National Finals Rodeo Tickets

Ten nights, Dec 3–12, 2026 · mid-level rows see the whole dirt

Rodeo's championship fills a Las Vegas basketball arena for ten December nights, so the seat and the night you choose shape the whole trip.

Upcoming National Finals Rodeo dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

The NFR seat call, made quickly

For the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, aim for the middle rows of the lower level at the Thomas & Mack Center. From there you clear the arena fences and still feel the speed of a roping run or a bull leaving the chute. The 2026 NFR runs December 3 through December 12, one performance (a go-round, meaning one full night of competition) each evening at 5:45 p.m. local time, so you are also choosing a night, not only a row.

  • Best all-around: mid-level rows of the lower bowl, high enough to watch a full barrel pattern without the rail in the way.
  • Best for the full arena: the upper level, where you see every corner of the dirt at once.
  • Closest to the noise: the lowest rows, with the trade-off that gates, fences and arena crews can block part of the floor.
  • No seat at all: an Access ONLY pass, which gets you into the building to watch on big screens but not into the seating bowl.

Rows and levels at the Thomas & Mack, compared

The Thomas & Mack Center is UNLV's basketball arena, home to the Runnin' Rebels since 1983. For the rodeo the floor becomes a dirt arena and capacity rises to 18,645, above the 17,923 it holds for basketball. That bigger floor changes the math. A seat that sits right on top of a basketball court can end up low and flat against a rodeo fence.

Lowest rows of the lower level

You hear hooves, the chute gates and the riders. You also look through or over a working fence line, and in the very first rows the rail and crew can hide part of a run. Choose these if the sensation matters more to you than a complete view.

Middle and upper rows of the lower level

This is the sweet spot. The elevation lifts your eye line over the fences, so a tie-down roping run reads from the box to the tie, and a barrel racer's cloverleaf stays in view the whole way around. Demand concentrates here, so these seats go first.

Upper level

Farther away, but the whole dirt arena fits in one look. Timed events depend on what happens across the entire floor, and from up here you never lose the steer or the horse. A four-sided center-hung LED scoreboard, installed in 2008, fills in replays and times.

Section numbers for the rodeo setup are not published in a stable form from year to year. Before you buy, open the seating map on the listing and find where the bucking chutes and timed-event boxes sit relative to your section. Being near the chutes puts the roughstock events right in front of you; being across from them gives you a straighter look at each ride.

Which of the ten nights to target

The NFR is one of the most consistent sellouts in sports. As of August 2026 the event reported 389 consecutive sold-out performances at the Thomas & Mack Center, and the 2025 run drew 175,846 fans across ten nights. Reserved seats are gone long before December, so most late buyers end up on the resale market, where the night and the location set the price.

  • December 3 (opening night): the first look at the season's top 15 in every event, with the most anticipation in the building.
  • December 12 (the tenth round): the night the average (the combined result across all ten rounds) and the world titles are settled. It carries the heaviest demand.
  • Weekend nights: Friday and Saturday fall on December 4, 5, 11 and 12 in 2026, the easiest nights for out-of-town trips to fit around.
  • Monday through Thursday: the same contestants, usually the easiest seats to find.

Each night also carries a theme. The 2026 schedule lists Golden Night (December 5), Memorial Night (December 6), Pink Night (December 7), Resistol Rookie Night (December 8), Military Night (December 9), Canadian Night (December 10), Legacy Night (December 11) and Patriot Night (December 12). If one of those means something to your group, let it pick the night.

Buying NFR tickets: primary, Access ONLY and resale

  • Primary seller: as of 2026, AXS is the NFR's exclusive primary and secondary ticketing partner, and the event's own site sends buyers there.
  • Access ONLY: a concourse admission, no reserved seat. It opens the building's fan areas, including the Cowboy Corral, the Cowboy+ Bar, the Bull 'N Barrel Saloon, the AXS Fan Zone and the ProRodeo Zone, where the live broadcast runs on screens. The 2026 passes went on sale August 20, 2026.
  • Resale: the main route to a reserved seat once the season is underway.

A practical plan for a multi-night trip: one weeknight in a reserved seat facing the dirt, plus a weekend night with an Access ONLY pass to soak up the crowd. Reserved Seat orders carry a 100% guarantee, which matters when you buy resale for an event that never has open seats.

Seven events, one night: what you will watch

Every performance runs all seven events, and every qualifier competes once per night. The field is the top 15 money earners in each event from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) season, 105 contestants in total.

  • Roughstock (judged rides of eight seconds): bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and bull riding.
  • Timed (fastest clean run wins): tie-down roping; team roping, where a header ropes the horns and a heeler ropes the hind legs; steer wrestling, where the rider leaves the horse to bring a steer down; and barrel racing around three barrels.

Money drives the drama. Each round pays out, the average pays out, and those earnings stack on top of the regular season. Whoever leads an event in money after round ten takes the world title and the PRCA gold buckle, and an all-around title goes to the top earner across more than one event. The 2026 purse is listed at 14,270,736 dollars, and from 2026 each go-round pays the top eight instead of the top six. Western wear is the norm in the stands, and the crowd tracks the standings round by round.

Arriving at the arena and the week around it

The arena is at 4505 S. Maryland Parkway on the UNLV campus in Paradise, Nevada, east of the Strip. Most visitors drive or take a rideshare. Traffic builds before the 5:45 p.m. start every night of the run, weeknights included, so leave early.

  • Parking and maps: arrangements change each year; check the NFR's event site before you go.
  • Bags: the venue sets entry rules and they can change, so confirm the current policy for your night.
  • Hotels: the NFR names sponsor hotels each year; the 2026 list was announced in September 2026.

Outside the arena, Las Vegas turns western for ten days. Cowboy Christmas, a western gift and lifestyle show, runs at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the rodeo, and the schedule also includes the Junior NFR, the Downtown Hoedown and nightly parties. If you cannot get in, the rodeo has aired live on The Cowboy Channel and streamed on the Cowboy+ app since 2020.

How the rodeo landed in Las Vegas

The first National Finals Rodeo was held in 1959 at the Texas State Fair Coliseum in Dallas, and it stayed there through 1961. Los Angeles took it next, at the Los Angeles Sports Arena from 1962 to 1964. Oklahoma City followed, first at State Fair Arena from 1965 to 1978 and then at the Myriad Convention Center from 1979 to 1984.

The move to the Thomas & Mack Center came in 1985, and Las Vegas has held it every December since with one gap. In 2020, COVID-19 restrictions pushed the event to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. It came back the next year. The rodeo now draws more than 170,000 fans to the city over its ten days, and an agreement signed in 2024 keeps it in Las Vegas through 2035.

Frequently asked questions

Are lower-level rows the best seats at the NFR?

Not the very lowest. The first rows put you close to the fences, gates and crews, which can block part of the action. Middle rows of the lower level see over the rail and still feel close.

Is the upper level worth it for the rodeo?

Yes, if you want to follow every run. The upper level shows the full dirt arena at once, which suits timed events, and the center-hung video board fills in replays.

What time does each NFR performance start?

All ten 2026 performances, December 3 through December 12, are listed at 5:45 p.m. local time at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Can I get into the arena without a seat?

An Access ONLY pass admits you to the concourse and fan areas, where the competition plays live on large screens. It does not include a seat in the bowl.

Which NFR night is hardest to get into?

The tenth round on December 12, which settles the average and the world titles. Opening night and the weekend nights also draw heavy demand, while Monday to Thursday rounds are usually easier.

How long will the NFR stay in Las Vegas?

A contract signed in 2024 keeps the rodeo in Las Vegas through 2035. The city has hosted since 1985, apart from 2020, when it moved to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
