Upcoming Las Vegas Bowl dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Las Vegas Bowl seats at a glance

For most fans, the right Las Vegas Bowl seat is on a lower-level sideline, row 15 or higher. For value, go to the upper bowl, the 300 level, inside the 20s. This year's game is a New Year's Eve matinee: Thursday, December 31, 2026, 12:45 p.m. Pacific, on ESPN, at Allegiant Stadium, the Raiders' domed stadium roughly a mile off the Strip.

The roof is fixed and translucent, so there is no sun, rain or wind to factor in. Your decision is purely about level, angle and row.

Allegiant Stadium's tiers, explained

The building holds 65,000, and its levels are numbered by tier:

  • 100 level: the lower bowl, nearest the field.
  • C-prefixed sections: field-level club seating.
  • 200 level: suites and loge seats, a raised view close to the field, usually priced above the bulk of the 100 level.
  • 300 level: the upper bowl.
  • 400 level: the highest seats in the house.

For a deeper look at the layout, see the Allegiant Stadium guide on this site.

Rows and angles: what to buy and what to avoid

Buy

  • Lower sideline, row 15 and up. You clear the players and staff standing along the bench and still feel close.
  • 300 level, 20 to 20. You can watch every route and blocking scheme develop, and demand runs lower than downstairs.
  • 200-level loge if you want a premium angle and do not mind paying for it.

Avoid

  • Front rows of the lower end zones. They look close on a seating map, but from field level, action near the opposite goal line looks flat and distant. Higher end zone rows read plays better.
  • 400-level corners and end zones. If you go up top, stay near midfield, or the far goal line feels very distant.

Supporters usually sit downstairs behind their own team's bench, so check which side each school gets once teams are named.

How much the matchup moves the market

Bowl crowds at Allegiant have never approached capacity. The smallest was 20,897, for Northwestern against Utah in 2023; the largest since the move, 38,879, came when Utah met Nebraska in 2025. That gap is the matchup at work. Programs whose fans travel in numbers, and western schools within a quick drive or flight, push demand up. Vegas is simple to reach, so a big-name opponent can bring thousands for a long holiday weekend. When that happens, the lower sideline near midfield tightens first. With smaller traveling crowds, plenty of resale seats can remain right up to game week.

Lately the teams have come from power conferences: per Wikipedia, the Big Ten sent teams in 2023 and 2025, the SEC in 2022 and 2024, and the Pac-12 supplied the opponent in both 2024 and 2025. As of early October 2026, ESPN Events had not named this year's conferences, so wait for the early-December announcement.

Planning around New Year's Eve in Vegas

The date moves around. Over the last several seasons the game has landed anywhere from mid-December (the 15th in 2018) to the last day of the year (2025), and the 2020 edition was canceled by the pandemic. This season it falls on December 31 again, and that changes the trip:

  • Book early. Few nights draw bigger crowds to Las Vegas than December 31. Rooms and flights go fast, so reserve once your team is in, or before if the matchup does not matter to you.
  • Use the early finish. A 12:45 p.m. start wraps up in late afternoon, so you can be back at your hotel well before the evening rush.
  • Expect congestion. Traffic and foot traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard will be heavier than a normal game day, so give yourself extra time after the final whistle.

Walking over from the Strip

The address is 3333 Al Davis Way, on the far side of I-15 from Mandalay Bay. From a Strip hotel, your feet are usually the fastest option.

  • Hacienda Bridge: a walking route that starts on the Boulevard by Luxor and Mandalay Bay and covers less than a mile.
  • Rideshare: pickups and drop-offs have used Lot N, at 5285 Dean Martin Drive, near its entrance.
  • Parking: buy event parking in advance on the SpotHero app.
  • Bags: the 2025 rule permitted one clear bag of plastic, vinyl or PVC, no more than 12 inches long, 6 wide and 12 tall, plus a palm-size clutch (4.5 inches by 6.5, 2 deep).
  • Payment: parking and concessions have been cashless.

A bowl can set its own rules, and policies shift from year to year; review the stadium's guest information before game day. Every Reserved Seat order includes guaranteed entry.

Raisin Bowl roots and Las Vegas Bowl highlights

The game grew out of Fresno's California Raisin Bowl (1981–1991) and kept that game's Big West versus Mid-American Conference champions format until 1997. From 1992 to 2019 it played at Sam Boyd Stadium in Whitney, Nevada, which held 40,000. The Mountain West was its anchor conference for 21 seasons, 1999 to 2019. Allegiant Stadium took over in 2021, bringing a bigger stage and Power Four opponents.

  • 1995: Toledo beat Nevada 40–37 in overtime, the first Division I-A game ever decided that way.
  • 2006: BYU and Oregon drew 44,615, still the record.
  • 2024: USC edged Texas A&M by four, 35–31.
  • 2025: Utah beat Nebraska by 22, 44–22.
