Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
The Kings of Leon seat that pays off
The strongest reserved ticket for Kings of Leon is a lower-level seat on either side of the stage, a few sections back from the stage line. You sit above the floor crowd, close enough to follow Matthew Followill's guitar parts and Nathan's drumming, without the extreme angle of the sections right beside the stage. The general admission floor is the choice if you want to be in the middle of 18,000 people singing "Use Somebody."
Kings of Leon formed in 1999 in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, near Nashville. The lineup is brothers Caleb (vocals and guitar), Nathan (drums) and Jared Followill (bass) with their cousin Matthew Followill (lead guitar), and the name comes from the brothers' grandfather, Leon. The show is a straight rock concert: songs, lights and a band, not a choreographed production.
Floor, lower level, upper level and lawn compared
Most arena and amphitheater dates use an end stage, with the seats behind it closed or sold as limited view. Check the map on your listing for the layout at that venue.
- General admission floor: standing room with no assigned spot. It is the closest you can get and the loudest singing in the building, but it is flat, so shorter fans toward the back watch the screens.
- Lower-level sides: the best balance of distance, height and comfort, as described above.
- Lower-level end facing the stage: farther back but square to the band and lighting, and typically near the soundboard (the mixing desk, where the house mix is set). Choose this for sound over proximity.
- Upper level: the value tier. Front rows near center keep the stage readable; high corner seats feel distant.
- Amphitheater lawn: a relaxed general admission hill behind the reserved seats. The stage looks small from the back, and whether you can bring a blanket or chair depends on the venue's current rules.
Seats to skip
Sections at a sharp angle right next to the stage can lose part of the view to speaker stacks and lighting trusses. Buy them only if the listing describes what you will see.
Four Followills and the albums fans come for
The early sound mixed Southern rock and garage rock with blues; later records leaned toward broader alternative rock (guitar rock outside the pop mainstream, built on big dynamics). The set draws from every phase.
- The garage start (2003): the Holy Roller Novocaine EP and Youth & Young Manhood. The debut sold about 100,000 copies in the US and roughly 750,000 abroad, which is why the band's first loyal audience was overseas.
- Learning big rooms (2004 to 2006): after Aha Shake Heartbreak, the band opened for U2, Bob Dylan and Pearl Jam.
- The UK breakthrough (2007): Because of the Times debuted at No. 1 in the UK and Ireland.
- The US breakthrough (2008): Only by the Night sent "Sex on Fire," "Use Somebody" and "Notion" to No. 1 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart and became the band's first US platinum album.
- Awards and later records: "Use Somebody" won Record of the Year, Best Rock Song and a rock performance Grammy in 2010. Walls (2016) became the band's first Billboard 200 No. 1, and Can We Please Have Fun (May 2024), its ninth album, was its first on LoveTap and Capitol.
The band's site has since promoted a new album, O My Beloved, with the singles "Cold Blue Dawn" and "My Whole World."
From Glastonbury to MetLife: the live record
- 2008 and 2009: headliner at Glastonbury in 2008, then at Reading and Leeds, Rock Werchter and T in the Park in 2009, plus Sasquatch, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits in the US.
- June 30, 2009: a 22-song set for more than 18,000 at a sold-out O2 in London, filmed for Live at the O2.
- 2010 to 2011: the Come Around Sundown World Tour, whose summer 2010 run covered more than 50 cities in North America and Europe. A July 29, 2011, show in Dallas ended early, and the rest of that year's US dates were canceled.
- 2014 to 2024: album-cycle headline tours: Mechanical Bull (2014 to 2015), WALLS (2017), When You See Yourself (2021) and Can We Please Have Fun (2024).
- 2025: UK and European shows were canceled in May after Caleb Followill broke his foot. The band came back on July 18, 2025, for three nights opening for Zach Bryan at MetLife Stadium.

Timing your purchase around an album cycle
Kings of Leon tours behind records, and the gaps between some cycles are long, so demand bunches up when dates are announced.
- Watch for album news. A new record has reliably been followed by a headline tour, so the O My Beloved rollout is the signal to watch.
- Presales open the market. Newsletter, venue and card-holder presales usually come before the public on-sale; the band's site offers a news signup.
- Floor and front sides sell through first. After those go, demand shifts to resale, where prices can sit above or below face value and tend to move as the date nears.
- Weekends and Nashville-area dates run hottest. Friday and Saturday shows and hometown dates draw the heaviest competition.
- Festivals and support slots are a different purchase. At a festival or a date like the 2025 MetLife run, the ticket is priced around the whole bill, not the band's set.
