Best pick: center lower bowl · Cain's farewell tour from Feb 2026

A Journey night is a room full of people singing Don't Stop Believin', and a centered lower-level seat gets you the cleanest sound and the solos.

Upcoming Journey dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Journey seats: sound first, then sightline

For a Journey concert, the best seat is in the lower bowl (the first tier above the floor), facing the stage from the center. The mix is most balanced there, and you can watch Neal Schon's guitar solos and Jonathan Cain at the keyboards without craning. Reserved floor seats are closer and louder. At amphitheaters, the covered center pavilion is the pick and the lawn is the budget option.

Journey, formed in San Francisco in 1973, is a band people buy for the songs. "Don't Stop Believin'" was certified 18 times platinum by 2024 and is the top-selling digital track in US history, and the crowd usually spans three generations who know every chorus.

Arena, shed or stadium: section notes

Recent Journey tours have played big rooms, often on shared bills, so check the venue type and which act closes your date before choosing.

  • Arena lower bowl, center: the all-around winner for a band show.
  • Arena floor: close and loud. Rock tours often sell the floor as reserved chairs, so read the listing to see whether you will sit or stand.
  • Amphitheater pavilion: covered and near the stage; middle sections sound best.
  • Amphitheater lawn: the open general admission grass behind the pavilion. The lowest-cost and most relaxed ticket, but far from the stage and open to the weather.
  • Stadiums: lower-level seats along the side near the stage end beat distant spots on the field for most people.

On a double bill

When Journey shares the stage with another headliner, set order can change by date. Check the listing so you do not arrive for the wrong half of the night.

Arnel Pineda's band in 2026

Arnel Pineda has sung lead since December 5, 2007, after Schon found him singing Journey covers in YouTube videos. As of 2026, the lineup was Schon (guitar), Cain (keyboards, guitar), Pineda (vocals), Deen Castronovo (drums), Jason Derlatka (keyboards) and Todd Jensen (bass). Lineups shift, so watch the band's announcements.

The show plays to the band's strengths: Schon's solos, Cain's piano and keyboard parts, and choruses the whole room sings. The 15th studio album, Freedom, came out July 8, 2022, but new songs usually get a small slice of a hits-first night.

The Final Frontier Tour and recent runs

  • 2023 into early 2024: shows in North America and overseas with Toto.
  • July to September 2024: a North American tour with Def Leppard.
  • 2026, the Final Frontier Tour: the band said on October 10, 2025, that Cain would leave after one last tour, and on November 6, 2025, it announced the North American leg of that run, which began in February 2026.

Big rooms are old territory: on the 1978 Infinity Tour, Journey headlined over a bill that included Van Halen. Check the live listings on this page for current dates.

Escape, Steve Perry and the Hall of Fame

Schon, keyboardist Gregg Rolie and bassist Ross Valory were among the founders. The commercial run took off once Steve Perry joined as singer in October 1977 and Cain took over from Rolie in 1980. Escape (1981) topped the Billboard 200 and Frontiers (1983) reached No. 2. Perry left after the 1987 Raised on Radio tour, came back for Trial by Fire in 1996 and then departed again.

The 1988 Greatest Hits collection logged 750 weeks on the Billboard album charts through 2008. The band entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 7, 2017, in a ceremony at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Farewell framing and when to buy

  • A last lap lifts demand. With the Final Frontier Tour billed as Cain's goodbye, interest can run above a routine tour.
  • Center lower bowl goes first. Lawn and upper-level tickets often stay available into the final weeks.
  • Weekends in big cities lead. Friday and Saturday shows in major markets usually see the strongest resale interest.

The hits sell this show more than any new record, and the audience is broad enough that most markets draw well. Reserved Seat backs every order with a 100% guarantee. Tour news is posted at journeymusic.com.
