Ryder Cup Tickets

Adare Manor, Sept. 17–19, 2027 · no resale allowed · then Hazeltine

Four matches on the course per session and a crowd that sings between shots: at a Ryder Cup, where you stand matters more than which ticket you hold.

Upcoming Ryder Cup dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

How to spend a Ryder Cup day on the course

A Ryder Cup ticket is a daily grounds pass with shared grandstands, not a numbered seat, so your real decisions are the day and the plan. On Friday and Saturday, follow one match from the tee rather than camping on one hole: with only four matches out per session, a single group shows you every shot that counts. On Sunday, every one of the 12 singles matches is on the course together, so work from a big scoreboard near the closing holes and move toward whichever match tightens.

Edition 46 goes to Ireland: Adare Manor, County Limerick, where play runs September 17 to 19, 2027. Before you look at any 2027 ticket, read the resale rules below: the European organizer bars resale for this edition.

Tee, green or scoreboard: viewing tactics

  • The first tee: nothing all week is louder than a session's first drives, and the stands that ring the tee are the first to fill. Be at the gate when it opens if this is your priority.
  • One match, start to finish: the best way to watch Friday and Saturday. Parking at the 18th green is a poor plan, because a match ends early as soon as one player or pair is up by more holes than are left to play.
  • The closing stretch late in a session: close matches bunch up on holes 15 to 18, so standing by one of those greens can mean several decisive putts back to back.
  • Sunday's scoreboard: with play scattered across the property, the team total outweighs any single pairing. Stay near a leaderboard and move with the momentum.

Expect miles on foot, packed rope lines and not much shade. Good shoes and some grandstand time in each session make the day easier.

Practice days vs. match days

Every edition sells days separately, and the gap between them is large. Practice days sell for a fraction of match-day rates, and the weekend draws the heaviest demand because the cup is decided then.

For 2027 the week breaks down as:

  • September 14 and 15 (Tuesday, Wednesday): practice days, with discounted tickets for under-16s.
  • Thursday, September 16: opening-ceremony day, also with under-16 discounts.
  • Friday to Sunday, September 17–19: the three match days.

Practice days are the value choice. You see both teams, the course and, on Thursday, the ceremony, with lighter crowds and no match-day premium, though no points are at stake.

Ballots, draws and packages

Forget a first-come, first-served on-sale. Each organizer uses registration followed by a random draw, and packages (travel or hospitality) are the second way in.

Bethpage Black, 2025

The PGA of America collected registrations on RyderCup.com through October 22, 2024, then held a randomized drawing because demand far exceeded supply. Entrants had to be 18 or older, with one registration each. Winners could buy up to four daily "Ryder Cup+" tickets, which bundled grounds entry, public grandstand seating and unlimited food and non-alcoholic drinks at market concessions. Kids 15 and under got in free with a ticketed adult on the Tuesday-to-Thursday practice days and needed paid tickets for competition days.

Adare Manor, 2027

People living anywhere on the island of Ireland got first access starting April 24, 2026; the worldwide ballot followed on June 3. That ballot is now closed, and as of fall 2026 the organizer points buyers to two remaining options: travel packages that include tickets, and premium hospitality.

The resale fine print, edition by edition

  • 2027, Europe: Ryder Cup Europe's ticket terms forbid offering tickets for resale and let the organizer void any ticket it finds listed on, or purchased from, a secondary platform. Weigh that seriously before buying any 2027 ticket outside the ballot, travel-package or hospitality channels.
  • 2025, United States: approved resale ran through SeatGeek, with travel through On Location, both partners of the PGA of America, which cautioned that it would refuse duplicate or fraudulent tickets at entry.
  • 2029, United States: rules for Hazeltine had not been published as of October 2026.

Read the current terms on rydercup.com for whichever edition you plan to attend. Where an edition's rules allow resale, any Reserved Seat order is backed by a 100% guarantee.

Scoring, captains' picks and the half-point rule

Each team has 12 players, who qualify on a points table or are added as captain's picks (the captain's own choices). Nobody is paid prize money. Scoring is match play, so holes won count, not the total number of strokes.

  • Both Friday and Saturday: a session of four foursomes (two partners sharing one ball, taking turns) and a session of four fourballs (each partner plays his own ball, better score counts), split across morning and afternoon.
  • Sunday: 12 singles matches.

A win is one point and a halved match is half a point each, for 28 in total. A challenger needs 14½; the holder keeps the cup with 14. On Sunday, that is why the crowd counts toward a number rather than waiting on a final putt.

On the American side, the PGA of America lists three future hosts: Hazeltine in Chaska, Minnesota, for 2029, then San Francisco's Olympic Club in 2033 and Congressional in Bethesda, Maryland, in 2037. The PGA of America stages the U.S. editions. Ryder Cup Europe, owned by the European Tour together with the British and Irish PGA and the continental PGAs, stages the rest.

Partisan galleries and how to behave in them

No golf event is louder. Fans wear team colors, sing between shots and back the home side openly. That energy also lies behind the two editions most often criticized: Brookline in 1999, when the Americans erased a 10–6 deficit on the final day at The Country Club to win 14½–13½ while European players were heckled, and Bethpage in 2025, when the treatment of Europe's players, especially Rory McIlroy, drew heavy press criticism; fans were ejected, according to organizers, but nobody was arrested.

The rules for a first-timer are simple: cheer between shots, say nothing while a player swings, and assume marshals will insist on it. Bag, phone and prohibited-item policies are set per edition and differ between the American and European events, so check the current spectator guide.

From Worcester in 1927 to Bethpage in 2025

The first official Ryder Cup came in 1927 in Worcester, Massachusetts, a contest of Americans against British players, after unofficial meetings in 1921 and 1926. The trophy carries the name of Samuel Ryder, the English businessman who donated it. Postwar American dominance led the visitors to become Great Britain and Ireland and then, from 1979, all of Europe. Since then Europe has 13 wins to nine for the United States, plus a tie. The 9/11 attacks pushed the 2001 matches into 2002, putting the event in even years, and COVID-19 moved the 2020 edition to 2021, restoring odd years.

In 2025, on September 26–28, the event went to Bethpage Black on Long Island in Farmingdale, New York, a public A. W. Tillinghast layout first opened in 1936. Luke Donald's European side went into Sunday up 11½–4½, the widest margin by either team since 1979. Keegan Bradley's Americans took the singles, yet Shane Lowry halved his match with a birdie on the last hole, which secured the cup; the final score was 15–13 to Europe, the first away win since Medinah in 2012. Donald returns as captain at Adare Manor, opposite Jim Furyk, who also led the United States in 2018.
