Grand Casino Arena seats, answered first
For a Wild game, the best seats at Grand Casino Arena are at center ice: lower sections 103–104 on the south side and 116–117 on the north, and the club sections C6 and C26 just above them. For value, the center 200-level sections, 204 and 219, keep the red line in front of you at a lower cost, and their front rows look down on the whole rink.
A search for an Xcel Energy Center seating chart lands on the same building. The Saint Paul arena carried that name from 2000 until September 2025, and the sections, rows and seats did not change with the signs, so an older Xcel Energy Center map or seat view still applies.
- Closest: the on-the-glass seats in the first lower rows.
- Best balance: 102–105 and 115–118, middle rows.
- Elevated and close: the club ring, C1–C40.
- Best value: 203–205 and 218–220, front rows.
The arena's own numbering rules
Grand Casino Arena publishes its numbering rules on its seating-chart page, which makes this one of the easier charts to verify. Tickets read section, row, seat, and every number runs clockwise:
- 100 level: sections 101–126.
- RBC Wealth Management Club Level: sections C1–C40.
- 200 level: sections 201–230.
On the arena's map, section 101 sits at the southeast corner and the numbers run west along the south side, where 103 and 104 straddle center ice. They continue around the west end (109–111, toward Seventh Street), along the north side (113–119, with 116 and 117 at center ice) and around the east end (122–124, toward Roy Wilkins Auditorium) before closing at 126. The 200 level follows the same path, with 204 at south center, 212 at the west end, 219 at north center and 227 at the east end.
The club ring is numbered separately. C1 starts at the southeast corner, C6 sits at south center, and C26 sits at north center. On the arena's map, the club ring breaks behind the west-end net, so you will not find C15, C16 or C17. A ring of suites, S1–S62, sits just inside the club ring.
Rows, seat numbers and seat 1
The arena spells out both rules. Row 1 is nearest the floor in every section, and row numbers climb toward the concourse. Seats also run clockwise, so seat 1 is always next to the lower-numbered neighboring section. The arena's own example: in section 219, seat 1 is nearest section 218 and seat 21 is nearest 220. Facing the ice, that puts seat 1 at the right end of the row, which RateYourSeats confirms.
That rule makes aisle shopping simple. In a center section, a low seat number means the end closer to the lower section, and a high number means the end closer to the higher one.
- Seats per row: TickPick puts lower-level rows at about 18 to 20 seats and upper-level rows at about 19 to 21, which matches the arena's 21-seat example in 219.
- Glass rows: the first lower-bowl rows along the boards are sold as glass seats, per TickPick and RateYourSeats.
- Behind the benches: RateYourSeats notes that seating in 116 and 117 starts a few rows up, just behind the player benches.
- Club rows: the club sections are short, so the back row still sits close to the rail.
- Accessible rows: at the top of most sections, per TickPick.
What you see from each level
100 level
This building was designed for hockey, and the lower bowl hugs the rink. From the middle rows of the center sections you look over the glass at the whole sheet; from the glass rows you see board battles at eye level but lose depth at the far end.
Club level
The club ring sits just above the lower bowl. RateYourSeats notes that the extra height makes play easy to follow end to end and that the glass is less distracting than from the lower rows. C6 and C26 are the center-ice pair.
200 level
The upper bowl is where Wild fans find value. RateYourSeats calls the front rows of 219 some of the best-value seats in the arena, and adds that views fade as you climb. The center sections, 204 and 219, and their neighbors are the picks; the high corners are the longest views in the building.
Wild hockey: benches, boxes and the attack-twice end
TickPick places the Wild bench in front of section 117 and the visitors' bench in front of 116, on the north side, with the penalty boxes across the ice between 103 and 104. Per TickPick, the Wild shoot twice at the net in front of section 110, the west end.
- Straight-on center: 103–104, facing both benches, from the middle rows up.
- Behind the bench: 116–117, for line changes up close.
- Attack-twice end: corners 107–108 and 112–113 for a diagonal view of the west net in the first and third periods.
- Club: C5–C7 and C25–C27 for a near-ideal hockey angle with lounge access.
- Skip: the first rows behind the benches if standing players bother you, and the high 200-level corners if you want detail.
The same layout serves Minnesota Frost games and the state high school tournaments.
Concert setups: end stage and center stage
The arena's capacity sheet lists several concert setups, and the names explain them. End-stage setups are labeled 180, 270 and 360 degrees, describing how far the seating wraps around the stage; there is also a center-stage setup and a smaller half-house setup. The arena's sample concert chart places the stage at the east end, in front of sections 122–124.
- Closest: the floor sections straight back from the stage.
- Raised and close: the side sections nearest the stage, 119–121 on the north side and 125–126 and 101 on the south, along with the club sections above them.
- Head-on: 109–111 at the west end and 211–213 above them face the full stage and screens.
- Avoid: 122–124 and the seats above them for an end-stage show. The smaller 180- and 270-degree setups close more of the seating around the stage.
In a center-stage setup every section faces the stage, and the center-ice sections, 103–104 and 116–117, become the best raised seats again. Check the chart on your event, since the floor layout changes with each tour.
Accessible seating at Grand Casino Arena
The arena says accessible seating is available on all levels, and it sells those seats through Ticketmaster (filter for accessible tickets) and the box office. It does not post a fixed list of sections, so call the box office to check a specific location. TickPick notes that accessible rows sit at the top of most sections, and RateYourSeats shows wheelchair seating behind the top row of lower sections such as 104.
- Power: some accessible locations have electrical outlets, available on request.
- Bariatric chair: one is available for ADA platforms, first come, first served.
- Suites: a suite chair can be removed to make room for a wheelchair at the balcony rail.
- Elevators: located throughout the arena and serving all public areas.
A pre-arranged escort can meet you at a gate and take you to your seat; details are on the arena's accessibility page.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Grand Casino Arena seating chart the same as the Xcel Energy Center seating chart?
Yes. The Xcel Energy Center was renamed Grand Casino Arena in September 2025, and the sections, rows and seat numbers stayed the same.
How are seats numbered at Grand Casino Arena?
Clockwise, like the sections. Seat 1 is next to the lower-numbered section, which puts it on your right as you face the ice. Row 1 is nearest the floor.
Where is center ice at Grand Casino Arena?
Between sections 103 and 104 on the south side and 116 and 117 on the north. Club sections C6 and C26 and upper sections 204 and 219 line up with it.
Are 200-level seats at Grand Casino Arena worth it?
The front rows of the center sections, 204 and 219, are widely seen as the arena's best value for hockey. Higher rows and corners feel much farther away.
Which end do the Wild shoot twice at Grand Casino Arena?
The west end, in front of section 110, according to TickPick. Teams can switch ends, so confirm on game night.
Does Grand Casino Arena have wheelchair seating on every level?
Yes, per the arena. Locations are sold through Ticketmaster's accessible filter and the box office, and accessible rows sit at the top of most sections.
