Globe Life Field

Rangers dugout: 1st base · main level rows 10–25 · roof beats heat

With a roof that shuts out the Texas heat, your Rangers seat comes down to level, dugout side and rows clear of the netting. Then pick the right parking lot.

How to Choose When Weather Is Off the Table

At most ballparks, sun drives the seat choice. At Globe Life Field, the retractable roof takes that off the table for most games, so you can choose on view alone. The best all-around seat is on the main level between the dugouts, about 10 to 25 rows up, where you clear the netting and the players at the dugout rail but still see the pitch break. To sit near the home team, take the first-base side: the Rangers use the first-base dugout. For value, the upper level between the bases is just as comfortable as the field level when the roof is closed.

Globe Life Field is the Texas Rangers' ballpark in Arlington's entertainment district, between Dallas and Fort Worth. Wikipedia lists its capacity as 40,000-plus and Ballparks of Baseball as 40,300. It opened in 2020 just south of the Rangers' former home, now Choctaw Stadium, and within walking distance of AT&T Stadium and the Texas Live dining complex.

Main Level, Upper Level and Everything Between

The bowl rises in several tiers around a turf field; Ballparks of Baseball counts seven, including suites and clubs. Two concourses circle the entire park, one low and one high, and both keep the field in sight while you walk.

  • Main level, 100s. Wraps from behind the plate down both lines and into the outfield. The team's guide references main-concourse sections such as 113, 123 and 136.
  • Dugout Club. A sunken premium area alongside each dugout, extending toward the foul poles.
  • Suites and clubs. The middle of the stack, with roughly 120 suites and the club seats.
  • Upper level, 200s. The top tier, with its own full-circle concourse; the guide cites section 227 up there.
  • SkyPorch. A left-field bar whose garage doors roll up onto a deck lined with rocking chairs.
  • Video boards. A 58-by-150-foot screen in right and a 40-by-111-foot screen in left.

The main entrance sits in left field and connects to Texas Live. When the roof opens, it slides back and parks behind the third-base grandstand.

Picks for Every Kind of Ticket Buyer

Baseball

  • The best view: main level between the dugouts, rows 10 to 25.
  • Home-team fans: first-base side, near the Rangers dugout.
  • The social crowd: the SkyPorch and outfield areas, built for moving around rather than sitting for nine innings.
  • The budget buyer: upper level between the bases, with the same climate control as the seats below.

Concerts

Stage placement varies by tour. A lower-bowl seat facing the stage generally beats the back half of the floor, which is flat and leaves your view up to the height of the people in front of you. Stadium shows by Green Day, Lady Gaga, Elton John and Morgan Wallen have played here, and Wallen's October 2022 concert set the attendance record of 43,598.

Other events

College football, rodeo and pro wrestling have all used the building. For football, the field runs with the end zones at left field and first base, so check your listing's map carefully.

Three Seat Types to Question

  • Low rows down the lines. Protective netting here extends all the way into the outfield, so the front rows watch every pitch through it.
  • High outfield corners in the 200s. A long way from the plate, with a sharp angle on the infield.
  • Sky-exposed seats when the roof is open. On the occasional mild day with the roof back, those seats lose the climate control that defines the park.

Demand runs hottest for Opening Day and postseason games; regular home dates run from late March or early April through September, about 81 in all.

Driving In: Lettered Lots and Tailgating

No rail line serves Arlington's stadiums, so plan on a car or rideshare.

  • Lots by letter. The Rangers' guide names general lots such as M, N, D, L and V. Prices differ by lot and climb for Opening Day and the postseason. Buses and RVs park in Lot D.
  • Opening times. Two hours before day games, two and a half hours before night games.
  • Accessible parking. First come, first served in most lots, with a free ADA shuttle to the gates that runs until about 30 minutes after the final out.
  • Tailgating. As of the 2026 season, permitted on grass in most lots, but not in A, B or T. You can tailgate until the second inning ends and for an hour after the game.
  • Rideshare. Use Chapmans Cutoff, south of Stadium Drive and Randol Mill Road.
  • Hotel trolleys. Some Arlington hotels run their own shuttle.

Lot maps and prices change by event; see the Rangers guest guide before you go.

Getting Through the Gates (2026 Season)

Globe Life Field does not use a clear-bag rule. As of the 2026 season, you may bring two soft-sided bags, each no bigger than 16 by 8 by 16 inches. Backpacks are banned unless they are diaper bags, medical bags or Jr. Rangers backpacks within that size. Concerts and special events can set different rules, so confirm before you leave.

  • Doors: 90 minutes ahead of day games, two hours ahead of night games.
  • Food and water: per ticket, a sealed clear quart-size bag of food and a sealed bottle of plain water up to one liter.
  • Tickets: digital only, in the MLB Ballpark app. Screenshots will not scan.
  • Payment: cashless, with reverse ATMs that load cash onto prepaid cards.
  • Leaving and returning: allowed at public gates from doors-open until first pitch.
  • Alcohol: last call after the eighth inning or two and a half hours in, whichever comes first.
  • Smoking: not allowed anywhere inside, vaping included.

The park also offers elevators, accessible restrooms, wheelchair escorts and sensory rooms. A Reserved Seat order is backed by a 100% guarantee.

A Young Ballpark With a Title Already

The ballpark succeeded Globe Life Park in Arlington, where the Rangers played from 1994 through 2019. HKS designed it with VLK Architects, Manhattan Construction built it, and the price came to about 1.1 billion dollars. Its first event, on May 29, 2020, was a high school graduation. The first Rangers game, against the Colorado Rockies on July 24, 2020, was played in an empty building because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

That same autumn, the park served as a neutral site for the NLCS and every game of the World Series, and it took in the National Finals Rodeo, relocated from Las Vegas. Army met Air Force on the field in 2021. In 2023 it hosted the first two games of the World Series, which ended with the Rangers beating Arizona for the club's first championship, and in 2024 it hosted the All-Star Game. The fences stand 329 feet down the left-field line, 407 to center and 326 down the right-field line.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to worry about sun at Globe Life Field?

Rarely. The retractable roof closes against heat and rain for most games. On the occasional mild day with the roof open, seats exposed to the sky lose that protection.

What are the best seats at a Rangers game?

Main-level seats between the dugouts, roughly rows 10 to 25, give the best view. For value, try the upper level between the bases.

Is the Rangers dugout on the first-base or third-base side?

The first-base side. Sit there if you want to be near the home team.

Do bags have to be clear at Globe Life Field?

No. As of the 2026 season, you can bring up to two soft-sided bags up to 16 by 8 by 16 inches, but backpacks are not allowed except diaper, medical and Jr. Rangers bags. Check the current policy before you go.

Is there a train to Globe Life Field?

No. Arlington's stadiums have no rail service, so most fans drive to the lettered lots or use rideshare on Chapmans Cutoff.

What is the biggest crowd at Globe Life Field?

The attendance record is 43,598, set at a Morgan Wallen concert in October 2022.
