Buffalo Sabres Tickets

19,070 for hockey · best view: middle rows, 100-level sideline

KeyBank Center holds more than 19,000 for hockey, so the upper deck is big; buy low in any level near center ice and save the glass for a special night.

Upcoming Buffalo Sabres dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Sabres seats: the quick answer

The seat to buy for a Buffalo Sabres game is a 100-level sideline seat in the middle rows. KeyBank Center, on Buffalo's downtown waterfront beside Canalside, holds 19,070 for hockey, one of the bigger counts in the league. Mid-height rows in the lower bowl see over the glass and stay close enough to feel the speed of the game.

  • Comfort pick: the 200 Level Club.
  • Budget pick: low rows of the 300 level near center ice.
  • Splurge: Rinkside seats or a Harbor Club box.
  • Pass: the top rows of the 300 level behind the nets.

Expect home games from October into April, and playoff hockey from April into June in a good year.

100 level, 200 Level Club and the 300s compared

The arena opened on September 21, 1996, with three reserved tiers.

100 level

The lower bowl and the best place to watch hockey. Sideline seats near center ice carry the most demand; end seats in the same level usually cost less and still feel close. The Labatt Blue Zone, a full-service bar on this level, opens two hours before Sabres games and works as a meeting spot.

200 Level Club

A premium middle ring with private lounges and better food. The height is a real advantage: you read the whole rink, and lines are shorter.

300 level

The upper bowl. Because the building is large, the top of this level is a long way up. Buy the first several rows near center ice and you get the full sheet at a fair price; climb to the back corners and the players get small.

Rinkside and Harbor Club

The top of the price range, for buyers who want premium access above everything else.

Individual section numbers were not verified in this page's sources, so judge each listing by its spot on the seating map.

Glass, ends and the high seats behind the nets

  • Front row on the glass: loud, close and a little chaotic. You feel every hit, but the far end of the rink looks flat from ice level. Choose it for the thrill, not the view.
  • End seats in the 100 level: a smart way to save. In the first and third periods the Sabres attack the same end, so sitting there puts most home goals in front of you. That end was not confirmed in the sources for this page; watch which net the Sabres warm up at to work it out.
  • Top rows behind the nets: the weakest view in the building. Step down a few rows or move toward center ice if the budget allows.

Toronto nights and the rest of the Sabres calendar

NHL preseason games are in September, the 82-game schedule runs from early October to mid-April, and the playoffs run into June.

  • Toronto Maple Leafs: Toronto is a short drive across the border, and Leafs fans often come over in large groups. Among the hardest tickets of the year.
  • Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens: division rivals with fans who travel. Montreal knocked Buffalo out in the second round in 2026, which adds an edge to those games.
  • Saturdays and holiday dates: sell ahead of weeknights.
  • Playoffs: Buffalo got back to the postseason in 2026 after 14 seasons away, and a fan base that had waited that long bought heavily.

A midweek game against a Western Conference team is the most reliable way into a good lower-bowl seat.

Metro Rail, ramps and the clutch-only bag rule

The arena's address is 1 Seymour H. Knox III Plaza, at the foot of downtown.

  • Transit: the NFTA Metro Rail line runs by the arena, with DL&W listed as its stop, and two major bus routes serve it too.
  • Parking: the KeyBank ramp, the LECOM Harborcenter ramp and surface lots nearby. Pay online ahead when you can.
  • Doors: open 90 minutes before Sabres games.
  • Money: concessions and the team store take no cash, though the team says Canadian currency is accepted at concessions and the Sabres Store.
  • Re-entry: not allowed except for a medical emergency.

The bag rule is strict. For 2025–26, no bags, backpacks or purses are permitted; a clutch no larger than 4 x 6 x 1.5 inches is the limit, and medical and diaper bags are the exceptions. Load your digital ticket into the Sabres app or Apple Wallet. Read the Sabres A–Z guide before you go, since rules change.

Reserved Seat backs every order, mobile tickets included, with a 100% guarantee.

Canalside, Alumni Plaza and four arena names

The arena sits in a compact sports district. Next door, LECOM Harborcenter has a parking ramp and food, and the Canalside waterfront, with its restaurants and paths along the water, is a short stroll. Outside the main doors, Alumni Plaza is open to fans and makes an easy meeting point.

Do not be surprised by older names on maps. The building opened as Marine Midland Arena in 1996, became HSBC Arena in 2000 and First Niagara Center in 2011, and has been KeyBank Center since 2016. The Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League also play here, so check the calendar if you plan a visit on a night without hockey.

Perreault, the Fog Game, No Goal and a 2026 return

Brothers Seymour H. Knox III and Northrup Knox brought the NHL to Buffalo in 1970, the same year Vancouver joined. Terry Pegula has owned the club since 2011. Before every home game both the Canadian and American anthems are sung, and the team takes the ice to Sabre Dance.

  • 1970: Gilbert Perreault, the first draft pick in team history, scores 38 goals as a rookie. With Rick Martin and René Robert he later formed the French Connection line; their numbers, 11, 7 and 14, are retired.
  • 1975: in the Final against Philadelphia, warm air in the old Memorial Auditorium turns the ice into a fog bank, and Jim Lorentz swats a bat out of the air with his stick mid-game. The Flyers win the series.
  • 1996: the team leaves Memorial Auditorium for the waterfront arena.
  • 1999: Dominik Hasek carries Buffalo to the Final against Dallas, decided in the third overtime of Game 6 by a Brett Hull goal Buffalo fans still dispute, still called No Goal in Buffalo.
  • 2006–07: the Presidents' Trophy for the league's best regular-season record.
  • 2008: Ralph Wilson Stadium hosts the league's first Winter Classic; Pittsburgh wins 2–1 in a shootout.
  • 2026: on April 4 the Sabres lock up a playoff berth for the first time in 14 seasons, and an Atlantic Division title, before a seven-game second-round loss to Montreal.

For half a century, from 1971 to 2022, Rick Jeanneret's play-by-play was the sound of Sabres hockey.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 300 level at KeyBank Center too high?

The low rows near center ice are good value because you see the whole rink. The top rows behind the nets are the ones to avoid.

What does the 200 Level Club include?

It is a premium middle tier with private lounges, upgraded food and shorter lines, at a height that shows the full ice.

Can you bring a purse to a Sabres game?

No. For 2025–26 the limit is a clutch of 4 x 6 x 1.5 inches or smaller; medical and diaper bags are the only exceptions.

Does Metro Rail go to KeyBank Center?

Yes. The NFTA Metro Rail line serves the arena, with DL&W listed as the stop, and two major bus routes also run there.

Which Sabres games are hardest to get?

Toronto games, because Leafs fans make the short trip, plus Boston, Montreal, Saturday and holiday dates, and any playoff game.
