Upcoming ODESZA dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
First choice: the full production or a DJ set
Before picking a spot, confirm which ODESZA you are buying. The live show is the duo's big production, played in arenas, other large venues and festival headline slots, with the albums performed against a wall of lighting and video. A DJ set is a shorter club night in a smaller room. Both use the ODESZA name, so read the listing title.
For the live show, the seat rule is simple: face the visuals head-on. The production leans on screens and light as much as on the two people on stage, so a centered angle matters more than raw closeness. On the standing floor, the sweet spot is near center and a little behind the front third, where the whole visual wall fits in your eyeline.
Arena options for the live show
- Standing floor, center: where the dancing happens. Too close to the front and you look up at the screens; a few yards back you see the full design.
- Lower bowl straight on: the top reserved pick, square to the visuals and usually near the soundboard (the mixing desk out in the crowd).
- Lower bowl beside the stage: closer to Mills and Knight, but the side angle flattens the visual design into a sliver.
- Upper level straight on: better value here than at most concerts, because lighting effects read well from height.
Plan to stand for most of the night even with a reserved seat; the set flows like one long album, with songs blended together and guest vocals in the mix.
Amphitheaters and festival fields
Amphitheater pit or floor
The listing will say whether the area in front of the stage is standing room. It is where most fans dance.
Amphitheater lawn
A smart buy for this act. A show built on sound and visuals carries well up a slope; arrive early to claim a central patch.
Festivals
A festival pass covers the whole lineup, and where you stand at the main stage comes down to when you arrive. Upgraded GA+ or VIP tiers generally add separate entrances and viewing areas, not a guaranteed spot.
Bag, hydration-pack and re-entry rules differ by venue and festival and change from year to year; check the current policy before you go. Earplugs are worth packing for the floor.
Two Bellingham students and a sunken boat
Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight formed ODESZA in 2012 at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. Mills studied graphic design; Knight studied physics and mathematics and trained classically on piano. They also record as Catacombkid and BeachesBeaches. The name comes from a sunken boat owned by Mills' uncle, named for the Ukrainian city of Odesa and spelled in a Hungarian style. In March 2015 they launched Foreign Family Collective, a label and platform for musicians and visual artists.
The music is melodic and emotional, built on vocal samples, guest singers and long crescendos. Key releases:
- A Moment Apart (2017): No. 3 on the Billboard 200, nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album, with "Line of Sight" up for Best Dance Recording; "Corners of the Earth" became an anthem for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
- The Last Goodbye (2022): No. 11, another Best Dance/Electronic Album nominee, with a Bettye LaVette sample on the title track.
- In Return (2014): released on Ninja Tune's Counter Records, it topped the US dance chart, and the RAC mix of "Say My Name" brought the first Grammy nod.
- Other work: the self-released debut Summer's Gone (2012), Bronson (2020) with Golden Features, and Music To Refine To (2025), a remix companion to the Severance score.
Headline tours and big festival slots
The dated runs below come from this page's sources; current shows appear in the event list here.
- The Last Goodbye Tour (June 2022 to summer 2024): more than 40 North American shows plus Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Lollapalooza and Life Is Beautiful. A 2024 "Finale" series played California, New York, Colorado and Washington, and a 27-track live album released May 31, 2024, collected mash-ups and remixes previously heard only at the shows.
- A Moment Apart Tour (2017 to 2018): sold out major arenas including Staples Center and Barclays Center, and in 2018 took a Sunday-night Coachella slot just before Eminem.
- In Return Tour (from March 12, 2014): the first headline run, with 28 North American shows sold out by October 2014.
The festival résumé started at Sasquatch in George, Washington, and has grown past 20 appearances, including Governors Ball and Firefly. The official site has also listed club DJ nights, such as Echostage in Washington, DC, a separate format from the full production. Tour news is posted at odesza.com.
What drives ODESZA demand
- Tours follow albums: the big runs came after A Moment Apart and The Last Goodbye, with gaps of years between them, so announcements trigger an early rush.
- The floor goes first: standing room near the stage is the most wanted ticket at an electronic show.
- Billed events travel: specials like the 2024 Finale shows draw fans from other regions and push resale demand up in those cities.
- Club nights are small: DJ sets sell out quickly because rooms are small, but they are not the full production.

Frequently asked questions
Where should I stand on the floor at ODESZA?
Near center and a little behind the front third. That keeps the whole visual wall in view instead of looking straight up at it.
Is an ODESZA DJ set the same as the live show?
No. The live show is the full production in arenas, large venues and festival headline slots. A DJ set is a shorter club-style night in a smaller room.
Is the upper level a bad seat for ODESZA?
Not if it faces the stage. The lighting and screens read well from height, which makes centered upper seats good value for this kind of show.
Where did ODESZA start?
At Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, where Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight formed the duo in 2012.
Has ODESZA headlined Coachella?
The duo played a Sunday-night Coachella slot in 2018, right before Eminem, during the A Moment Apart Tour.
