Angels and Ducks a short walk apart · ARTIC trains stop between

Baseball and hockey on opposite sides of one train station: how to pick seats for baseball, hockey and concerts in Orange County's stadium district.

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Anaheim seat choices in brief

Anaheim puts two major league venues within walking distance, with a regional rail station between them, so your seat choices come down to two buildings plus a pair of mid-size music rooms.

  • Angel Stadium (Los Angeles Angels, March to September): the Angels' bench sits along third base; shade lives in the 200 level beneath the club deck; field-level outfield seats are the budget way to stay close.
  • Honda Center (Anaheim Ducks, October to April): center-ice Plaza seats on the 200 level are the sweet spot; the 300-level Club areas bring food and drink to some seats.
  • Concerts at Honda Center: raised seats beside the stage outperform rows far back on the floor.
  • The Grove and House of Blues: rooms small enough that most spots feel close.

Angel Stadium: dugouts, shade and the Big A

Fans call the ballpark at 2000 Gene Autry Way the Big A, after the towering A-shaped sign in its parking lot. It opened on April 19, 1966, holds about 45,517, and hosted the Los Angeles Rams from 1980 to 1994. A February 2025 agreement keeps the Angels there through 2032.

Where to sit

  • Behind the home team: the Angels use the third-base dugout, so seats on that side face the home bench.
  • Shade: the 200 level under the club deck is covered, and up top, the third-base side is first to fall into shadow as evening comes.
  • Value near the field: field-level seats toward the outfield keep you low and close for less, and the front rows beyond the fence are where homers tend to come down.

Demand peaks for weekend games, promotional giveaway nights and any series with the Dodgers.

Honda Center: center ice, club seats and concerts

The arena at 2695 East Katella Avenue opened on June 17, 1993, under its original Arrowhead Pond name, and the Ducks have played there since their first season. Hockey seating totals 17,174; a basketball setup holds 18,336. The LA Clippers used it for part of their home schedule from 1994 to 1999. The Big West Conference holds its basketball tournaments here, the NCAA has brought its West Regional to the building seven times, and Olympic volleyball is planned here for 2028.

Hockey seating

The 200-level Plaza sections near center ice give the cleanest view of plays developing in both directions without feeling remote. The 300-level Club sections trade a little height for in-seat service in select areas. Expect the stiffest regular-season demand when the Los Angeles Kings, the Ducks' chief rival, visit.

Concert seating

For an end-stage setup, choose raised side sections close to the stage over seats deep on the flat floor.

Construction around Honda Center: OCVIBE in 2026

The acreage around the arena is being redeveloped as OCVIBE, a district mixing entertainment, dining and parks, and the work affects how a visit runs as of fall 2026.

  • Parking: two new structures, the Katella and Cerritos garages, came online October 15, 2025, ahead of the 2025–26 hockey season.
  • Arena makeover: private money is funding a roughly 1.1-billion-dollar overhaul, slated to begin once the 2025–26 hockey season ended in spring 2026 and finish by 2027, with a redesigned entry, added clubs and suite improvements.
  • First phase of the district: early 2027 is the target for a five-restaurant food hall, an outdoor amphitheater for 5,700 and a city park.
  • Streets: according to Honda Center, the stretch of Douglass Road from Katella to Stanley Cup Way is closed for good, and fans should arrive at least an hour early while work continues.

Gates, lines and lots may move during construction, so read the arena's pre-visit guide in the days before your event. Premium areas may also change with the renovation, so match any listing against the arena's current chart.

Smaller stages and the convention district

  • City National Grove of Anaheim: this hall for about 1,700 fans occupies a corner of the ballpark's parking lot. The city owns it, OCVIBE operates it, and it dates to 1998.
  • House of Blues Anaheim: the club left Downtown Disney for Anaheim GardenWalk, directly opposite Disneyland, following a 2016 announcement, which keeps it walkable for resort guests.
  • Anaheim Convention Center: the biggest convention venue on the West Coast, with 1.8 million square feet on Katella Avenue facing the Disneyland Resort. Its regulars include the NAMM Show, WonderCon, VidCon and D23, Disney's fan gathering, held on a two-year cycle since 2009.

Even if you only have a game ticket, check the convention calendar: big expos fill resort-area hotels and push room rates up.

When to go: overlaps and rivalry dates

  • March and April: baseball's opening weeks collide with hockey's final regular-season stretch, so both buildings can be busy the same night. The Big West tournaments also land at Honda Center in March.
  • May through September: the heart of the baseball season, outdoor-weather concerts and the busiest weeks at the theme parks.
  • October through April: Ducks hockey, with Kings games as the high-demand dates.
  • All year: touring music and stand-up across the arena and both smaller halls, with conventions in between.

Orange County freeways jam on weekday evenings, right when 7 p.m. games start. Leave early or take the train if you want to catch the first pitch or the opening faceoff.

Riding ARTIC, parking and bag rules

ARTIC, short for Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, began service on December 6, 2014. Two rail lines stop there: Metrolink's Orange County Line and the Pacific Surfliner from Amtrak. Step out, cross Katella, and you are at the arena. The ballpark lies west, past the 57 freeway, and a pedestrian underpass on Douglass Road connects you.

  • Train: check late-evening return times before night games and concerts, because service thins out.
  • Angel Stadium by car: parking opens early, and you can enter the lots from State College Boulevard, Orangewood Avenue or Douglass Road. The ballpark's 2026 rules require clear bags; see the Angels ballpark guide.
  • Honda Center by car: the new OCVIBE garages accept prepaid parking. For the 2026–27 season, only very small bags are permitted inside.
  • Rideshare: for baseball, meet your driver by Gate 1; for the arena, the pickup point is the ARTIC station itself (2626 East Katella Avenue).

Eating and staying nearby

Until more OCVIBE restaurants open, many fans eat inside the venues or near the Grove before a show. A resort-area hotel keeps GardenWalk and House of Blues within walking range, with the ballpark and arena a quick drive east. Pairing the trip with a game in Los Angeles is easy, because trains from ARTIC reach Union Station directly. Reserved Seat stands behind every order with a 100% guarantee, and bag, mobile-ticket and re-entry rules change often, so check each venue before you go.

Frequently asked questions

Which side is the Angels dugout on?

The Angels use the third-base dugout at Angel Stadium, so third-base-side seats face the home bench.

Where are shaded seats at Angel Stadium?

Look to the 200 level, which sits under the club deck. In the upper deck, the third-base side is shaded first as the sun drops.

What are the best seats for a Ducks game at Honda Center?

The 200-level Plaza sections around center ice give you a full view of the ice without feeling distant. Some 300-level Club seats include in-seat service.

Can I walk from the train to both Anaheim venues?

Yes. ARTIC sits across Katella Avenue from Honda Center, and the ballpark is reachable on foot via a pedestrian underpass on Douglass Road.

Is construction affecting Honda Center events?

Yes. A roughly 1.1-billion-dollar overhaul tied to the OCVIBE district was scheduled from spring 2026 through 2027, and fans are asked to show up an hour or more before the event.

Has Anaheim ever had an NFL team?

Yes. For 15 seasons, 1980 through 1994, the Los Angeles Rams called the Big A home.
