Upcoming Shawn Mendes dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Shawn Mendes seats depend on the room size

The right Shawn Mendes seat starts with the venue. Shawn Mendes, the Toronto-born pop singer and guitarist, has played arenas, sloped outdoor amphitheaters and small theaters within a few years. In an arena, buy a lower-bowl section along the side near the stage. At an amphitheater, the middle of the seating bowl usually beats the front sections for sound. In a theater, the first rows of the balcony, at center, can outdo a side seat downstairs.

Room size also drives price pressure. An arena has thousands of seats at many price levels; a theater run offers only a handful, and each is fought over.

Arena seats for a Shawn Mendes show

  • Floor: as close as it gets, but the floor is flat. Beyond the front section, much of the show reaches you through the screens.
  • Lower bowl, sides near the stage: the top choice when the whole show is one man and his guitar. You get height, a close angle and a clear look at his hands.
  • Upper level across from the stage: cheaper, and the whole stage and light show stay in frame.
  • Behind or beside the stage: skip unless the listing states what you can see.

Amphitheaters and theaters: Shawn Mendes up close

Amphitheaters

He has played open-air venues like the Hollywood Bowl and Forest Hills Stadium, where fixed seats climb a hill and some sites add benches or grass at the top. Seats down front are nearest, but the middle of the slope often gives the best mix of sightline and sound. Evening shows outdoors can turn cool, so bring a layer.

Theaters

In a theater of 2,000 to 3,000 seats, nearly every seat is near the stage. The main floor is not automatically the better buy: a front-center balcony seat sees the whole stage, while a far-side orchestra seat sees it at an angle.

A guitar, a band and an acoustic stretch

His concerts rest on voice and guitar, not heavy choreography. He moves from songs with the whole band to quiet solo acoustic passages, and the audience sings much of the set back to him.

The rooms have shifted over time. Illuminate (2017) and his self-titled 2019 world tour were mostly arena runs, London's O2 among the stops. The one stadium came on September 6, 2019, when 50,722 fans filled Toronto's Rogers Centre for a hometown night later released on Netflix as Shawn Mendes: Live in Concert. He then scaled down sharply for a 2024 to 2025 theater run in rooms of roughly two to three thousand, before mixing arenas, outdoor amphitheaters and festival stages in 2025.

Shawn Mendes on the road, 2016 to 2025

  • 2016, Shawn Mendes World Tour: 38 shows, which sold out in minutes.
  • 2017, Illuminate World Tour: arena dates including The O2.
  • 2019, Shawn Mendes: The Tour: March 7 through December 21, 105 dates across five continents and roughly 1.3 million tickets, almost every seat sold.
  • 2022, Wonder: The World Tour: ended after its first seven dates, when he stepped away to look after his mental health.
  • 2024 to 2025, For Friends and Family Only Tour: intimate theaters, in support of Shawn.
  • 2025, On the Road Again Tour: 20 dates between August 2 and October 17, a decade after Handwritten. Europe came first, with The O2 plus the Sziget and Frequency festivals; the North American leg began in late September, took in Boston's TD Garden, Queens's Forest Hills Stadium and Vancouver's Rogers Arena, and finished at the Hollywood Bowl.

As of October 2026, the sources reviewed list no later tour. Anything new will show up in this page's listings.

Presale windows and small-room scarcity

His 2025 tour followed a typical sequence: announced May 29, presales across June 4 and 5, then the public sale on June 6.

  • Presales carry most of the first wave. Most early seats go to fans who registered, card members and venue mailing lists.
  • Small rooms vanish fastest. Theaters and amphitheaters hold far fewer people than arenas, so after the presale, resale is often the only route in.
  • Big cities draw the most competition. Expect the stiffest competition in his hometown of Toronto and in London, Los Angeles and New York.
  • Resale follows the calendar. Prices can start well above face value and may soften near the date, though small-room shows often hold.

Toronto, Vine and four No. 1 albums

Born August 8, 1998, in Toronto, Mendes was found in 2013 thanks to the covers he posted on Vine, an app built around six-second clips. His first four albums, from Handwritten (2015) through Illuminate (2016) and Shawn Mendes (2018) to Wonder (2020), each opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and Shawn arrived on November 15, 2024. "Stitches" went to No. 1 in Britain; his Camila Cabello duet "Señorita" led the Hot 100 in August 2019. His honors include 12 Junos (Canada's top music awards) and three Grammy nominations.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Hollywood Bowl a good place to see Shawn Mendes?

Yes, if you pick well. The front reserved sections are closest, but the middle of the sloped bowl often gives the best balance of view and sound. He closed the 2025 On the Road Again Tour there.

Should I sit on the main floor or the balcony in a theater?

In a theater that size, a balcony seat at front center often sees more than a far-side seat on the main floor. Prioritize a centered view over being on the lower level.

Did Shawn Mendes ever play a stadium?

Once, at home. On September 6, 2019, he drew 50,722 fans to Toronto's Rogers Centre, a show Netflix later released as a concert special.

Has Shawn Mendes canceled a tour?

Yes. In 2022 he stopped Wonder: The World Tour seven shows in to prioritize his mental health.

How did Shawn Mendes get discovered?

He posted short cover videos on Vine and was discovered in 2013.
