Capital One Hall

1,600 seats in the Main Theater · center orchestra or Balcony 1 front

Tysons' 1,600-seat performing arts center, opened in 2021 next to the McLean Metro, hosts Broadway tours, concerts, comedy and the NSO.

Northern Virginia's newest large theater

Capital One Hall is a performing arts center at 7750 Capital One Tower Road in Tysons, Virginia, built on the campus of Capital One's headquarters. It opened to the public on October 1, 2021, with a performance by Josh Groban. The main room is the 1,600-seat Main Theater; a 225-seat black box called The Vault handles smaller shows. Programming includes the Broadway in Tysons touring series, concerts, comedy, and appearances by Washington-area companies such as the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Philharmonic and The Washington Ballet.

Because the Main Theater is mid-sized, almost every seat is reasonably close. The best seats for most shows are the center orchestra from the middle rows forward and the front of the first balcony. For a concert by a single performer, sit in the orchestra; for a dance-heavy musical, the front of Balcony 1 shows more of the stage floor.

How the Main Theater is laid out

The Main Theater has three seating levels facing a proscenium stage (a stage framed by an arch):

  • Orchestra: the main floor, divided into left, center and right areas. The hall's accessible-seating list places wheelchair locations in the Left Orchestra at rows P and X and the Right Orchestra at row P, which shows the orchestra runs back well past row P.
  • Balcony 1: the first level above the orchestra, with left and right sections; accessible seats are in Left Balcony 1, row EE.
  • Balcony 2: the upper level, with accessible seats in row AA on both the left and right.

Note the double letters in the balconies: row AA or EE is a balcony row, not a front orchestra row. Check the map for your performance, since some shows adjust the front of the orchestra for a pit or extended stage.

Best seats at Capital One Hall

Broadway in Tysons

The center orchestra from the middle rows forward gives eye-level views of performers' faces. The first rows of Balcony 1 are the alternative for big ensemble numbers, since the height shows the full stage picture. In a 1,600-seat house, the balcony is close enough that many regulars prefer it.

Concerts and comedy

Get as close and as centered as you can in the orchestra. Comedians play to the front of the room, and the energy is strongest in the forward rows.

Orchestra and ballet

For the National Symphony Orchestra or a ballet company, the front of Balcony 1 often gives the best balance of sound and a full view of the dancers' footwork.

Seats to think twice about

  • Far side seats in the front orchestra: close but at a sharp angle.
  • Top rows of Balcony 2: the farthest from the stage, though still modest in a house this size.
  • The first few orchestra rows for a musical: you look up, and the front of the stage can hide performers' feet.

Weekend evenings and opening nights of a Broadway in Tysons run draw the most demand; weekday performances usually have the widest choice.

Parking and getting to Capital One Hall

As of 2026, there are two garages on the Capital One campus:

  • Hotel/Event Garage (1625 Capital One Drive North): the premium option, attached to the hall with direct entry, height limit 8 feet 2 inches.
  • Visitor and Associate Garage (1680 Capital One Drive South): general parking to the left of the C2 building, height limit 6 feet 8 inches, followed by a short outdoor walk with no cover.

Parking passes are sold as Ticketmaster add-ons with your tickets and are not transferable; general parking can also be bought on site the night of the show, first come, first served. Both garages open 90 minutes before doors.

The McLean station on Metro's Silver Line is a short walk from the hall, entered from Scotts Crossing Road off Dolly Madison Boulevard (Route 123), which makes Metro a good choice from Washington and Arlington. See the hall's transportation and parking page for current details.

Bag policy and security

As of 2026, bags may be no larger than 12 by 16 by 12 inches, and backpacks are not allowed. Every guest goes through a magnetometer (a walk-through metal detector) and a bag check before tickets are scanned, so keys, phones and wallets go in a bin for review.

  • Also prohibited: laptops and tablets, professional cameras with detachable lenses, selfie sticks, outside food and drink, signs and non-retractable umbrellas.
  • Children: every guest needs a ticket, and guests under 16 must be with an adult.
  • Doors and late seating: doors open 60 minutes before showtime; latecomers are seated at the house manager's discretion.
  • Food and drink: items bought on site may be taken into the theater for select shows.
  • Accessible seating: buy through Ticketmaster, then email the box office with your seat location so the wheelchair space can be prepared.
  • Coat check: in the main lobby past security, for a small fee.

Check the hall's current policy before you go, since security procedures can change without notice.

About the venue

Capital One Hall was built as part of Capital One Center, the company's mixed-use development around its Tysons headquarters, and it doubles as a corporate event center for the company. Besides the two theaters, it has a four-story atrium that holds up to 1,600 standing, an outdoor terrace, and the complex includes a rooftop amphitheater called the Perch. Since opening, the hall has hosted artists including Gordon Lightfoot, Men at Work, Boz Scaggs and Night Ranger, and it sells season packages for its Broadway in Tysons series.
