The Bruins seat to buy at TD Garden
For a Boston Bruins game, buy a Loge sideline seat in rows 8 to 15. TD Garden, built over North Station and seating 17,850 for hockey, numbers its lower bowl as Loge sections 1 through 22, and those middle rows put you above the glass with both nets in clear view.
- Closer to Bruins goals for less: the corners and end near Loge sections 3 to 10.
- Premium night out: club seating on Level 5.
- Best value for watching hockey: low Balcony rows near center ice.
- Seats to pass on: the top corner rows of the Balcony.
Hockey season at the Garden starts in October; the postseason can keep it going until June.
Loge, Level 5 and the Balcony, floor by floor
The arena replaced the old Boston Garden at the end of September 1995. The arena names its seating by building level, which is how you will see it on tickets.
Level 4: the Loge (sections 1–22)
The lower bowl. Middle sideline rows are the strongest all-around hockey seats. Row 1 is right at the glass: great for hits and warmups, but players along the boards and the low angle cut off the far end.
Level 5: premium seating and suites
Wider chairs, wait service and dining access. A sensible choice when you are hosting clients or want an easy evening.
Level 7: the Balcony (the 300 sections)
The upper bowl. Plenty of longtime fans would rather sit low in the Balcony than in the last Loge rows, since from up here you see every shift take shape across the whole sheet. Quality drops in the top rows of the corners.
Level 9
Listed by the arena as the building's back row.
Some rows stretch to 22 seats, so ask for an aisle if you expect to get up during play.
Sections 3 to 10: where Boston attacks twice
In periods one and three, each team attacks the same goal. For Boston, per seating guides, that goal is in front of Loge sections 3 to 10. Two reasons to sit there:
- You see most Bruins goals from the near side.
- End and corner seats usually cost less than the sideline at the same height.
Teams can change ends, so confirm during warmups. The team bench location is not confirmed in the sources for this page, so do not choose a section expecting to sit behind the Bruins bench.
Habs, Leafs and the other nights that sell out
Exhibitions fill September; the schedule that counts covers early October through mid-April. Nearly every Bruins game draws, but some draw far more:
- Montreal Canadiens: no opponent has a longer history with Boston, much of it written in the playoffs. Expect these to sell out earliest.
- Toronto Maple Leafs: a division rival from the Original Six whose fans make the trip in big numbers.
- Detroit, Chicago and the Rangers: the rest of the Original Six draw extra interest.
- Saturday nights and holiday weeks: sell ahead of weeknights.
- Playoffs: each round costs more than the last, and an early game in a series is generally a better buy than a possible clincher.
The value play for a Loge seat is a Tuesday or Wednesday against a Western Conference club that brings few fans. Watch for nights when the Celtics play the evening before or after, since parking and restaurants get crowded.
North Station underneath: trains, garage and rideshare
The arena sits directly on top of North Station, so leaving the car at home is the obvious move.
- The T: ride the Orange Line or Green Line to North Station.
- Regional trains: Commuter Rail service from the northern and western suburbs and Amtrak's Downeaster all stop in the same building. Check the last train home before you buy a late game.
- Garage: the North Station Garage, under the arena, holds roughly 800 cars at one flat event price and fills on game nights. Prepay, or park farther out and ride in.
- Rideshare: since May 2025, night-time pickup and drop-off happens on Merrimac Street.
Before the game, the Hub on Causeway next door has restaurants, a hotel and shops above the station, and a few blocks away the North End, the city's traditional Italian quarter, is full of places for dinner. Inside the complex you will also find the Sports Museum of New England.
Bags, cash and doors at the Garden (2025–26)
These are the arena's rules for the 2025–26 season. Check the TD Garden A–Z guide before you go.
- Tickets: mobile only, with no screenshots or printouts.
- Bags: nothing larger than 6 x 4 x 1.5 inches; bigger bags must be checked, for a fee, on the first level.
- Payment: the arena is cashless, and kiosks convert cash into prepaid cards.
- Doors: for Bruins games, members get in 120 minutes ahead, general ticket holders 60 minutes ahead.
Every Reserved Seat order comes with guaranteed entry.
The video board hanging over center ice and the audio system were replaced ahead of 2021–22, after LED lighting before 2018–19. The arena was FleetCenter and then TD Banknorth Garden before taking its current name, and the TD naming deal runs through June 2045, according to published reports.
Six Cups, Orr's overtime winner and a 135-point season
The Bruins joined the NHL in 1924 as its first club based in the United States. Charles Adams, who made his money in groceries, owned the new club, and its first general manager, Art Ross, named it. From 1942 to 1967 the NHL consisted of just six teams, Boston among them, and that group is still called the Original Six. Jeremy Jacobs of Delaware North has owned the team since 1975, and its colors are black, gold and white.
- 1924: Boston Arena hosts the first NHL game on American soil.
- 1928 to 1995: the old Boston Garden is home for 67 years.
- 1929, 1939 and 1941: the first three Stanley Cups.
- 1970 and 1972: the Big Bad Bruins of Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito win twice; Orr's overtime goal in 1970 is the franchise's defining image.
- 2010: the Winter Classic comes to Fenway Park, and Boston beats Philadelphia 2–1 in overtime.
- 2011: goaltender Tim Thomas leads the way to a sixth Cup, the first since 1972.
- 2013: down 4–1 in the third period of Game 7 against Toronto, Boston comes back to force overtime and win.
- 2022–23: an NHL-record 135 points and a fourth Presidents' Trophy.
The Bruins have been to the Final 13 times, the latest trips coming in 2013 and 2019. The franchise's all-time greats include Eddie Shore, Ray Bourque, Esposito, Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara, who wore the captain's C for 14 seasons ending in 2020.
Frequently asked questions
What does Loge mean on a Bruins ticket?
The Loge is TD Garden's lower bowl on Level 4, sections 1 through 22. The Balcony is the upper bowl on Level 7, the 300 sections.
Which TD Garden sections are near the end the Bruins attack twice?
Per seating guides, Boston attacks the net by Loge sections 3 to 10 in periods one and three. Teams can switch ends, so check during warmups.
Is the glass worth it at a Bruins game?
Row 1 puts you right on top of the hits, yet you see little of the other end. Rows 8 to 15 on the sideline show the game better.
Can you take the T to a Bruins game?
Yes. The Orange and Green lines, Commuter Rail and Amtrak's Downeaster all stop at North Station, directly beneath TD Garden.
Does TD Garden accept cash?
For 2025–26, no cash is taken at the stands, but kiosks inside turn cash into prepaid cards you can spend at concessions.
