Residencies run for weeks · Sphere favors the 200 level · roofed NFL

Residencies that repeat for months, a screen that wraps the room at Sphere and three major-league teams close to the Strip. Choose the night, then the seat.

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

The Las Vegas seat decision, made simple

Las Vegas gives you an advantage most cities do not: many shows repeat. A residency (a run of shows by one artist in one room, often for weeks or months) lets you compare a Tuesday with a Saturday and choose the seat first, the night second. Touring concerts and games are one-off dates, so there you pick the seat inside a fixed night.

Three rules cover most decisions. At Sphere, the screen is the show, so sit high enough to take it in. At Allegiant Stadium, the roof removes weather from the equation, so pick for sightline alone. At T-Mobile Arena and the resort theaters, closer is usually better, because the rooms are compact.

  • Teams: the Las Vegas Raiders (NFL), the Vegas Golden Knights (NHL) and the Las Vegas Aces (WNBA).
  • Big rooms: the football stadium, two NHL- and WNBA-ready arenas, MGM Grand's arena, Sphere and the Colosseum.
  • An address quirk: technically, most Strip venues are in unincorporated Paradise rather than the city proper. That matters to tax maps, not to you.

Sphere, the Colosseum and the residency rooms

Sphere

Sphere opened behind the Venetian in September 2023. It seats about 17,600 beneath a 16K screen that curves over the audience. U2 opened the building, and Metallica has announced a run from October 2026 into 2027; between concert nights the venue screens its own films. Your best bet is the center of the 200 level, where the whole screen fills your view. The floor puts you close to the band but under the image, and the back rows of the 100 level sit beneath an overhang that cuts off the top of the picture.

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace

This 4,100-seat theater was built in 2003 as Celine Dion's home stage; across two residencies she logged 1,141 performances in it. Elton John and Adele followed. Its small size means the upper rows are still close by arena standards, so a center seat upstairs can beat a far-side seat downstairs.

How to shop a residency

Open several dates side by side. Midweek nights usually have more seats left in the sections you want, while weekends that collide with a fight card or a Raiders game tend to sell first.

Arena and stadium seats for games and tours

Allegiant Stadium

Allegiant Stadium opened in 2020 on the far side of Interstate 15 from the Strip. Its 65,000 seats (expandable to about 71,800) sit beneath a fixed, translucent, climate-controlled roof. Sideline seats near midfield give the cleanest view of a game. The Raiders were founded in Oakland in 1960, played in Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994, and have won three Super Bowls. Visiting fans travel here in large numbers, so expect a mixed crowd. UNLV plays its home football games here, the Las Vegas Bowl is set for New Year's Eve 2026, and stadium concert tours stop here too. The building has also landed headline events: the Super Bowl (Super Bowl LVIII, February 2024), WrestleMania two years running in 2025 and 2026, and Super Bowl LXIII, which the NFL has awarded to the stadium for 2029.

T-Mobile Arena

T-Mobile Arena opened in 2016, tucked beside Park MGM and New York-New York. Hockey capacity is 17,500 and concert capacity reaches roughly 20,000, with UFC and boxing filling other nights. The Golden Knights arrived as an expansion team in 2017 and lifted the Stanley Cup six seasons later, in 2023. For hockey, a center-ice seat in the lower bowl shows plays develop; for a fight, any seat close to the ring is the premium.

Other arenas

  • Michelob Ultra Arena, inside the Mandalay Bay resort, holds 12,000. The Aces have played here since 2018 and won three championships, and the Latin Grammys have come here seven times.
  • MGM Grand Garden Arena, roughly 17,000 seats and open since 1993, is the room where many boxing superfights happened; the Grammy Awards moved here for 2022.

Baseball is a smaller story for now. The Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators call Summerlin's Las Vegas Ballpark home. The Athletics intend to move into a new Strip ballpark of about 33,000 seats, with completion projected for roughly 2028, a target rather than a promise.

Stand-up rooms inside the casinos

Comedy here sits inside the resorts, which makes dinner and a set an easy pairing.

  • Comedy Cellar Las Vegas, a 2018 offshoot of the famous Greenwich Village club, operates inside the Rio off West Flamingo Road. Admission is 18 and over, with a government photo ID check.
  • Brad Garrett's Comedy Club launched in 2010 at the Tropicana; since late 2011 it has been at the MGM Grand, where Garrett himself is a frequent performer.
  • Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club is a 2019 venture with Caesars Entertainment, located along the LINQ Promenade.
  • Laugh Factory runs a Las Vegas club; confirm its current location on the listing.

The largest names in stand-up, among them Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chappelle and Chelsea Handler, have played the Colosseum. Age limits differ by room, so read the listing before buying.

Busy weeks and quieter nights on the Las Vegas calendar

  • Late summer into January: Raiders and UNLV football at Allegiant Stadium.
  • October into April: Golden Knights hockey, with playoff games into spring when the team advances.
  • Summer: the WNBA season, with Aces games at Mandalay Bay.
  • November: Formula 1's Las Vegas Grand Prix, run at night since 2023 on a 6.2-kilometer street layout whose longest straight (about 1.9 kilometers) follows the Strip. Road closures and hotel demand spike that week.
  • December: rodeo's National Finals, a December fixture at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center since 1985, then the college bowl game on New Year's Eve 2026.
  • All year: residencies, Sphere films, fight cards and comedy.

Demand stacks when several big events share a weekend. If your dates are flexible, midweek is usually the simpler night for residencies and comedy.

Walking, trams and the Monorail to your seat

  • T-Mobile Arena: a two- to three-minute stroll from Park MGM or New York-New York. Two free resort trams (one linking Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur, the other Park MGM, Aria and Bellagio) and the MGM Grand Monorail station leave you a short walk away.
  • Allegiant Stadium: start on Las Vegas Boulevard by Mandalay Bay or Luxor and cross the Hacienda Bridge; it is less than a mile, or 10 to 15 minutes walking. Buy parking before game day; rideshare pickups and drop-offs happen in Lot N off Dean Martin Drive.
  • Sphere: a footbridge connects it with the Venetian. Parking at the building is scarce, so walking in or using a neighboring garage is the norm.
  • Resort venues: because Michelob Ultra Arena and the Colosseum are part of their casinos, plan dinner in the same building.

Bag limits are tight. Here are the limits as of fall 2026: at T-Mobile Arena, bags no larger than 9 by 5 by 2 inches; at Sphere, roughly 6 by 6 by 2 inches; at Allegiant Stadium, clear bags only (up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches). Policies change, so read the arena's A–Z guest guide or your venue's page before you leave.

Planning a Las Vegas trip around a show

  • Book the hotel to match the venue. Staying at the south end of the Strip puts the hockey arena, the football stadium and the Aces' arena within walking range. The Venetian side is the base for Sphere.
  • Expect longer walks than the map suggests. Resort frontages are huge, and summer heat makes a mile feel longer.
  • Let the residency calendar work for you. With many dates open at once, the section you want is often available on a different night.
  • Check the event weeks first. Grand Prix week and rodeo week reshape traffic and hotel rates.

Reserved Seat orders include guaranteed entry, so the ticket you buy is the ticket that gets you in.

Frequently asked questions

Where should you sit at Sphere?

The center of the 200 level usually gives the fullest view of the wraparound screen. Rear 100-level rows sit under an overhang, and the floor is close to the stage but low relative to the image.

Is it better to see a residency midweek or on a weekend?

Midweek dates usually leave more choice in the sections you want. Weekends that overlap with fights, Raiders games or big conventions tend to sell first.

Does weather matter at Allegiant Stadium?

No. The stadium has a fixed translucent roof and climate control, so every seat is indoors.

Which comedy clubs are inside Strip resorts?

Three well-known clubs fit that description: Comedy Cellar (Rio), Brad Garrett's (MGM Grand) and Jimmy Kimmel's (LINQ Promenade). Comedy Cellar admits guests 18 and over and checks photo ID.

How far is the walk from the Strip to Allegiant Stadium?

Less than a mile. Cross the Hacienda Bridge from the Boulevard near Luxor and Mandalay Bay and you will be at the gates in 10 to 15 minutes.

Are the Athletics playing in Las Vegas yet?

Not yet. The franchise is planning a Strip ballpark of roughly 33,000 seats; the projected opening is around 2028.
