Lower-level sideline sees both stages · runway field seats are closest

The Weeknd's stage runs from one end of the stadium to a second platform mid-field, which rewrites the usual rules about which seats are close.

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Weeknd seats: think catwalk, not end stage

The best all-around seat for a Weeknd stadium show is a lower-level sideline section near midfield. From there you look straight down the catwalk that links the main stage to a second stage out on the field, so you see both ends of the show and the full set. If you want to be as close as possible for much of the night, buy a field section beside that runway or near the second stage.

The usual concert logic flips here. Middle-of-the-field and midfield-sideline seats, which would be far from a normal end stage, end up close to a large part of this performance. Seats behind the main stage are the ones to avoid, because the tall set blocks much of the view.

Field, sideline, end zone and upper deck ranked

Stadium field layouts differ, so confirm on your listing's map where the catwalk and second stage sit.

  • Lower-level sideline, near midfield: first choice. Raised, centered and in line with the runway.
  • Field, along the catwalk or by the second stage: closest for long stretches. The field is flat, so being near the runway matters more than being near the front.
  • Field, directly in front of the main stage: superb for main-stage songs, but you may see the second-stage segments from behind.
  • Lower-level end sections facing the stage: a head-on view of the production, and closer to the second stage than the map suggests.
  • Upper deck: the value tier. Fire, lights and the city set read well from up high, but you will watch faces on the screens.
  • Behind the stage or limited view: skip unless the listing explains exactly what you can see.

The ruined city on the field

After Hours til Dawn is staged as a city after a disaster. Wrecked buildings modeled on Toronto line the main stage. The catwalk runs out to a square second stage under a giant inflatable moon. European legs added chrome skyscrapers, and later versions brought a large gold sculpture, bigger LED screens and pyrotechnics.

He spends real time on the runway and the far platform, which is why seat value spreads across the whole stadium rather than piling up at one end.

After Hours til Dawn by year

  • 2022: 22 North American stadium dates from July 14. On September 3 at SoFi Stadium he lost his voice three songs in, stopped the show and rescheduled it.
  • 2023: 43 shows in Europe and Latin America.
  • 2024: four shows in Australia.
  • 2025: 42 North American stadium dates.
  • 2026: Europe, Latin America and Asia, including six straight sold-out nights at the Stade de France in July. His website, as of October 2026, listed the closing run through Singapore, Seoul, Bangkok and Hong Kong, ending at the national stadium in Kuala Lumpur on November 5, 2026.

The tour has been reported as the highest-grossing ever by a male solo artist, with attendance above 5 million across roughly 170 shows. Openers changed by leg, among them Kaytranada, Mike Dean, Snoh Aalegra, Playboi Carti and Anitta. If new dates are announced, they will show up in this page's event list.

Reading Weeknd stadium demand

A stadium date has a huge amount of inventory, and the gap between field, lower-level and upper-deck tickets is wide. A few patterns repeat:

  • Presales carry the first wave. Fan-club, cardholder and sign-up presales typically release most tickets before the general on-sale.
  • Extra nights loosen the first. When a city adds a second or third show, resale prices for the original night often ease.
  • Runway field seats stay firm. They are the scarcest category and usually the last to drop.

From anonymous mixtapes to a Super Bowl stage

Abel Tesfaye was born in Toronto on February 16, 1990, and grew up in Scarborough. In 2011 he released three mixtapes without revealing who he was, House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence, later bundled as Trilogy (2012). The studio albums run Kiss Land (2013), Beauty Behind the Madness (2015), Starboy (2016), After Hours (2020), Dawn FM (2022) and Hurry Up Tomorrow (2025).

He has won four Grammy Awards and headlined the Super Bowl LV halftime show on February 7, 2021. In 2023 he said he planned to retire the Weeknd name, calling the next album a likely last chapter under it.

Frequently asked questions

Are midfield sideline seats good for The Weeknd?

Yes, they are among the best. On this tour the catwalk and second stage bring the show toward the middle of the field, so lower-level sideline seats near midfield see both stages.

Should I avoid seats behind the stage?

In most cases. The ruined-city set is tall and blocks much of the view from the rear, so only buy those seats if the listing spells out what is visible.

Where does the After Hours til Dawn Tour finish?

His website, as of October 2026, listed the last show on November 5, 2026, at the national stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Has The Weeknd ever canceled a show mid-set?

Yes. On September 3, 2022, at SoFi Stadium, he lost his voice three songs in, stopped the concert and rescheduled it.

Is The Weeknd retiring?

In 2023 he said he intended to retire the Weeknd name and described the next album as likely the final chapter under it.
