Upcoming Nickelback dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
The Nickelback seat call
For most buyers, the right Nickelback seat is in the lower bowl along the side, a few sections off the stage. Those seats are raised above the floor crowd, close enough to see faces, and already angled toward the band. At an amphitheater, the covered pavilion (the reserved seating under the roof) is the equivalent pick, with the lawn behind it as the budget option.
The show is a loud, polished rock production built on radio hits the audience knows by heart, starting with "How You Remind Me." That means two things matter: a clear look at the stage and screens, and a spot where a sing-along feels like part of the night rather than something blocking your view.
Arena layout, section by section
- Floor: nearest the band. If it is general admission (GA, meaning first come, first served standing), arrive early to get near the stage. If it is set with reserved chairs, remember it is flat; past the middle rows, the people in front of you become the view.
- Lower sideline near the stage: the best balance of distance and height for most fans.
- Lower bowl straight across from the stage: farther back, but you face the whole production head-on and sit near the soundboard (the mixing desk), where the mix is balanced.
- Upper level: the value tier. Front rows in the center beat the top rows in a corner.
- Right beside the stage: skip unless the listing describes the view, since speaker stacks and lighting trusses can block part of it.
Pavilion or lawn at an outdoor show
Many summer dates land at amphitheaters, open-air venues with a roofed pavilion of reserved seats in front and a sloped general-admission lawn behind it.
Pavilion
The strongest outdoor choice. You get a real view of the stage, the roof keeps you dry if weather turns, and the sound is fuller under cover.
Lawn
The cheapest way in and a relaxed setting for a band whose crowd sings along. The stage is distant, so plan to watch the screens and bring patience for the exit. Lawn inventory is large and often stays available until close to show day.
Nickelback usually tours with two or three support acts, so getting in early adds real music to the ticket, not just waiting time.
Hanna, Alberta, and two decades of radio hits
Nickelback formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, out of a cover band called Village Idiot. Chad Kroeger sings and plays guitar, Ryan Peake plays guitar and keyboards and sings backup, Mike Kroeger plays bass, and Daniel Adair has been on drums since 2005.
The commercial record is enormous. "How You Remind Me," from Silver Side Up (2001), finished 2002 as the Billboard Hot 100's top single of the year. All the Right Reasons (2005) passed 7 million US copies by mid-2010, Billboard named the band the decade's most successful rock group, and worldwide album sales top 50 million. The band entered the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2023.
Setlists lean on the stretch from Silver Side Up to Dark Horse (2008), with newer songs from Feed the Machine (2017) and Get Rollin' (2022), which went to No. 1 in Switzerland and No. 4 in Canada. The band's critics are part of the story too: Rolling Stone called it the second-worst band of the 1990s in 2013, and the 2023 documentary Hate to Love: Nickelback explored the backlash. The crowds have kept coming anyway.
Headline runs from Dark Horse to Get Rollin'
- Get Rollin' Tour, June to August 2023: 38 dates in Canada and the US, with Brantley Gilbert and Josh Ross opening.
- Feed the Machine Tour, starting June 23, 2017: 44 North American cities, with Daughtry, Shaman's Harvest and Cheap Trick on the bill.
- No Fixed Address Tour, 2015 to 2016: the fifth headlining tour, behind the 2014 album of that name.
- Here and Now Tour, 2012: announced January 11, 2012, with Seether, Bush and My Darkest Days.
- Dark Horse Tour, 2008 to 2010: 146 shows and more than 1.6 million tickets, the high-water mark.

Timing a Nickelback purchase
The band tours on a regular cycle and covers many cities per run, so demand is usually steady rather than frantic.
- The best seats go in presales: fan-club, venue and card-issuer windows open before the general on-sale and take much of the floor and pavilion stock.
- Canada sells harder: with three Juno Awards in 2009 alone and a long home-chart history, Canadian dates can move faster than similar US stops.
- Weekends first: Friday and Saturday shows sell ahead of weeknights in the same region.
- Lawns last: big lawn capacity keeps those tickets on the market longest.
On resale, prices can run above or below face value and shift as the date gets closer. Reserved Seat backs every order with a 100% guarantee. Band news is posted at Nickelback's official site.
Frequently asked questions
Is the floor worth it at a Nickelback concert?
If it is general admission and you arrive early, yes for energy. If it is reserved chairs, the flat floor means rows past the middle see less than a raised lower-bowl seat.
Should I buy pavilion or lawn at an amphitheater?
Pavilion seats give a real view of the stage and a roof overhead. The lawn is the budget option, with a distant view and a reliance on the screens.
Who plays in Nickelback?
Chad Kroeger on vocals and guitar, Ryan Peake on guitar and keys, Mike Kroeger on bass and Daniel Adair on drums. Adair joined in 2005; the others are founders.
Does Nickelback tour with opening acts?
Usually two or three. The 2023 Get Rollin' Tour had Brantley Gilbert and Josh Ross, and the 2017 Feed the Machine Tour had Daughtry, Shaman's Harvest and Cheap Trick.
Which Nickelback tour sold the most tickets?
The Dark Horse Tour from 2008 to 2010, with 146 shows and more than 1.6 million tickets sold.
