Landers Center

9,000 for basketball · lower sideline seats are the pick

The Memphis area's suburban arena seats about 9,000 for basketball and just over 10,000 in the round. Here is how to pick a seat and get in quickly.

The DeSoto County arena, formerly the DeSoto Civic Center

The Landers Center is a county-owned arena and convention complex at 4560 Venture Drive in Southaven, Mississippi, about 16 miles south of downtown Memphis. It is home to the Memphis Hustle, the Memphis Grizzlies' NBA G League team, and it books concerts, comedy tours, family shows, boxing and the annual Mid-South Fair. It seats 9,000 for basketball, 7,888 for an end-stage concert and 10,045 for a show in the round. The best seats for most events are the lower-level sideline seats, which sit close to the floor with a clear raised view.

The arena opened in 2000 as the DeSoto Civic Center. Memphis-based Landers Auto Group bought the naming rights, and the building became the Landers Center in January 2012. Some longtime residents still use the old name; it is the same arena.

How the seating is laid out

The Landers Center has one main seating bowl around a flat event floor, plus suites. Seating guides group it into three areas:

  • Floor: portable seats or standing room for concerts and shows, removed for basketball.
  • 100 level: the fixed seats rising from the floor around the arena. Section numbers run in the 100s; Guest Relations, on the concourse, faces sections 111 and 112.
  • Suites: private boxes for groups of 12, 14 or 20, sold for Hustle games and most concerts and family shows. For an extra fee, the smaller suites can add four standing-room guests and the largest can add six.

The arena does not publish a written section guide, so confirm the exact location on the event's seat map. For accessible seating, the box office will advise by phone on which seats fit a guest's needs.

Best seats for Hustle games, concerts and family shows

Memphis Hustle basketball

Sit along the sidelines in the 100 level, toward center court. Middle rows see over the courtside seats and take in both baskets; the low rows feel closest to the players. Seats behind the baskets cost less but flatten the far end of the court.

Concerts

For an end-stage show, the 7,888 capacity means even the back of the room is fairly close. The floor is closest, but on a flat floor your view depends on who stands in front of you; the 100-level sides near the stage are the safer pick. For an in-the-round show, any lower-level row near the middle of a side is close to the stage.

Family shows and the fair

For shows that use the full floor, raised seats beat floor seats. Mid-level rows on the sides take in the whole floor.

Seats to avoid

  • Sections beside or behind an end stage: partial views of the stage and screens.
  • Back rows of the end sections at basketball: the farthest seats from the action.
  • Rear of a general admission floor: for a crowded concert, a 100-level seat sees more.

Getting there, parking and the west entrance

The arena is about 16 miles south of downtown Memphis, so most fans drive. Parking is in the arena's own lots, with the west side serving the box office and accessible entrance; fees and lot assignments depend on the event, so check the event page before you go.

  • Box office and will call: on the west side by the flagpoles and the Nissan entrance; box office hours are Tuesday to Friday, noon to 5 p.m., extended on event days.
  • Accessible entry: guests who need the elevator to reach accessible seating should park on the west side and enter at the Nissan entrance. Guests bring their own wheelchairs.
  • Strollers: must be checked at Guest Relations across from sections 111 and 112; suite guests may keep them in the suite closet.

Landers Center bag policy and entry rules

As of 2026, the Landers Center enforces a clear bag policy. Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches are allowed, including clear backpacks, drawstring bags and fanny packs, along with one-gallon clear freezer bags. A small clutch up to 4.5 by 6.5 inches may be carried in addition, with or without a strap, but metal or chain straps are not allowed. Guests with no bag or a clear bag can use the Express Lane.

  • Not allowed: briefcases, duffel bags, cooler bags, camera or binocular bags, and rolling luggage.
  • Doors: typically 60 minutes before a Hustle game, family show or concert.
  • Payments: concessions are cashless.
  • Smoking: not allowed, including vapes, under local and state law.
  • Cameras: still cameras without flash at some events; most concerts and family shows ban recording devices.

Capacity and history

The Landers Center seats 9,000 for basketball, 8,500 for hockey, rodeo and ice shows, 10,000 for boxing and wrestling, 7,888 for an end-stage concert and 10,045 in the round. Wikipedia's lead gives a smaller figure of 8,400, a reminder that published totals depend on the setup. The complex also includes a 17,000-square-foot convention center and a 400-seat performing arts center.

Ground was broken on April 24, 1998, and the arena opened on September 16, 2000, at a cost of about 35 million dollars. Hockey came first: the Memphis RiverKings, later the Mississippi RiverKings, played here from 2000 to 2018. The Memphis Xplorers arena football team played here from 2001 to 2006. The Mid-South Fair moved here from the Memphis fairgrounds in 2009. The Memphis Hustle arrived in 2017, and in 2021–22 the arena also served as a temporary home for the G League's Capitanes de la Ciudad de México. Hockey returns with the Mid-South Monarchs, an FPHL expansion team announced in March 2026 to start in the 2026–27 season.
