Chase Center seats: what to buy first
The first rows of the sideline 200s are the value play at Chase Center. The upper ring is built steep and tight to the court, so from the front of it you see both baskets and the whole floor without a sea of heads in the way. If budget allows, the 100-level sideline sections are the classic basketball seat, and the club and theater-box levels between the two rings offer the flattest, most direct angle in the building, at a premium.
Chase Center is the indoor arena in San Francisco's Mission Bay neighborhood, open since September 6, 2019. It seats 18,064 for basketball and about 19,500 for concerts. The Golden State Warriors (NBA) play here from October into April, plus playoffs; the Golden State Valkyries (WNBA) began play in 2025 and fill the summer; and the San Francisco Dons play selected basketball games here.
Rings, boxes and seat numbers
According to TickPick's seating guide, the bowl is organized in layers:
- Courtside and low premium seats: numbered in single and double digits, separate from the main bowl.
- 100 level (sections 101 to 124): the lower ring around the court.
- Premium layer: 136 suites, 44 of them set between the two rings, plus 32 courtside lounges and 60 theater boxes, which are small premium boxes along the sidelines.
- 200 level (sections 201 to 225): the upper ring.
Seat numbering is worth knowing when you compare two listings in the same row. Facing the floor, seat 1 is on the right, and numbers climb as you move left. A pair of low seat numbers sits beside the section's right-hand aisle, which is handy if you want easy access to the concourse.
Warriors and Valkyries: sideline, baseline or upper ring
- 100-level sideline: the traditional basketball view, with midcourt sections drawing the heaviest demand.
- Club and theater levels: seating guides such as 3D Digital Venue point to these as the most direct sightline in the arena. You are paying for angle and comfort more than closeness.
- Front of the sideline 200s: the best balance of view and price. Because the upper ring hugs the court, these rows often see more of the game than deep rows in the lower bowl.
- Lower corners: a reasonable compromise that usually sees less demand than the sideline.
- Low baseline rows: good when play comes toward you, weak for reading the far end of the floor.
- Back rows of the 200-level corners: the farthest seats from the court in the building. Choose these only when price is the only factor.
On Valkyries nights, fans call the building Ballhalla. The arena hosted the 2025 NBA All-Star Game and is scheduled to host the 2027 WNBA All-Star Game.
Concert nights in Mission Bay
For an end-stage tour, the 100-level side sections nearest the stage are the most reliable seats in the house. The floor gets you closest, but it is flat; in the back half, shorter fans end up watching the video screens rather than the performers. Sections directly behind the stage are usually closed or sold as limited view, so read the listing notes.
Side-stage seats without a clear view note deserve caution, since the stage structure can block part of the show. Beyond music, the arena books comedy, wrestling and college basketball events between seasons.
Bags, doors and house rules
As of the 2025–26 season, bags must fit within 14 by 14 by 6 inches. Backpacks are banned, with one exception: single-compartment drawstring bags within the size limit. If you arrive with something too big, there is a paid bag check near 16th Street and Terry A. Francois Boulevard.
- Doors: usually 90 to 120 minutes before Warriors tipoff; concert times vary by tour.
- Re-entry: not allowed.
- Smoking and vaping: banned everywhere on the property.
- Leave at home: outside bottles and cans, selfie sticks, professional recording gear and noisemakers, among other items.
Rules change, so check the arena's current policy before you go. Every Reserved Seat order is backed by a 100% guarantee.
Transit to the arena: Muni, ferry, Caltrain and bikes
The arena was planned around transit, and as of the 2025–26 season the options are strong:
- Muni Metro: the T Third Street line stops at UCSF/Chase Center, right next to the arena, and the Central Subway links it to downtown. Your event ticket works as Muni fare on the day of the event; KQED reported in July 2025 that this runs until 2 a.m.
- BART: ride to a Market Street station and switch to Muni.
- Caltrain: 4th and King station is about a 15- to 20-minute walk.
- Ferry: on Warriors game days, boats serve the Mission Bay Interim Ferry Landing at Pier 48 1/2.
- Bikes: a free valet on 16th Street holds up to 300 bikes.
- Car: the arena garage and nearby lots fill on big nights, so reserve in advance.
- Rideshare: pickups line Terry A. Francois Boulevard and 16th Street; expect surge pricing after a sellout.

Thrive City and the move from Oakland
The Warriors spent 48 years in Oakland at Oracle Arena before crossing the bay. Chase Center was privately financed, at a cost of about 1.4 billion dollars, and was designed as a year-round destination with its own plaza and transit links rather than a basketball-only box. The 2023 opening of the Central Subway tightened its connection to downtown.
That plaza, Thrive City, hosts restaurants, markets and community events throughout the year. Eating there before the game is an easy way to skip the longest concourse lines in the half hour before tipoff.
Frequently asked questions
Which Chase Center sections offer the best value for a Warriors game?
The front rows of the sideline 200s. The upper ring is steep and close to the court, so those seats see the whole floor for much less than the lower bowl.
How are seats numbered within a Chase Center section?
Facing the floor, seat 1 is on the right side of the section, and the numbers increase to the left.
Can I bring a backpack to Chase Center?
As of the 2025–26 season, no, except single-compartment drawstring bags within the 14 by 14 by 6 inch limit. A paid bag check is available near 16th Street. Check the current policy before you go.
Is Muni free with a Chase Center ticket?
Your event ticket serves as Muni fare on the day of the event, and the UCSF/Chase Center stop on the T Third Street line is next to the arena.
What is Ballhalla?
Ballhalla is the nickname fans use for Chase Center on Golden State Valkyries game nights. The WNBA team began play there in 2025.
