Upcoming Gorillaz dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
Seeing band and screen together: the Gorillaz rule
Choose your angle before your distance. A Gorillaz concert pairs a large live band, led by Damon Albarn, with Jamie Hewlett's animation on a big screen above or behind the stage. The best seats see both at once, and that usually means a lower-bowl section looking straight at the stage.
In North America the band mostly headlines arenas with an end stage (the stage at one end, the crowd facing it). For that layout:
- Buy: lower bowl facing the stage, or upper level at center for value.
- Consider: the front of the floor, if being close to Albarn and the guests outweighs the screen.
- Skip: side sections tight to the stage and anything sold as behind the stage or limited view.
Where each Gorillaz seat wins or loses
Lower bowl, facing the stage
The full picture: musicians, guest vocalists and the animation in one view. This is the section to target.
Front of the floor
The most energy and the closest look at the performers. The trade-off is a steep upward angle to the screen and heads in the way.
Back of the floor
On a flat floor, anyone of average height sees less from here than from a raised seat. Low value for this show.
Sides near the stage
The section to avoid. At a sharp angle the main screen can drop partly or completely out of sight, and the animation is half of what the ticket buys.
Upper level, center
A smart value pick. The visuals are designed to read from far away.
Read the seating map on each listing; a seat labeled limited view at a Gorillaz show may miss the screen entirely.
From hidden musicians to a visible band
Gorillaz is a virtual band. On screen it is four cartoon characters, 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs. The live show has evolved in three stages:
- 2001: the first tour put the players entirely behind a giant cinema screen. Albarn later said he found it frustrating.
- 2005 and 2006: the Demon Days Live residencies at the Manchester Opera House and the Apollo Theater in New York showed the band in silhouette.
- 2010 onward: from the Escape to Plastic Beach Tour, the musicians perform in full view with the animation running above or behind.
Guest vocalists step in for their parts, and the lineup changes by city. On The Mountain Tour, Del the Funky Homosapien, Bootie Brown, Little Simz and Black Thought were among those who appeared at selected dates.
Albarn and Hewlett's catalog
Albarn, of Blur, and Hewlett, co-creator of the comic Tank Girl, launched the project in London in 1998. The music crosses alternative rock, hip-hop, electronic music and dub.
- Gorillaz (2001): the debut, carried by "Clint Eastwood."
- Demon Days (2005): the best-selling album, with "Feel Good Inc.," "Dare" and "Dirty Harry." "Feel Good Inc." won a Grammy.
- The 2010s: Plastic Beach (2010), Humanz (2017) and The Now Now (2018).
- The 2020s: Song Machine, Season One (2020), Cracker Island (2023) and The Mountain (2026), shaped by music and themes from India.
Gorillaz tours and big nights, 2010 to 2027
- 2010: headline sets at Coachella and Glastonbury, then the Escape to Plastic Beach Tour, the band's first world tour.
- 2017 to 2018: the Humanz Tour, plus the band's own Demon Dayz Festival in Margate (2017) and Los Angeles (2018).
- 2022: a world tour through South America, Europe, Australia and North America that previewed songs later released on Cracker Island.
- 2025: House of Kong, a run at London's Copper Box Arena with the first three albums played in full and a preview of The Mountain.
- The Mountain Tour (March 2026 to January 2027): included the band's first stadium headline show, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on June 20, 2026, and its first shows in India. The North American leg, with Deltron 3030 and Little Simz supporting, was booked from Orlando on September 17 to Seattle on October 31, 2026, with arenas such as Madison Square Garden, United Center, Moody Center and the Kia Forum and a Shaky Knees set in Atlanta.

Album cycles, extra dates and presales
Gorillaz tours arrive in bursts around new albums, with long gaps between them; the band went quiet from 2012 until 2017. That stop-start pattern concentrates demand when shows are announced. When The Mountain Tour went on sale in the UK and Ireland, Manchester and Dublin each got extra dates.
- Presales absorb the best seats. Fan, artist and promoter presales usually come before the public on-sale, and the center lower-bowl inventory often goes there.
- Large markets carry the most resale interest. New York, Los Angeles and other big cities tend to see the strongest secondary demand.
- A festival set is its own ticket. Gorillaz at a festival requires a festival pass, not a headline ticket.
Reserved Seat charges no digital transfer fees. Announcements from the band appear on gorillaz.com.
Frequently asked questions
Which seats lose the screen at a Gorillaz concert?
Side sections close to the stage and seats behind or beside it. At a sharp angle the main screen can be partly or fully hidden.
Are real musicians on stage at Gorillaz shows?
Yes. Damon Albarn leads a large live band with backing singers and guest vocalists, and since 2010 they have performed in full view with the animation on screen.
Is the floor a good choice for a Gorillaz show?
The front of the floor is close and lively but looks up at the screen at a steep angle. Farther back, a flat floor makes a raised lower-bowl seat the better view.
Where was the first Gorillaz stadium concert?
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, on June 20, 2026, during The Mountain Tour.
Who are the Gorillaz characters?
The four cartoon members are 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs, drawn by co-creator Jamie Hewlett.
