Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
Which Beyond Wonderland Fits You
Beyond Wonderland is an electronic dance music festival from Insomniac Events, the company Pasquale Rotella founded, dressed in an Alice in Wonderland theme of costumed characters, art pieces and themed stages. As of October 2026 there are three U.S. editions, sold separately, and they suit different trips:
- Pick SoCal if you want a big two-day lineup with no camping and easy access from Los Angeles-area freeways. It runs in late March at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California. The 2026 dates were March 27–28; the festival lists March 26–27, 2027.
- Pick The Gorge if you want a destination camping weekend. It runs in late June at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, in rural central Washington. The 2026 edition was June 27–28; 2027 is June 25–27, with day one open to campers only.
- Pick Midwest if you are near Chicago and want camping without flying west. After running as Beyond Wonderland Chicago at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island on June 6–7, 2026, it moves in 2027 to Chicagoland Speedway in the Joliet area, grows to three days (June 11–13) and adds camping.
GA, GA+ or VIP: What the Upgrade Buys
Each edition sells the same three tiers through Front Gate Tickets, mostly as two-day passes; the 2027 Midwest edition sells three days.
- GA: entry, free water refills and access to food, drink and bars.
- GA+: faster entry and premium restrooms with air conditioning. At a packed single-site event, the shorter entry line is the real reason to buy it.
- VIP: faster entry, reserved viewing areas, food and drink not available to GA, and lounge access. At SoCal, VIP adds Wi-Fi and is limited to guests 21 and over.
The decision usually comes down to the main stage. GA fans who want a close view of a headliner need to arrive early and stay put; VIP's viewing areas let you step in later with a clear sightline. If your group mixes ages at SoCal, remember that anyone under 21 cannot use VIP.
Camping Levels at The Gorge and the Midwest
Sleeping arrangements are where the editions split:
- SoCal: no camping at all, and you may not sleep in your car in the festival lot.
- The Gorge: three nights of camping around two days of music. Tiers run from standard sites (Fox Den) and premier sites (Cheshire Cove) up through terrace and front-yard sites to glamping, including Vineyard Glamping and Royal Shipyard.
- Midwest, 2027: the first on-site car and RV camping for the edition, with four nights included.
At The Gorge, the camping pass is effectively the ticket decision. The amphitheater is far from any large city, so nearly everyone camps, and the better camping tiers tend to sell out before GA admission does.
When Passes Sell Fastest
SoCal is the original edition and the most concentrated demand. The first day of the 2019 event sold out in less than 24 hours, and the 2024 festival sold out in about two weeks. Insomniac usually posts each lineup a few months ahead, and resale demand jumps on announcement day.
Crowding is real at the SoCal site. Reports on the 2024 edition described overcrowding, including about 1,500 people climbing the fence. Get there early and agree on a meeting spot before you go in.
Headliners Across the Editions
Bookings cover house, trance, dubstep, drum and bass and bass music. A sampling, newest first:
- The Gorge, 2026: Kaskade, Seven Lions, FISHER, REZZ, Sub Focus, Wilkinson and Green Velvet.
- Chicago, 2026: Excision, DJ Snake, Zeds Dead, Zedd and Tiësto.
- SoCal, 2026: GRiZ, Steve Angello, SLANDER, Alok, Alison Wonderland, Zedd and Tiësto.
- SoCal, 2019: unannounced sets by ZHU, REZZ and Deadmau5.
- Bay Area, 2013: Zeds Dead, Hardwell, Calvin Harris, Tiësto, Avicii and David Guetta.
- SoCal, 2010: Pendulum, Groove Armada, Sander van Doorn and Paul van Dyk.
Age Limits, Re-Entry and Safety Notes
Insomniac sets rules edition by edition and revises them yearly. Per the 2027 SoCal FAQ:
- Nobody under 18 gets in, even with a parent or guardian; VIP is 21 and older.
- No ins and outs. Once inside, you stay inside.
- Cars left in the lot outside festival hours are towed, and sleeping in vehicles is banned.
- Allowed and banned items are listed on each edition's info pages.
The Gorge and Midwest editions publish their own age and camping rules, so read the FAQ for your edition, starting from the SoCal FAQ or its counterpart, before you buy. One safety note: the second day of the 2023 Gorge edition was canceled after a shooting outside the amphitheater. At any large camping event, follow the posted safety guidance and keep your group together. If you buy through Reserved Seat, your order carries a 100% guarantee.
From a San Bernardino Sellout to Three Sites
The first Beyond Wonderland took place March 20, 2010, at the NOS Events Center, a spring companion to Insomniac's Nocturnal Wonderland, and it sold out. The SoCal edition later shifted to the venue now known as Glen Helen Amphitheater, added camping there in 2015, then went back to the NOS Events Center in 2018 without camping.
A Northern California edition ran from 2012 to 2015, first in an Oakland parking lot and then at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, before Insomniac ended it in 2016. The Gorge edition began in October 2021 and has run in June since 2022. Outside the U.S., the brand has appeared in Mexico since 2017 and in Colombia since 2019.
Frequently asked questions
Which Beyond Wonderland edition is best for first-timers?
SoCal is the simplest: two days at an events center with no camping. The Gorge and the 2027 Midwest edition are camping weekends that take more planning.
Where is Beyond Wonderland Midwest held in 2027?
At Chicagoland Speedway in the Joliet area, June 11–13, 2027. It is the edition's first three-day run and the first with on-site car and RV camping.
Can 18-year-olds buy VIP at Beyond Wonderland SoCal?
No. Per the 2027 SoCal FAQ, general entry is 18 and over, but VIP requires attendees to be 21 or older.
Do you need to camp at Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge?
It is not required, but the amphitheater is remote and most attendees camp. Passes cover three nights of camping around two days of music, from standard sites to glamping.
Is there re-entry at Beyond Wonderland SoCal?
No. The SoCal FAQ does not allow ins and outs, so once you enter you stay inside for the day.
