Upcoming BottleRock Napa Valley dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
BottleRock Tier Choice at a Glance
For most people, three-day general admission (GA) is enough at BottleRock Napa Valley. The Napa Valley Expo is a compact fairground, the walks between stages are short, and three-day GA lets you leave and come back. Step up to VIP if you want shade and shorter restroom lines on warm afternoons. Choose Skydeck if a raised, shaded view of the Main Stage is the point of your weekend.
The festival runs Friday to Sunday over Memorial Day weekend; the next edition is listed for May 28 to 30, 2027. It is a day festival with no on-site camping, so you sleep in Napa or nearby and come in each day. More than 75 acts play across five music stages, and a Culinary Stage and Napa Valley wine program give the weekend its character.
Every Pass Level, From the Lawn to the Stage
The festival's 2027 ticket page lists these options:
- GA (three-day or one-day): all five music stages, the Culinary Stage and the food and wine vendors. Three-day holders get in-and-out privileges and access to the renewal presale for the following year.
- VIP (three-day or one-day): fast-lane entry, raised and shaded viewing lounges, the VIP Village, premium bars and better restrooms.
- Skydeck (three-day only): raised, shaded lounges facing the Main Stage, the Culinary Stage and the second stage, with drinks included.
- American Express VIP Viewing Suite: for eligible cardholders.
- Private suites: sold to groups of 40 to 60.
- Platinum (three-day only, very limited): on-stage viewing, backstage parking and concierge service.
The view question breaks down simply. GA sightlines depend on how early you claim a spot. VIP's lounges add height and shade at several stages. Skydeck is the most reliable Main Stage view short of Platinum, which puts you on the stage itself.
Single Days vs. the Full Weekend
Each day's headliner drives demand. Single-day GA for the day with the biggest name tends to sell first. Three-day passes keep their value partly because buyers get first crack at the next year's renewal presale.
BottleRock usually announces its full lineup in one drop early in the year, and single-day passes follow once the day-by-day schedule is set. If one act is your reason to go, wait for that schedule before buying a single day. Reserved Seat orders carry a 100% guarantee.
Who Has Topped the BottleRock Bill
BottleRock books large mainstream names and deliberately mixes generations. A selection, per Wikipedia:
- 2026 (May 22–24): Lorde, Foo Fighters, LCD Soundsystem, Backstreet Boys, Lil Wayne, Teddy Swims and Zedd.
- 2025: Justin Timberlake, Green Day and Noah Kahan.
- 2024: Ed Sheeran, Pearl Jam, Megan Thee Stallion and Stevie Nicks.
- 2023: Lizzo, Post Malone, Duran Duran and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
- 2022: Luke Combs, Pink, Twenty One Pilots and Metallica.
- 2019: Mumford and Sons, Neil Young and Imagine Dragons.
- 2018: Muse, The Killers and Bruno Mars.
- 2017: Foo Fighters, Maroon 5 and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
- 2016: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Florence + The Machine and Stevie Wonder.
- 2014: Weezer, OutKast and The Cure.
As of October 2026, no 2027 lineup had been announced. The crowd runs a little older than at an EDM or hip-hop festival, which is why legacy rock acts share the bill with current pop and hip-hop stars.
Reaching the Expo on a Holiday Weekend
The Napa Valley Expo is at 575 Third Street, a short walk east of downtown Napa. Most fans drive in from the Bay Area or Sacramento, and holiday traffic into the valley is heavy, so build in extra time.
- On foot or by bike: downtown hotels and rentals are within walking distance. A free bike valet has operated near the grounds in past years.
- Shuttles and charter buses: the festival has run service from Bay Area cities before; check its transportation page for current routes.
- Driving: parking is limited to designated lots, and a half-mile walk or more is typical.
- Rideshare: designated zones only, with long waits and surge pricing at closing.
Napa rooms for Memorial Day weekend go early. A nearby town gives you more choice but adds a daily commute, and the three-day in-and-out privilege loses value if your bed is far away.
Bags, Kids and Allowed Items at BottleRock
These rules are drawn from BottleRock's festival information and a 2025 NBC Bay Area guide. Check the current BottleRock FAQ before you go, as policies change.
- Bags: clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches; a one-pocket clutch or fanny pack around 6 by 9 inches; empty, clear hydration packs. No non-clear backpacks. Bags are searched every time you enter.
- Children: each ticketed adult may bring one child aged 5 or younger free with proof of age. Kids 6 and up need their own wristband.
- Permitted: small blankets, empty reusable water bottles, non-aerosol sunscreen up to 3.4 ounces and non-professional cameras.
- Banned: outside food and drink, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, drones, professional recording equipment, and smoking or vaping.
Late May afternoons in Napa are typically warm and sunny, and evenings cool off. In 2025, doors opened at 11:30 a.m. and the final act ended at 10 p.m., so pack sunscreen, an evening layer and comfortable shoes.
A Rocky 2013 Debut and a Memorial Day Fixture
The first BottleRock ran five days, May 8 to 12, 2013, with 60 bands on three stages, including Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, Zac Brown Band, Jackson Browne and The Flaming Lips. It was the valley's first large-scale music festival, poured from 40 local wineries and drew more than 120,000 people across its run. It also left behind millions of dollars in claims from creditors, among them the City of Napa and the Napa Valley Expo.
New owners took over in 2014 and adopted the three-day Memorial Day format still in use; Latitude 38 Entertainment organizes the festival. The 2020 edition was first pushed to October and then canceled in July 2020 because of the pandemic. The festival came back in September 2021, a one-off departure from its usual slot, and returned to Memorial Day weekend in 2022 with 70 to 80 performances a year.
