Reading the Nationwide Arena seating chart

The Nationwide Arena seating chart has four seating rings, as the arena's own maps draw them: the lower level (sections 101–122), the club level (C1–C13), the upper level (sections 201–228) and the Turf Terrace (sections 301–309) at press level above one end. Center ice falls between sections 103 and 104 on one sideline and between 114 and 115 on the other. For a Columbus Blue Jackets game, the best seats are rows E through T of those four sections; the best value is the front rows of upper-level 203–204 and 216–217, directly above them.

The arena has carried the Nationwide name since it opened, so there is no former-name chart to reconcile. Every map, seat-view photo and season-ticket chart you find under the Nationwide Arena name describes the same numbering.

  • Closest: row A, the glass row, in any lower section.
  • Best balance: lower 103, 104, 114 and 115, middle rows.
  • Raised with amenities: club sections C3–C5.
  • Best value: upper 203 and 217, the first few rows.

Lower, club, upper and terrace: the layout

The section layout below comes from the arena's published end-stage and Disney On Ice seating maps. RateYourSeats' section directory lists the same 22 lower, 13 club, 28 upper and nine terrace sections.

Lower level: 101–122

Section 101 sits in a corner. From there the numbers run along one sideline (102–105), around the far end (106–112, with 109 in the middle of that end), back along the opposite sideline (113–116, with 113 nearest the far end) and across the near end (117–122) to finish beside 101. On the arena's maps, with the near end drawn at the left, that is a clockwise sequence. Sections 103 and 104 face 114 and 115 across center ice.

Club level: C1–C13

The club ring is a single L-shaped band. C1 sits in the corner above 101, C2–C6 run above the 102–106 sideline, and C7–C13 curve around the far end above 107–111. C3 and C4 are the center-ice clubs. There are no club sections above the 113–116 sideline or the near end; the arena's premium pages place its loge boxes and terrace tables on the club level as well.

Upper level: 201–228

The upper ring follows the same clockwise order. Section 201 is the corner above C1, 202–205 cover the sideline above the clubs, 206–214 wrap the far end with 210 at its center, 215–218 return along the opposite sideline, 219 fills the next corner and 220–228 cover the near end. Sections 203–204 and 216–217 sit over center ice; RateYourSeats names 203 and 217 as the sections right on the red line.

Turf Terrace: 301–309

Nine small sections, 301–309, ring the top of the near end behind 220–228. RateYourSeats describes the Turf Terrace (formerly the Sky Terrace) as two lettered rows fronting a standing area, sold mostly to groups.

Row letters, entry rows and where seat 1 sits

Seat numbering. Two guides agree: seat 1 is on your right as you face the ice, court or stage. TickPick says the same pattern holds in every section, and RateYourSeats states it section by section. In section 104, for example, seat 1 is on the aisle toward 105.

Lower rows. Rows are lettered from A at the glass. Per RateYourSeats, the sideline sections 102–105 and 113–116 run to row Y, and the four center sections 103, 104, 114 and 115 stop at row V with a wheelchair row (WC) behind it. For hockey, the first row behind the two benches in 103 and 104 is usually row C. The sidelines also carry two numbered rows, 1 and 2, used for basketball and concerts when the floor is open. The near-end sections are deeper: 101 and 117 run A–Y and then continue in a second tier lettered AA–SS, and 118–122 add double-lettered rows to about NN–RR. Entry tunnels sit near row Y on the sidelines and near row BB at the near end.

Upper rows. RateYourSeats lists most upper sections from row A to row Q, with the shallower sideline and corner sections 214–219 ending at row M and the near-end sections 220–228 running to row R. Several sections, including 202, 204, 210, 216 and 218, skip from row A to row E around a wheelchair platform, so a row E ticket there sits closer to the ice than the letter suggests. RateYourSeats puts the upper sideline entry tunnels at row C.

Club rows. C1–C13 each hold rows A–H, entered from the top.

Best seats for Blue Jackets hockey

Two guides agree on the bench and penalty-box positions: TickPick and RateYourSeats place the Blue Jackets bench in front of section 103, the visitors' bench in front of 104 and the penalty boxes in front of 114 and 115. Columbus shoots twice (in the first and third periods) toward the 106–112 end; TickPick pins the net in front of 108 and 109. The visitors shoot twice toward the 117–122 end.

  • Pick: 103, 104, 114 and 115, rows E–T. You clear the glass and see both nets.
  • Glass seats: row A of every lower section, per both guides. Expect a distorted view of the far end.
  • Lexus Lounge: the all-inclusive rows of 114 and 115. RateYourSeats lists rows B–M and TickPick rows A–M, so check the listing.
  • Club: C3–C5 for a raised center view; C10–C13 sit behind the net Columbus attacks twice.
  • Value: 203–204 and 216–217, rows A–E, or the far-end lower sections 108–110 if you want to watch Columbus score.
  • Family pick: RateYourSeats suggests section 110 for families.
  • Think twice: upper corners 201, 214, 215 and 219, the farthest seats, and row Y of 116 near seat 1, which RateYourSeats flags as partly obstructed.

Basketball and end-stage concert setups

Basketball

For college basketball, RateYourSeats places the team benches in front of 102 and 105 and a long press table along the 113–116 side. Midcourt is again 103–104 and 114–115, and the numbered rows 1–2 become the courtside seats. Upper 203 and 217 give a clean overhead view of both baskets.

End-stage concerts

The arena's end-stage map puts the stage at the 117–122 end and lays the floor out as FLR 1–3 in front of the stage, FLR 4–6 behind them and two small wedges, FLR 7 and FLR 9, at the far corners, with the mixing booth behind FLR 5. On that map, 117–122, 101, 201, 219–228, 301–309 and C1 are shaded out as behind or beside the stage; RateYourSeats notes these are released only when a show sells the whole arena.

  • Closest: FLR 1–3. The floor is flat, so height matters behind the first rows.
  • Raised side view: lower 102–104 and 114–116 sit close to the stage at a side angle.
  • Head-on: lower 108–110, club C13 and upper 210 face the stage across the full floor, per RateYourSeats.
  • Avoid: any section the event map shows beside the stage line unless it is sold as a limited-view seat.

Ice shows

The arena's Disney On Ice map adds rinkside floor rows labeled FL102–FL105, FL108, FL110 and FL113–FL116 in front of the matching sections and closes the near end, 117–122 and 220–228.

Nationwide Arena seat views by level

  • Glass row: at ice level, with checks right in front of you; the far end looks flat.
  • Lower, rows E–T: the broadcast-style angle over the glass, with both nets in view from 103–104 and 114–115.
  • Lower, rows U–Y and the near-end second tier: farther back but still under the club ring, with the whole rink in view.
  • Club C1–C13: about eight rows on a shelf just above the lower bowl, close and raised.
  • Upper, rows A–E: the best upstairs angle, high enough to read plays forming.
  • Upper, rows M–R: the top of the bowl, a long but complete view of the rink.
  • Turf Terrace: the highest view, from the press level above the near end.

Accessible seating locations

The arena's published maps mark accessible positions on every level, and RateYourSeats' row lists match them:

  • Lower sideline: the WC row behind row V in 103, 104, 114 and 115.
  • Lower ends: positions in and around 106–111 at the far end and 119–121 at the near end, where wheelchair rows break the lettering.
  • Upper: platforms in 202, 204, 216 and 218 on the sidelines and in several end sections, including 208, 210, 212, 220, 224 and 228.

Companion seats sit beside each wheelchair position. Because floor and end-stage layouts close some of these sections, check the arena's seating charts page and its accessibility page for your event before you buy.
