Zac Brown Band seats: the quick answer

At an amphitheater, which is where Zac Brown Band plays most often, reserve a center seat under the pavilion roof. That zone gets the sound the engineers mix for, a straight view of a large band, and cover if it rains. Move closer to the front only if watching the solos up close matters more to you than balance.

Zac Brown started the group in Atlanta in 2002, and the touring lineup now numbers nine. Songs often run long, with fiddle, guitar and percussion breaks, so you want a seat where you can follow who is playing.

  • Closest: the pit or the front reserved rows.
  • Best balance: center pavilion, near the soundboard.
  • Best for a group on a budget: the front of the lawn.
  • At a ballpark: lower-level infield seats facing the stage.

Amphitheater, arena and ballpark layouts

Amphitheaters

Some sheds sell the front section as a standing pit; others seat it. Behind the pavilion sits the lawn, general-admission grass with no assigned spots. The lawn fits this band's easygoing, sing-along crowd, but the stage shrinks with distance; come early to claim the top of the slope nearest the pavilion, and expect to rely on the video screens.

Arenas

Lower-level sideline sections near the stage beat the back half of the floor, where flat rows look past a standing crowd.

Ballparks

At a baseball park, the usual setup puts the stage out past the infield with its back to the outfield wall, pointed toward home plate. That creates three distinct choices:

  • Field seats: nearest to the stage, but flat, so the view depends on the people in front of you.
  • Lower level behind home plate: straight on and raised, at a real distance.
  • Seats down the foul lines near the outfield: closer, but you look at the stage from the side.

A players' band with a fiddle up front

Jimmy De Martini's fiddle often carries the melody, Daniel de los Reyes adds hand percussion, and the arrangements leave space for long instrumental breaks, so a radio single can stretch into a long jam. Most nights also include a cover or two from rock or soul. The mood moves from beach songs such as "Toes" and "Knee Deep" to Southern rock to quiet ballads.

Alongside Brown, De Martini and de los Reyes, the nine-piece lineup includes John Driskell Hopkins, Coy Bowles, drummer Chris Fryar, Clay Cook, bassist Matt Mangano and the newest member, Caroline Jones, added in November 2022.

The 2008 album The Foundation produced "Chicken Fried," the song that broke the band nationally. The country No. 1 count now stands at 13, with "Sweet Annie," "Free" and "Highway 20 Ride" among them. Grammy voters named the group Best New Artist in 2010, honored a country vocal collaboration in 2011 and gave Uncaged Best Country Album in 2013. Brown also runs a label and studio under the Southern Ground name.

Eat & Greet packages and summer demand

Since fall 2009 the band has offered the Eat & Greet, a VIP package that includes a pre-show meal with band members. Quantities are small, and the band handles these packages itself, apart from regular seating.

  • Summer weekend nights sell first. Friday and Saturday amphitheater shows draw the most buyers, and lawn tickets for those dates can disappear quickly.
  • Stadium shows pull from a wide region. A ballpark date is treated as an event, so demand builds well ahead.
  • Presales take the front. Fan-club members and venue mailing lists usually get access ahead of the public, and resale is how most fans reach the front sections after that.

Reserved Seat orders carry no digital transfer fees.

Rain, lawn chairs and show-day planning

Amphitheater rules on bags, lawn chairs and blankets vary, and many venues have changed them in recent seasons, so check the venue's current policy before you go. Outdoor shows usually go on in the rain; lawn ticket holders should pack a poncho. VIP and tour news is posted at zacbrownband.com.

Frequently asked questions

Is the lawn a good choice for Zac Brown Band?

It fits the band's laid-back crowd and costs less, though the stage is distant from the back. Arrive early to sit near the front of the slope, or reserve a covered seat if sound matters most.

Where should I sit for a Zac Brown Band ballpark show?

Lower-level infield seats behind home plate face the outfield stage directly. Field seats are closer but flat, and seats down the foul lines see the stage from an angle.

Does Zac Brown Band offer a VIP experience?

Yes. Since 2009 the band has sold a limited Eat & Greet package, which pairs a meal before the show with time alongside band members.

How many members are in Zac Brown Band?

Nine in the current lineup listed on Wikipedia, led by Zac Brown, with Caroline Jones the most recent addition in November 2022.

What Grammys has Zac Brown Band won?

Three: Best New Artist in 2010, a country vocal collaboration award in 2011, and Best Country Album in 2013 for Uncaged.
