Pit goes to the Church Choir · lower bowl facing the stage for sound

Eric Church's long, shifting sets reward a seat with good sound, and his fan-club and will-call rules decide which seats you can buy at all.

Upcoming Eric Church dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Two decisions: which seat, and which seats you can buy

At an Eric Church show, buy for sound and a full view of the stage: a lower-bowl section facing the stage in an arena or stadium, a center pavilion seat at an amphitheater, or the middle rows at Red Rocks. His sets run long and lean hard on the band, recently including strings and horns, so hearing the whole thing clearly is worth more than pressing against the stage.

The second decision is about access. On recent tours the pit (the standing area right in front of the stage) has gone to members of his fan club, the Church Choir, with pickup at will-call. That leaves reserved seats as the main market for everyone else.

Arena and stadium seating

Arenas

  • Pit: on the Free the Machine Tour it was reserved for Church Choir members; the section on fan-club rules below has the details.
  • Lower bowl facing the stage: you hear a balanced mix and see the whole band, including horns and strings when they are part of the lineup.
  • Upper level, center: the value pick for a long listening show.
  • Extreme sides near the stage: skip them. Speaker towers and the wings of the stage get in the way.

Stadiums

Field seats get you nearest the band; for listening, though, a lower-level seat straight across from the stage wins. Upper decks are distant and sound can bounce around a large bowl, so pick center over the ends.

Red Rocks and other amphitheaters

Red Rocks is an outdoor venue in Colorado set on a sharp slope, and Church's recent dates there were general admission (no assigned seats). Because the rows climb so steeply, few people block anyone behind them, and the sound is strongest about halfway up. Get there early: on July 6, 2026, fans were queuing before 10 in the morning for doors at 6 in the evening.

At other sheds, a centered seat under the pavilion roof sounds far better than the grass behind it. Choose the lawn if you want a relaxed, lower-cost night and do not mind watching the screens.

Long sets and a list that never repeats

Church has built his career on playing too long. Early on, Rascal Flatts dropped him as an opener because he kept overrunning his slot, and his headline shows grew out of that instinct. In 2017 he toured with no support act at all, filling the night with two sets split by an intermission. A 2026 example shows how far he will go: celebrating two decades since his first record, his July 6 Red Rocks show ran through Sinners Like Me from start to finish, added rarities from his club years and left out everything from his three latest studio albums.

Because the set changes nightly, a lot of fans travel to more than one show. His 2025 to 2026 arena run bent that rule only slightly. The new album's eight tracks opened the show in sequence every night, backed by a string section, horn players and extra singers, and the remainder changed constantly, using more than 80 different songs over the run. Budget for a show that can run past two hours and plan the late exit.

Church Choir, will-call and the scalper fight

Church has been one of the loudest voices in country music against ticket scalping, and his rules show it.

  • Fan club first: the Church Choir gives members the first chance to buy, through presales ahead of the public sale. A premium tier adds extra features.
  • Will-call pit: pit spots on the 2025 to 2026 arena tour were members-only and collected in person at will-call (the venue's pickup window), so they rarely reach resale.
  • Mass cancellations: in February 2017 roughly 25,000 seats for that year's tour were voided after his team flagged them as scalper purchases.

In practice, the closest standing area and parts of the front are off the open market, so read any listing's transfer and pickup terms before you buy. Destination shows like Red Rocks, multi-night runs and Friday or Saturday dates are the hardest to get; midweek arena nights and the upper tiers tend to have seats the longest. Tours from 2017 to the 2027 stadium dates

  • 2017, Holdin' My Own Tour: 62 North American arena dates between January 13 and May 27 with no opener, closing in Nashville with a pair of sellouts; the Saturday crowd of 19,020 set a Bridgestone Arena attendance record.
  • 2019 to 2023: the Double Down Tour, the Gather Again Tour (2021 to 2022) and the Outsiders Revival Tour, all part of his headline history.
  • 2025 to 2026, Free the Machine Tour: 46 arena shows that began in Pittsburgh on September 12, 2025, and wrapped in Tampa on April 11, 2026.
  • Summer 2025 and 2026: a three-night Red Rocks stand each July (the 2025 shows sold out; the 2026 run was July 6 to 8) and a pair of Lake Tahoe Amphitheatre shows a week later.
  • 2027: his site, checked in October 2026, showed an Australian swing in March (Sydney and Melbourne arenas plus the CMC Rocks festival) followed by spring stadium shows, among them Tampa (April 24), Arlington (May 8) and Minneapolis (May 22).

Off the regular calendar, he and Luke Combs put together Concert for Carolina, a Hurricane Helene benefit held in Charlotte on October 26, 2024. Use the ticket listings attached to this page for current dates.

Granite Falls to Entertainer of the Year

Kenneth Eric Church was born on May 3, 1977, in Granite Falls, North Carolina, and studied marketing at Appalachian State University. His first album, Sinners Like Me, arrived in 2006, and his music pulls from Southern rock and country rock at least as much as from radio country. Chief (2011), the album behind "Springsteen" and "Drink in My Hand," topped the chart, a first for him, and took CMA Album of the Year in 2012. He was named CMA Entertainer of the Year in 2020, sang the national anthem at Super Bowl LV with Jazmine Sullivan, and released his eighth studio album, Evangeline vs. the Machine, in May 2025. He also holds a minority stake in the NBA's Charlotte Hornets, and in April 2024 he opened Chief's, a downtown Nashville bar with a performance stage.

Big buildings often limit bag size or require clear bags. Confirm the rules for your venue shortly before the show.

Frequently asked questions

Is Red Rocks general admission for Eric Church?

Yes, his recent shows there had no assigned seats. Fans queue early; in July 2026 people were in line by mid-morning for evening doors.

Why did Eric Church cancel thousands of tickets?

His team flagged roughly 25,000 seats for the 2017 tour as scalper purchases and voided them in February of that year.

Does Eric Church have an opening act?

Where is Eric Church playing stadiums in 2027?
