EDM and Electronic Concert Tickets

Floor for energy · sound desk for audio · raised seat for visuals

At an electronic show, the floor buys you energy and a raised seat buys you the light show. Pick the format first, then the spot.

Floor, sound desk or seat: choosing your spot

For an electronic show, the main decision is simple: do you want to be inside the crowd or looking at the production? General admission floor tickets put you in the dancing; a reserved seat facing the stage puts the lasers, screens and stage design in front of you. Most fans pick one of four spots.

  • Up front: the loudest, most crowded zone. At a Steve Aoki show it is also where sheet cake, champagne spray and crowd surfers come down.
  • Mid-floor by the sound desk: the console where engineers mix the show, halfway back, is where the engineers tune the system, so the audio is at its best and the screens fill your view.
  • A lower-level seat facing the stage: the whole design is visible at once, which suits production-heavy concerts such as an ODESZA or Porter Robinson date.
  • Middle and upper rows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre: the rake (the steepness of the seating) is so sharp that higher benches clear the crowd and frame the full stage.

At a festival, there is no seat to choose. Main stages pack in well before a headliner, so build your day around the single headliner that matters most to you.

Know which show you are buying

Most listings name the format in the title, and that format decides which ticket makes sense.

  • DJ set: one continuous mix built live from a booth. Marshmello, Steve Aoki and Tiësto mostly play this way.
  • Live show: original songs played on stage, with singing, instruments and a built stage design, the direction ODESZA and Porter Robinson took.
  • Festival slot: a shorter set on a shared bill, and often the most efficient way to catch several big names on one ticket.

Read the title carefully. ODESZA tours a full album-based live show and also books shorter, club-style DJ sets. One artist can play a Las Vegas nightclub on Saturday and headline an arena the following week, and those two nights call for very different tickets.

From nightclub booths to festival main stages

No genre plays a wider range of rooms.

  • Las Vegas clubs: Zedd has been a resident at Zouk Nightclub inside Resorts World Las Vegas since July 2021; Marshmello's bookings include XS Nightclub at Wynn; and Tiësto is on LIV Las Vegas's announced 2026 roster. Entry is normally general admission, and tables (reserved spots with bottle service) are sold on their own.
  • Arenas: across 2017 and 2018, the A Moment Apart Tour sold ODESZA out of major arenas, among them Barclays Center (Brooklyn) and Staples Center (Los Angeles).
  • Amphitheaters: Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver holds 9,525 on 70 rows of benches. Deadmau5 played there on November 1, 2024, in the middle of his 25th-anniversary run, which had opened with a three-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl.
  • Festivals: each March, Ultra Music Festival takes over Bayfront Park in Miami; its Main Stage crowd runs to roughly 60,000, and the 2024 edition drew roughly 165,000 over its three days. Electric Forest sets up in Rothbury, Michigan, where an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 campers hear jam bands alongside the electronic bill. Palm Tree Music Festival, produced by Kygo's company, runs smaller events in resort towns.

Age limits, tiers and sellout patterns

  • Check the age rule first. Ultra's gates are 18-plus, and its VIP passes are 21-plus. Clubs and festivals each set their own limits.
  • Compare tiers by contents. A festival usually sells a ladder of passes, from general admission up through GA+ to VIP, and some add camping or tables, so read what each tier actually includes.
  • Landmark rooms go early. Red Rocks, the Hollywood Bowl and anniversary nights draw travelers, so they tend to sell before an ordinary arena date.
  • Artist-curated events move fast. When Porter Robinson launched Second Sky in Oakland in 2019, the first day went so fast that a second day was added.
  • The crowd is young and goes often. According to Luminate's 2026 live music study, 37 percent of Gen Z concertgoers attended two shows a year by early 2026, up from 29 percent two years earlier, and festival attendance intent reached 23 percent of Americans surveyed, a measure of intent rather than tickets sold (Luminate).

DJ headliners and what their sets feel like

  • Tiësto: the Dutch DJ topped the DJ Mag readers' poll from 2002 through 2004. His sets mix trance-era favorites with crossover hits across clubs, festivals and arenas, and EDC Las Vegas hosted the 2025 premiere of his "In Search of Sunrise" set.
  • Deadmau5: progressive house, played under the lit-up "mau5head" helmet, in clubs, festivals and amphitheaters.
  • Steve Aoki: founder of Dim Mak Records in 1996, whose shows feature inflatable rafts, crowd surfing and cakes thrown at the people up front.
  • Marshmello: hides behind a white helmet shaped like a marshmallow. "Silence," his collaboration with Khalid, is among his pop crossovers, and a 2019 in-game Fortnite concert pulled in over 10 million players on its first day.
  • Zedd: plays song-driven sets with big singalong choruses, and his Foxes collaboration "Clarity" took the Best Dance Recording Grammy.

Electronic acts that perform like bands

  • ODESZA: a Bellingham, Washington, duo (Clayton Knight and Harrison Mills) that stages melodic, emotional shows built on vocal samples, guest singers and long builds.
  • Porter Robinson: broke from formula DJ sets with 2014's Worlds Live tour, and today he handles vocals and synthesizers himself. He is a co-writer of "Clarity," the Zedd single that reached the top 10, and he runs Second Sky.
  • LCD Soundsystem: the Brooklyn dance-punk group led by James Murphy favors long sets and multi-night residencies, and its song "Tonite" earned a Best Dance Recording Grammy.
  • Tame Impala: the recording name of Kevin Parker, who works between rock and dance; the project holds two Best Dance/Electronic Recording Grammys, including one in 2025 for "Neverender" with Justice.

For these acts, an elevated seat squarely facing the stage pays off more than it does at a pure DJ set.

Frequently asked questions

Is a floor ticket or a seat better for an EDM show?

Choose the floor if dancing and crowd energy matter most. Choose an elevated, stage-facing seat for production-heavy shows, where seeing the full light and screen design is the point.

How old do you have to be for Ultra Music Festival?

You must be at least 18 to enter Ultra in Miami, and 21 for its VIP passes. Other festivals and clubs set their own rules, so check each listing.

How can I tell if a ticket is for a DJ set or a live show?

Check the listing title. ODESZA, for example, offers a complete live production as well as shorter DJ sets, and the two are very different experiences.

Where is the best sound at an electronic concert?

Near the sound desk in the middle of the floor, where engineers mix the show. The view of the lights and video walls is also at its best from that spot.

Do electronic artists play Las Vegas residencies?

Yes. Zedd has been resident at Zouk Nightclub since July 2021, Marshmello has booked dates at XS Nightclub, and Tiësto is on LIV Las Vegas's 2026 schedule.
