Music of the Spheres World Tour

On hold since Sept. 2025 · 13.1M tickets · C-stage side is a sleeper

Coldplay's three-stage stadium show made seats far from the main stage worth having. The tour is on hold, with a 2027 restart expected but unconfirmed.

Upcoming Music of the Spheres World Tour dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Picking a Seat for a Three-Stage Coldplay Show

The short answer: on the Music of the Spheres World Tour, a lower-level seat on the side toward the C-stage was the best value in the stadium, and the upper deck was far better than at a typical stadium concert. The tour itself is not running now. Its latest show was September 12, 2025, at Wembley Stadium in London. Wikipedia describes the tour as paused, with Coldplay expecting to restart in 2027, but as of October 1, 2026, the band's tour page said no dates were scheduled. Treat 2027 as a possibility, not a plan.

Why the seating math changed: Coldplay did not play only from one end. The band moved between three round stages, so a seat that looks distant on a standard stadium map could end up close to the action for part of the night.

Main Stage, B-Stage, C-Stage: How Each Zone Played

The three round stages were joined by runways. Here is what each meant for your view:

  • Main stage: the home of most of the set, framed by two 14-meter circular screens and the "Moonrise," an arched video wall 44 meters across.
  • B-stage: out on the floor, reached by runway. Floor spots along that runway and near the B-stage were close for a good share of the show.
  • C-stage: farther out still, where the band played a late acoustic set. Sections that face it, even well back from the main stage, got an intimate moment that the front rows did not.

The floor, in other words, was not a single zone with one good end. Seats in the upper bowl also earned their keep. Four inflatable LED spheres floated over the crowd, and every fan wore a PixMob wristband (a remotely controlled LED band, made from sugarcane on this tour). From high up, the whole stadium lit in sync, which is part of the show you cannot see from the floor.

Four Acts, Bikes and Kinetic Floors

The set ran in four acts named Planets, Moons, Stars and Home. The Stars act included a dance-music section called "Lightclub." Pollstar credits Coldplay with first bringing PixMob wristbands into live shows, and this tour leaned on them heavily.

Sustainability was built into the staging. Fans could generate power on at least 15 stationary bikes and two kinetic floors (surfaces that convert footsteps into electricity). As of June 2024, the band reported carbon emissions 59 percent lower than on its previous tour.

Where the Tour Went

The opener was March 18, 2022, at the Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica. From there the tour worked through North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Oceania over three and a half years, returning to several regions more than once. In all it reached 80 cities in 43 countries over 225 dates.

U.S. stops in 2022 included Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and East Rutherford, where Bruce Springsteen joined the band at MetLife Stadium. In 2023 the tour played San Diego and Pasadena, home of the Rose Bowl Stadium. Pollstar listed the 2025 North American stadium dates, announced October 8, 2024, as follows:

Overseas the crowds were larger. Two January 2025 shows at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India, each drew more than 111,000, and Wembley hosted ten dates in 2025.

Infinity Tickets and the Coldplay Sale Model

Coldplay sold through an artist presale followed by a general on-sale, with Ticketmaster running North American sales. For the 2025 leg, presale sign-up closed October 10, 2024. The presale opened October 11 at 9 a.m. local time, and the general sale started at noon. The band is among the artists that have publicly rejected dynamic pricing (letting face value rise with demand), so a seat's primary price did not climb during the sale.

The Infinity Ticket was the tour's signature. It was a low-cost ticket released after the main sale for fans priced out of it. The rules were strict:

  • Sold in pairs, with a limit of two per buyer for the 2025 leg.
  • Not transferable, so no resale.
  • Seats assigned at random, anywhere in the stadium.
  • Issued at the box office on show day.

You traded every choice about location for a low face value. For buyers who want to pick a specific section, resale was the alternative, and Reserved Seat orders come with a 100% guarantee.

How the Attendance Record Stacks Up

Billboard's totals, as gathered on Wikipedia, show 1.52 billion US dollars from 13.1 million tickets across 223 reported shows. No concert tour has drawn more people. It was also the first tour by a group to gross more than 1 billion dollars, and it set revenue and attendance marks in Europe and Latin America.

Europe produced the fastest sales. The first European leg moved 1 million tickets in one day; the second moved 1.4 million in a day, a record for a band at that point. Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour grossed more, at a much higher average ticket price, but it drew fewer people. When the Eras Tour closed in December 2024, the Associated Press, citing Pollstar, estimated this tour's gross at 1.14 billion dollars, with three more legs still to come.

Watching for a 2027 Restart

Nothing about a restart is confirmed. If the tour does return, the likely shape is familiar: stadiums, presale registration ahead of a general sale, fixed face values and a later Infinity Ticket release. When dates appear, check whether the B- and C-stages return before you choose a section, since they decide where the value lies. The Coldplay page carries current listings, and coldplay.com/tour posts announcements first.

Frequently asked questions

Where should you sit for the Music of the Spheres stage setup?

Floor spots near the runways and B-stage were close for long stretches, and lower-level sections on the C-stage side got the acoustic set up close. The upper deck was strong too, thanks to the wristband light show.

Is Coldplay still touring Music of the Spheres?

Not at the moment. The tour paused after September 12, 2025, at Wembley Stadium. A 2027 restart is expected, but the band's tour page listed no dates as of October 1, 2026.

Can Infinity Tickets be resold or transferred?

No. Infinity Tickets were non-transferable, sold in pairs with random seat assignments, and picked up at the box office on show day.

Is this the most-attended concert tour ever?

Yes. It sold about 13.1 million tickets, more than any tour before it, and grossed about 1.52 billion US dollars per Billboard figures.

Did Coldplay raise prices with demand on this tour?

No. Coldplay has publicly rejected dynamic pricing, so primary prices for a given seat stayed fixed during the sale.
