Best value: lower-deck sideline near the main stage

Most of an Ed Sheeran stadium night is one man, a guitar and a loop pedal, so how far you sit from him matters more than at almost any other stadium show.

Upcoming Ed Sheeran dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

The Ed Sheeran stadium seat, decided

For most fans, the right Ed Sheeran seat is a lower-deck sideline seat (a 100-level section along the long side of the stadium) toward the main stage end. It is raised, angled at the stage and close to the screens, and it costs less than the front of the field. Because so much of the show is a single performer building songs on a loop pedal, being close enough to follow what his hands are doing makes a real difference.

If you want to be near him, the field in front of the main stage or the area around the B-stage (a smaller second stage out in the crowd) is the move. If you want the full spectacle on a budget, sit in the upper deck facing the stage.

Field, lower deck and upper deck compared

  • Front of the field: the closest look at the guitar and loop work. The field is flat, though, and the farther back you go, the less you see; a rear field seat can show you less than a lower-deck seat at the same price.
  • Around the B-stage: on the Loop Tour, a second stage hosts the stripped-back songs, and seats near it can put you a few rows from him for that stretch. Stage placement differs by stadium, so check the map for your date.
  • Lower-deck sidelines: the best balance of view, sound and value in the building.
  • Upper deck facing the stage: the whole production at a distance. In open stadium bowls the sound can arrive late or echo, so center beats the ends.

Sections to think twice about

Seats beside or behind the main stage are the risky buys. Screens, rigging and production gear can block the view, and a solo performer facing forward is hard to see from the side. Buy them only if the listing is clearly sold as side view and you accept the angle. Rear field rows are the other trap: they look close on a seat map, but you will be watching between heads most of the night.

Inside the loop-pedal show

The heart of the concert is Sheeran alone with an acoustic guitar and a loop pedal (a foot-operated recorder that captures a phrase and plays it back, so he can stack guitar, percussion and harmony parts live). Critic Alexis Petridis described the approach as "one unassuming man, his guitar and a loop pedal." On the 2026 Loop Tour he brings a band out for part of the night and moves to the B-stage for quieter songs.

You also get a say. Before the show, a QR code on the screens lets fans request songs, and he works some of those requests into the set. Openers changed during the 2026 North American leg, so confirm the lineup for your date.

Three tours that set records

  • ÷ Tour, 2017 to 2019: from March 16, 2017, to August 26, 2019, he played 260 shows across six continents and sold 8.9 million tickets. Billboard reported that it finished as the highest-grossing tour ever, passing U2's 360° Tour, despite relatively modest ticket prices. Four hometown-area shows in Ipswich closed it out.
  • +–=÷× (Mathematics) Tour, 2022 to 2025: 188 shows and roughly 8.8 million tickets between April 23, 2022, and September 7, 2025. The North American legs ran in 2023 and 2024; his SoFi Stadium show set the venue's single-day attendance record at more than 81,000, and Eminem joined him in Detroit on July 15, 2023.
  • Loop Tour, 2026: launched in Auckland on January 16, 2026, behind the album Play. The 27-date North American leg began at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on June 13 and leans on NFL stadiums such as Soldier Field, Nissan Stadium, MetLife Stadium, SoFi Stadium and AT&T Stadium, along with Petco Park, a three-night stand at Toronto's Rogers Centre and two nights at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. A nor'easter forced the cancellation of two September dates at Gillette Stadium.

The event list on this page shows which Loop Tour dates are still on sale.

Ticket timing for a stadium tour

Sheeran announces stadium runs far ahead. The North American Loop Tour dates were revealed on September 18, 2025, close to nine months before the first show, and that long lead time shapes how the market behaves.

  • Sellers differ by city: his site points to different primary ticket sellers depending on the market, including Ticketmaster and SeatGeek, and artist and venue presales usually come before the public sale.
  • Big cities and weekends lead: those dates draw the strongest demand, while multi-night stands such as Toronto's spread buyers across several shows.
  • Upper deck stays open: field and lower-deck seats hold their value; upper-deck seats are often still available close to the date.
  • Weather is a real factor: outdoor shows can be postponed or canceled, as the Gillette Stadium dates showed.

Halifax, Framlingham and the math-symbol albums

Edward Christopher Sheeran was born on February 17, 1991, in Halifax, West Yorkshire, grew up in Framlingham, Suffolk, and was writing songs by about age 11. Asylum Records signed him in 2011. His albums carry math-symbol titles, and they make up most of the set list.

  • + (2011): a UK No. 1, home of "The A Team."
  • × (2014): the world's second-best-selling album of 2015; "Thinking Out Loud" won two Grammys, Song of the Year among them.
  • ÷ (2017): the top-selling album worldwide that year, with "Shape of You," "Castle on the Hill" and "Perfect," a No. 1 in the US, UK and Australia.
  • Since then: No.6 Collaborations Project (2019), = (2021), − (2023), Autumn Variations (2023) and Play (2025).

Most NFL stadiums enforce a clear-bag policy (bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC, roughly 12 by 6 by 12 inches); check the current rules for your venue, and plan rail or shuttle options for the slow stadium exit. Dates are listed at edsheeran.com.
