Where to sit at State Farm Arena: the quick answer
For an Atlanta Hawks game, buy a 100-level seat on the sideline, roughly a dozen rows or more off the floor. That height lets you follow plays at both baskets without the bench or scorer's table in the way. For the best value, choose a Terrace section near the middle of the sideline, which keeps the full court and the big center-hung video board in front of you.
The arena has four public tiers:
- Courtside: floor seats around the court.
- 100 level: the lower bowl, entered from the main concourse.
- 200 level: a shorter ring above it, described by seating guides as the club tier.
- Terrace: the top tier, with suite levels between the tiers.
Those level names come from the arena itself. Two seating guides agree the Terrace uses T labels, such as T9 or T18, instead of 300-style numbers, though certain resale maps call the Terrace a 300 level, so go by the section name on your listing, not by the color on a map.
Courtside and lower-bowl depth
Courtside seats run along the sidelines and baselines. Courtside clubs and cabanas arrived with the 2017–2018 renovation; the Sharecare Social Cabana is one of them on the arena's premium list.
Rows in the lower bowl are lettered, with the first letters nearest the floor, and seat photos show the deepest lower-bowl sections reaching double letters such as AA. Row depth changes the experience more than section number does:
- Rows nearest the floor, sideline: you feel the speed of the game, but benches, the scorer's table and the courtside row sit right at eye level.
- Middle rows, sideline: the strongest basketball view in the arena, with both ends of the court in clear sight.
- Corners: turned toward the floor with both baskets in clear view, usually for less than the sideline.
- Low rows behind a basket: right at the rim for one half, with the stanchion (the padded base holding up the backboard) and the glass framing the other.
The 200 ring and the rebuilt side of the bowl
When the arena opened, roughly 90 suites rose in a tall stack on one long side, and the regular seats there sat well back from the court. The 2017–2018 renovation cut that wall down to two suite levels with about 40 suites, plus new upper seating and social spaces. The bowl is far more balanced now, and the rebuilt side now sits as close as the rest.
Guides call the 200 level a club-and-mezzanine ring: wider padded chairs, plus food and drink brought to you. It is only a few rows deep in seat photos, which keeps its last row near the action.
Premium products on the arena's list range from clubs (Delta SKY360, Harrah's Cherokee Casinos and the Players Club) to suite products such as Veranda Suites, Topgolf Swing Suites and the Georgia Natural Gas Greener Life Lofts. Sponsor names and access rules change, so confirm exactly what a premium listing includes.
Terrace seats: reading a T ticket
A ticket for section T20 is an upper-tier seat, not a table or a suite. The T simply marks the Terrace level.
- Terrace sections at center: the strongest seats on this tier, facing the full court.
- Front rows of any Terrace section: a real step closer than the top of that same section, and worth paying a little more for.
- Terrace corners and ends: the most distant seats in the house. The renovated center-hung board, roughly five times the size of its predecessor, does much of the work from here.
According to one seating guide, the Concert Club and an all-inclusive social club both occupy Terrace sections. Two T tickets can therefore differ a lot: one may bundle meals and drinks, the next may not. Read the listing before you compare prices.
Concerts, center stages and fight nights
Basketball capacity is 17,608. Concert capacity swings from about 18,000 up to 21,000, and stage placement explains why.
Stage at one end
This is the most common tour setup. Sections behind the stage go dark or are marked limited view, and the floor is sold either as standing room or as numbered blocks. A raised side section near the stage end, turned toward the performers, usually beats a spot deep on the level floor. One guide says the Concert Club looks straight at the stage in this layout.
Stage in the middle
With the stage in the middle, every section goes on sale, which produces the top capacity figures. There is no back of the room, and lower-bowl seats on any side are the ones to target.
WWE, UFC and boxing
Put a ring or cage at center and the arena behaves like an in-the-round concert. Low rows of the lower bowl offer the best value, because seats far back on the level floor often see less than the first raised rows.
Seats that rarely deliver
- Side sections beside or behind an end stage: worth it only when the listing spells out the view.
- Front rows behind a basket: excellent for one end, frustrating for the other.
- High Terrace corners: the court shrinks, and you end up watching the board.
- Listings that leave out the level: check if a 300 label actually means Terrace seating, and if the price covers club access.
Reserved Seat backs every order with a 100% guarantee; picking the right seat still comes down to reading the map.
Accessible seats and how to buy them
Per the arena, every price range includes accessible seating, and you may add companion seats up to the ticket limit set for the event. Three ways to buy them: Ticketmaster, a phone call, or the box office at Gate 2, open from one hour before each event. If you already hold standard tickets, the box office can swap them for accessible ones when space allows. One seating guide notes that a wheelchair user's companion gets a folding chair.
The arena does not post which sections hold these seats. Use a wheelchair-accessible filter on listings, or read the arena's accessibility page ahead of purchase.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 200 level at State Farm Arena a club level?
Guides list the 200 level as the club and mezzanine ring, with wider padded seats and food and drink brought to your seat. It is only a few rows deep, so the last rows are still near the court.
What does a T in a State Farm Arena section number mean?
It marks the Terrace, the arena's top seating tier. Some resale maps label the same seats as the 300 level.
Which row should I pick in a 100-level section?
On the sideline, rows about a dozen or more off the floor clear the benches and scorer's table while staying close. Row letters start at the floor and climb.
What is the capacity for a concert at State Farm Arena?
Between about 18,000 and 21,000. An end stage takes the seats behind it off sale; a stage in the middle sells the entire bowl.
Do Terrace tickets at State Farm Arena include food?
Some do. One seating guide puts the Concert Club and an all-inclusive social club in Terrace sections, so the listing tells you whether meals and drinks come with the seat.
Can I exchange tickets for accessible seats at State Farm Arena?
Yes, at the Gate 2 box office, subject to availability. Accessible seats are also sold through Ticketmaster and by phone in all price ranges.
