Upcoming Chris Stapleton dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
Buy for sound at a Stapleton show
At a Chris Stapleton concert, pick the seat with the best sound and a clean sightline, not the one pressed against the stage. In an amphitheater that means reserved pavilion seats in the middle rows, center. In an arena it means the lower bowl facing the stage. Everything on stage serves that voice, with a road-tested band pulling from country, blues, soul and Southern rock, loud and live. It is a show for listeners.
The touring banner is the All-American Road Show. Outdoor sheds and indoor arenas make up most nights; now and then a ballpark or stadium joins the routing.
Amphitheater seating: pavilion versus lawn
An amphitheater pairs a covered pavilion of reserved seats near the stage with a general admission lawn behind it.
- Center pavilion, middle rows: the top pick, where the mix is balanced and you stay dry if the weather turns.
- Rear pavilion under the roof edge: the overhang can clip the top of the video screens, so a few rows forward is better.
- Lawn: the easygoing, lower-cost choice. Sound carries well, but most of what you see will be on the screens. Pack a blanket where allowed.
Arena and ballpark seating
Indoors. Go for the lower bowl, across from the stage, where the sound is cleanest. Floor tickets (reserved chairs on some dates, standing GA on others) get you nearest the band, but the floor has no rake, and one tall person ahead of you can hide the stage.
Stadiums and ballparks. Field seats are closest. For listening, though, a lower-deck seat looking at the stage does better. From the top deck the band is distant, and sound bounces around a big open bowl.
The All-American Road Show, 2017 to now
The tour kicked off in Alpharetta, Georgia, in May 2017 and drew about 822,000 people in its first year, according to figures on Wikipedia. It has continued in legs ever since.
- Amphitheaters carry most legs. His fall 2026 schedule listed a stop at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, and a two-night stand at Kansas City's Morton Amphitheater.
- Arenas cover cities without a major shed; Lincoln, Nebraska's Pinnacle Bank Arena was on the October 2026 schedule.
- Ballparks and stadiums show up now and then, from Chicago's Wrigley Field (2022) to Boston's Fenway Park (2026).
- Festivals slot in between legs.
Past openers and guests include Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Margo Price, Marty Stuart and Brothers Osborne. On the fall 2026 dates, Carter Faith and Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs filled the support slots.
Kentucky songwriter turned headliner
Born in Lexington, Kentucky, on April 15, 1978, and raised in Staffordsville, Stapleton put in over a decade writing songs in Nashville, and co-wrote six chart-topping singles for others, including "Drink a Beer" for Luke Bryan and "Never Wanted Nothing More" for Kenny Chesney. From 2007 to 2010 he sang lead in the bluegrass band The SteelDrivers.
- Traveller (2015) topped the Billboard 200 and earned two Grammys, Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance. Morgane Stapleton, his wife, added harmony vocals and helped select the tracks.
- The 2015 CMA Awards handed him three trophies (Album, Male Vocalist, New Artist), and his "Tennessee Whiskey" duet with Justin Timberlake that night is widely seen as his national breakthrough. Traveller was the best-selling country album of 2016.
- Since then: the two From A Room volumes in 2017, then Starting Over in 2020 and Higher in 2023.
- Super Bowl LVII: the national anthem, February 12, 2023.
His Grammy total stands at 12.
Presales, sellouts and show-day planning
His crowd runs from lifelong country fans to classic-rock listeners, and plenty of shows sell out (his site marks them), and strong markets often get a second night, as Kansas City did in October 2026.
- Fan club presales open before the general sale, through Ticketmaster.
- VIP hospitality packages on certain dates come from 100x Hospitality.
- Hot tickets: weekend dates, stadium nights and pavilion seats. Lawn tickets stay the most available, though the forecast can move them in the final days.
- Rain: amphitheater shows usually play through it, and the lawn gets wet.
- Bags and chairs: many sheds limit bag size and prohibit bringing your own lawn chair, sometimes offering rentals instead. Rules vary and change, so check the venue's current policy.
- Parking: suburban sheds can have long exit lines; arrive early or allow time to leave.
Reserved Seat orders include free shipping. Current dates are on chrisstapleton.com and in this page's event list.
