Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
Denver's seat decision: Red Rocks or downtown
Most Denver tickets fall into one of two camps. Red Rocks Amphitheatre, up in the foothills about 10 miles from downtown, sells bench seating under open sky, where your location in the bowl matters more than your row. Everything else of scale (the arena, the ballpark and the football stadium) clusters around downtown with light rail nearby, where the usual rules apply: lower sideline seats for games, side seats near the stage for concerts.
The city fields a team in each of the five major leagues, and the transit network makes it practical to see two or three events in one trip without renting a car. Red Rocks adds a national reputation; by Wikipedia's account, no venue anywhere, of any size, grossed more or sold more tickets in 2021.
- NFL: Denver Broncos, west of downtown at Empower Field at Mile High.
- NBA and NHL: Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, sharing Ball Arena.
- MLB: Colorado Rockies, whose Coors Field anchors LoDo (Lower Downtown).
- MLS: Colorado Rapids, north of the city in Commerce City.
- NLL: the Mammoth play box lacrosse in the same arena as the Nuggets.
Benches, rows and views at Red Rocks
The amphitheater holds 9,525 and sits between towering sandstone formations near the town of Morrison. It belongs to the city, which also operates it. You sit on long wooden benches instead of chairs, and shows run from about March into November without any cover overhead, so sun, wind, rain and the occasional snow all reach your seat.
- Center sections: the classic view, with the stage framed by the rock walls. This is where demand is highest.
- Side sections: you look across the bowl at an angle, which trims the cost but also the framing.
- Upper rows: high above the stage, yet on a clear night they look out across the plains toward the city lights.
- The climb: Red Rocks sits above Denver's own mile-high elevation, and the stairs are steep. Allow time, drink water and go easy on alcohol.
Sellouts come earliest for summer Fridays and Saturdays and for bands that play several nights in a row to loyal crowds.
Indoor halls and the south-suburb amphitheater
- Ball Arena: about 21,000 at a concert, at the edge of downtown. It books the major arena tours, and a lower side seat near the stage is the dependable pick.
- The football and baseball stadiums: occasional summer mega-tours.
- Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre: the largest open-air amphitheater in the region, fitting 18,000 in about 7,500 permanent seats plus lawn space, down in suburban Greenwood Village. Its season covers May to September.
- Mission Ballroom: AEG's room on Wynkoop Street in RiNo (the River North Art District), a regular stop for mid-size touring acts.
- Fillmore Auditorium: a general-admission club near Colfax Avenue on Clarkson.
In the colder months, the arena, the Fillmore and the RiNo hall book the most shows, so check them first for something this week.
Where to sit for Denver's pro teams
Denver Broncos
Empower Field at Mile High, just west of downtown, seats 76,125. Three Super Bowl trophies sit in the team's case, and the club reports a sellout streak that stretches back to 1970. Lower sideline seats are the premium view; division games with Kansas City, Las Vegas and Los Angeles are the toughest tickets.
Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche
Both share Ball Arena, known as the Pepsi Center until 2020. The Nuggets date to 1967 and captured their first NBA title in 2023, taking the Finals from the Miami Heat four games to one. The Avalanche relocated from Quebec in 1995 and lifted the Stanley Cup right away that first season, adding two more Cups in 2001 and 2022. Pick sideline seats for basketball and a raised seat near center ice for hockey.
Colorado Rockies
Coors Field opened in 1995 in LoDo and seats 50,144. Look for the row of purple seats in the upper deck: the 20th row marks one mile above sea level. Baseballs have been stored in a humidor since 2002, and the Rockpile is the park's long-standing bleacher section.
Colorado Rapids
The Rapids, 2010 MLS Cup champions, play at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, a 19,680-seat stadium roughly 8 miles up the road in Commerce City.
Comedy Works and the Performing Arts Complex
Comedy Works
- Downtown: the original club, on 15th Street in Larimer Square, has presented comics since 1981 and is the city's best-known comedy room. Restaurants line the square outside.
- South: a second club on Landmark Place in Greenwood Village, close to the Tech Center. Its upstairs restaurant offers a meal package that comes with priority seats close to the stage, the easiest way to guarantee a good spot.
Weekend headliners at both rooms sell first. Pick the original club for a downtown stay and the suburban one for a trip built around the southern amphitheater or business district. Review each room's age and seating rules on the Comedy Works site before buying.
Denver Performing Arts Complex
Four city blocks downtown hold ten stages and over 10,000 seats, tied together by a glass canopy 80 feet high. Denver Center Broadway brings touring Broadway to the 2,884-seat Buell Theatre, which also books comedy and concerts. The opera company, the ballet and the symphony divide their seasons between the 2,225-seat Ellie Caulkins Opera House and the 2,679-seat Boettcher Concert Hall, and the Denver Center Theatre Company performs in the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex. Expect the strongest demand for December productions and Saturday nights. Arena-size comedians play Ball Arena.
Denver dates by season
- Spring: the amphitheater season begins, baseball returns to LoDo, and the arena's two teams chase playoff spots. A late snowstorm is always possible, so dress warmly for April shows.
- Summer: the busiest stretch, with near-nightly shows in the foothills, the southern amphitheater in full swing and a home baseball game most days.
- Fall: NFL Sundays, the last amphitheater dates of the year, and opening nights for basketball and hockey.
- Winter: arena sports at midseason, any January football playoff dates and holiday stage shows.
Light rail, the A Line and the drive to Morrison
- Airport: RTD's A Line commuter train links Denver International Airport with Union Station downtown.
- Coors Field: a two-block walk from the Union Station train hall, and an easy stroll from LoDo hotels.
- Ball Arena: four light-rail lines (D, E, H, W) stop at Ball Arena/Elitch Gardens, and the free MallRide bus on 16th Street ties in with Union Station.
- Empower Field: take the E or W line to the stadium's own station, then walk roughly eight minutes.
- Red Rocks: public transit does not serve it. Driving is standard, and most tickets already cover parking. Late arrivals may land in overflow lots with a steep walk up, post-show rideshare pickups happen at a dedicated lot, and complimentary shuttles link certain lots before the show. Check the venue's directions page for this season's setup.
- Greenwood Village and Commerce City: Fiddler's Green, Comedy Works South and the Rapids' stadium are easiest by car or rideshare.
Bases, weather and bag rules in Denver
- LoDo: the most versatile base, near the ballpark and the train hub that reaches the airport and the other venues.
- Larimer Square: walkable dining before Comedy Works or a show at the arts complex.
- RiNo: street art, breweries and dining around the Wynkoop Street hall, minutes from downtown by car.
- Morrison: a small town at the amphitheater's doorstep, though the bulk of concertgoers sleep in the city or its western suburbs.
- Layers for Red Rocks: evenings cool quickly and storms move through, even in summer.
- Bags: for 2026, leave ordinary bags behind at the arena, bring only a clear bag to the football stadium, and keep it to a small one-pocket bag at Red Rocks. Rules change, so confirm before you go.
Reserved Seat backs every order with guaranteed entry, which counts most when a foothills show is sold out.
Frequently asked questions
Are the center sections worth it at Red Rocks?
For most fans, yes. From the middle of the bowl, the rock walls frame the stage the way the postcards show it, while side sections look across at an angle. Upper rows trade closeness for a view of the plains.
Does a Red Rocks ticket include parking?
Usually. Most show tickets cover parking. Overflow lots can involve a long uphill walk, so arrive early, and check the venue's getting-here page for current lots.
What is the purple row at Coors Field?
The 20th row of the upper deck is purple to mark the one-mile elevation line. The 50,144-seat ballpark dates to 1995.
Which Comedy Works location offers front seating packages?
The south club in Greenwood Village. Its upstairs restaurant sells a meal package that includes priority seats near the stage.
How do you get from Denver International Airport to downtown?
Take RTD's A Line commuter train to Union Station. From there, Coors Field is two blocks away and light rail reaches Ball Arena and Empower Field.
