Upcoming AC/DC dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
The AC/DC seat to buy, in short
At an AC/DC stadium date, your strongest reserved seat is in the lower level along the sideline, close to the stage. You sit above the floor crowd, near the band, at an angle that follows Angus Young as he runs from one side of the stage to the other. The front of the floor is closer still, but it is flat and usually standing, and the back half of a stadium floor watches the screens. On a budget, take a front-row seat in the upper level near center rather than a high corner.
That advice fits the band's current format. Angus and his brother Malcolm Young started AC/DC in Sydney in 1973, and today the band works at stadium scale; the Power Up Tour, which began in 2024, carried the show across three continents.
Floor, lower bowl and upper deck compared
These notes assume an end stage, meaning the band plays from one end of the stadium and the sections behind the stage are either closed or sold as limited view. That is the normal layout for stadium rock. Check the seating map on each event before you buy.
- Front floor: the most intense spot in the building and the nearest to Angus. Expect to stand all night.
- Rear floor: flat ground and a long distance to the stage. You will watch most of the show on the screens.
- Lower sideline near the stage: the best overall view, raised and close.
- Lower level facing the stage: farther back but square to the whole stage and the screens, and often near the soundboard, where the mix is best.
- Upper level: the value choice. Front rows near center beat seats high in the corners.
Seats to skip
Sections right beside the stage can lose much of the view to speaker stacks and screen structures, so avoid them unless the listing explains the sightline. Likewise, deep rows of the lower bowl that sit beneath the next deck may lose the upper part of the video screens.
What you hear and see on the night
The setlist leans on the 1970s and 1980s, built around the two albums fans know best, Back in Black and Highway to Hell, and a handful from Power Up. Small changes happen city to city; on the Australian Power Up dates, "Jailbreak" was played again after a gap stretching back to 1991.
Angus Young's guitar drives nearly every song. The Power Up touring band: Johnson singing, Angus on lead, nephew Stevie Young (Malcolm's replacement since 2014) on rhythm, plus Matt Laug behind the kit and Chris Chaney playing bass.
Recent tours, with dates and numbers
- Black Ice (2008–2010): from October 2008 through June 2010, the band reached an estimated 4.9 million people in 108 cities across upward of 28 countries. Its Buenos Aires stand at River Plate Stadium in December 2009 was filmed for Live at River Plate.
- Rock or Bust (2015–2016): doctors warned Johnson about his hearing, so he left before the final 2016 shows, and Axl Rose, the Guns N' Roses frontman, sang the remaining dates.
- Power Trip (2023): after years off the road, the band co-headlined this Indio, California, festival on October 7.
- Power Up (2024 onward): the opener was May 17, 2024, in Gelsenkirchen, with The Pretty Reckless as support. Across seven reported European dates that year, ticket sales reached 463,218, near 66,000 per show. North America got 13 dates in spring 2025, Europe a second summer leg, and Australia its own run, where Amyl and the Sniffers opened. The last date on the band's site is a MetLife Stadium show on October 2, 2026, with Foo Fighters on the bill.
Presale-only sales and why floor seats vanish
AC/DC tours infrequently, and its recent sales have been built around registration presales.
- No general on-sale in 2024 Europe: fans signed up and hoped to be drawn for a presale slot. Pollstar reported that about 1.5 million European tickets went in a single day.
- Every tour feels like the last: the long gap between Rock or Bust and Power Up taught fans not to wait, which front-loads demand.
- Floor first: standing areas near the stage usually sell out in presales, so later buyers move to resale.
- Weekends and big cities lead: Friday and Saturday shows in major metro stadiums go fastest.
On resale, prices may sit over or under the printed price and tend to move as the show approaches. Reserved Seat covers each order with a 100% guarantee. Band announcements appear on AC/DC's tour page.
From Bon Scott to Back in Black
The original frontman, Bon Scott, died in 1980, months after Highway to Hell came out the year before. Johnson stepped in that year, and his first record as singer, Back in Black, now holds a 27-times-platinum RIAA certification. Worldwide sales top 200 million records, including 84 million American sales per the RIAA. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted the band in 2003.
Frequently asked questions
Where should I sit for an AC/DC concert?
Choose the lower bowl along the side, near the stage, for height plus proximity while Angus Young roams. For less money, go upper level near the middle.
Is the floor worth it at an AC/DC show?
Only near the front. The floor is level ground and mostly standing room; from the back, you are watching video screens.
Why couldn't I buy AC/DC tickets at a public on-sale?
In 2024 the European shows sold only through a sign-up presale, with no general sale. Its site directs fans to the newsletter for presale news.
How big were AC/DC's Power Up shows?
Very big: the seven 2024 European dates with reported figures averaged roughly 66,000 tickets each, 463,218 in all.
Who plays in AC/DC on tour?
The Power Up lineup paired Johnson and the two Youngs, Angus and Stevie, with drummer Matt Laug and bassist Chris Chaney.
