Upcoming AJR dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
The AJR seat call, up front
For most buyers, the right AJR ticket is a raised seat in the lower bowl (the first tier of arena seating above the floor) directly across from the stage. AJR builds every concert as a staged production, with lighting cues, comic sketches and a planned finale, and that production is designed to be watched head-on. A seat 20 rows back on center often shows you more of the night than a floor spot near the front corner.
The exceptions are simple. If you want to stand, jump and sing with the most committed fans, buy the front of the floor. If you are watching cost, buy the front rows of the upper level on center rather than the high corners.
Floor, lower bowl, upper level: what each AJR seat gives up
- Front of the floor: the loudest, most physical part of the room. On a general-admission floor (standing, no assigned spots), how early you line up decides where you end up.
- Back of the floor: the weakest value in the building. The floor is flat, so from mid-floor back you see heads and screens, and much of the stage picture disappears.
- Lower bowl, center: the full picture. You look over the crowd at the whole stage, and you sit near the soundboard, where the mix is tuned.
- Lower bowl, side sections near the stage: close and raised, but the sharp angle hides part of the set and flattens some lighting effects. A section a few steps back from the stage line is a better trade.
- Upper level: a sensible budget pick for a band whose show is built on light, which reads well from height. Center beats corners.
Families often choose reserved seats over the floor, both for the view and because children are not stuck in a standing crowd for two hours.
Outdoor nights at Red Rocks and the Hollywood Bowl
AJR has headlined Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Hollywood Bowl, and both rooms change the advice. In a bowl or amphitheater, the middle sections give the cleanest view of the production, and the far sides lose part of it. Higher rows are a fair value, because the lighting carries after dark and the slope keeps sightlines open.
Plan on extra time. Lines to get into large outdoor venues can run long, and at a hillside site like Red Rocks the walk from parking is part of the evening.
Why the staging changes your seat choice
The brothers design the comedy bits and the closing sequence themselves, and the concert moves from song to song through timed lighting, sound effects and short comic interludes. It plays more like a theater piece than a run of singles. That is the reason this page keeps pointing you toward a straight-on view: the visual jokes and cues land best from the angle they were designed for.
Expect the energy to peak on the floor near the stage, and expect the clearest read of the show from the raised seats behind it.
Five tours in seven years
The band moved from amphitheater headliner to arena act quickly. The record below comes from this page's sources; dates on sale now appear in the live event list.
- Neotheater World Tour, 2019 to 2020: the run that sold out Red Rocks on October 5, 2019. Its second leg was postponed and then canceled because of COVID-19.
- OK Orchestra Tour, 2021 to 2022: built around the 2021 album of that name.
- The Maybe Man Tour, 2024: announced on November 8, 2023, and the first AJR tour played entirely in arenas.
- Somewhere in the Sky Tour, 2025: guests included Cavetown and Quinn XCII. Its Hollywood Bowl stop was released as Live at the Hollywood Bowl on March 27, 2026.
- The Northwest Tour, spring 2026: a shorter swing through smaller markets such as Idaho Falls, Colorado Springs, Bend and Nampa.
Buying AJR tickets without guessing
The band grew its audience online and on radio, and a large share of the best inventory moves before the public sale.
- Presales come first. Fan-list and venue presales usually open ahead of the general on-sale, and floor spots near the stage tend to go in that window.
- New York carries weight. The brothers formed the band in New York City, so area dates draw a hometown crowd.
- Weekends tighten earlier. Friday and Saturday shows generally sell through before a weeknight show in the same region.
- Landmark venues draw extra interest. Shows at rooms like the Hollywood Bowl, or dates tied to a recording, attract fans from out of town.
Resale listings can land above or below face value and tend to shift in the last weeks before a show. Each Reserved Seat order comes with guaranteed entry. Tour news is posted on the band's tour page.
The Met brothers, briefly
AJR takes its name from the first initials of Adam, Jack and Ryan Met. They started the group in New York City in 2005 and played for passersby in the city's parks before radio found them. They still write, produce and mix their records, much of it in a living room studio.
Their studio catalog runs through Living Room in 2015, The Click in 2017, Neotheater in 2019, OK Orchestra in 2021 and The Maybe Man in 2023. Their first top-ten hit entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 8, "Weak" made the top 30 in more than 25 countries, and eight AJR singles have gone platinum, "World's Smallest Violin" among them.
Frequently asked questions
Is the floor or the lower bowl better for AJR?
The lower bowl facing the stage shows the full production and sits near the soundboard. The floor is better only if you want to stand close; from mid-floor back, the flat surface hides much of the stage.
What does AJR stand for?
The band name is made from the first initials of the three Met brothers: Adam, Jack and Ryan.
When did AJR start playing arenas?
The Maybe Man Tour in 2024 was the band's first all-arena tour. Before that, AJR headlined amphitheaters such as Red Rocks.
Are upper-level seats worth it for AJR?
Yes, if you sit near center. The show leans on lighting and staging that read well from height, while high corner seats lose more of the picture.
Did AJR release a live album?
Yes. Live at the Hollywood Bowl, recorded during the 2025 Somewhere in the Sky Tour, came out on March 27, 2026.
