Upcoming Cincinnati Reds dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Reds seats worth reserving, in brief

For a Cincinnati Reds game, aim for the first-base side of the lower bowl at Great American Ball Park. That is where seating guides locate the home dugout, close to section 131, and the upper rows of that side sit under the overhang, which matters on a hot afternoon. If budget leads the decision, the 400 level shows the whole field from a distance and usually has the most tickets available.

  • Closest to the home team: Dugout Box seats, rows F through J in the sections beside the Reds dugout.
  • Best look at the pitcher and hitter: the Scout Seats directly behind the plate.
  • Best summer day game seat: covered upper rows of the lower bowl, first-base side.
  • Best cheap seat: the 400 level.

Listed capacity is roughly 43,500 (a 2021 figure), and the park sits at 100 Joe Nuxhall Way on the riverfront.

How Great American Ball Park's seating map works

Lower-level sections carry 100-level numbers, and the top seating is in the 400s. Per one seating guide, seat numbering starts with seat 1 on your right when you look toward the field, handy if you want an aisle.

Dugout Box

Visitors sit in the third-base dugout, in front of the 114 to 119 range. In the sections beside each dugout, the front rows (F to J) are marketed as Dugout Box. Expect wider, cushioned chairs, protective netting and the shortest distance to the infield anywhere in the park.

Scout Seats

Behind the plate you will find sections 122 to 126 and, at field level, the Scout Box rows numbered 22 to 25. This is the premium spot for watching pitch location and movement.

Outfield and the 400 level

Outfield seats put you closer to the grass than the 400s do, though you give up the angle on each pitch. The fences are close (328 feet in left, 404 in center, 325 in right), so long balls reach those seats often. The 400 level is the full-field view at the lowest typical cost.

Cover, sun and netting along the baselines

The lower bowl gets little shade in a sunny day game. Only the rear rows get protection from the overhang. Behind the plate in section 125, cover begins at row H. Down the first-base line it begins at row EE, and everything closer to the field is exposed.

  • July afternoon: buy upper rows of the lower bowl on the first-base side.
  • Cool April evening: the uncovered front rows feel warmer and see more.
  • Rain in the forecast: covered rows are worth paying a little more for.

Protective netting stretches across sections 113 to 133. Fans in the first few rows notice it more than those higher up; most stop seeing it after an inning or two.

Opening Day and other high-demand Reds dates

Each February and March the club trains in Arizona at Goodyear Ballpark, its spring base since 2010 and a facility it splits with the Guardians. Opening Day 2026 fell on March 26, and the schedule runs into late September, with October games for teams that qualify.

  • Opening Day: the year's toughest Reds ticket. The city stages the Findlay Market Parade with the club that day, starting from the market at midday; organizers called 2026 the 107th edition, with a crowd estimated around 120,000.
  • Ohio Cup games: the yearly series with the Cleveland Guardians pulls fans from across the state.
  • St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs weekends: both bring large visiting crowds.
  • Summer Saturdays and fireworks nights: these go faster than games in the middle of the week.

For value, look at midweek matinees and April weeknights. The 2025 playoff berth has kept big weekends firmer, while ordinary weeknight listings often soften shortly before game time.

Riverfront arrival: garages, streetcar and gate rules

Hotels downtown are close enough that many fans simply walk to the Ohio River. If you drive, the team suggests two garages, Central Riverfront and East, both with higher weekend rates. The free Cincinnati Connector streetcar loops 3.6 miles and, according to the team, operates Monday to Friday, 7:30 in the morning until 11:30 at night.

The posted rules for the 2026 season are below; confirm them in the Reds ballpark guide before you go.

  • Gate times: one hour early Monday to Thursday, an hour and a half early Friday to Sunday, two hours early on Opening Day.
  • Bag size: a 16-inch by 16-inch by 8-inch maximum; backpacks with multiple pockets are refused, with exceptions for medical and infant items.
  • Payment: card or mobile only; kiosks at sections 118 and 431 turn cash into a card.
  • Tickets: held in the MLB Ballpark app, where you can transfer them to friends.
  • Smoking and vaping: banned throughout.

Arrive early and you can spend an hour in the club's Hall of Fame beside the park. Reserved Seat orders include guaranteed entry.

Crosley, Riverfront and the Big Red Machine

The Reds date to 1881. They helped found the American Association in 1882, moved to the National League in 1890, spent 1969 to 1993 in the NL West and moved to the NL Central in 1994. Five championships and nine pennants hang on the franchise's record, in red, black and white. The Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals are the division rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers are a holdover rivalry from the West years, and the Cleveland Guardians are the neighbors to the north.

  • 1912 to 1970: home games at Crosley Field.
  • 1919: the first title, against Chicago, a Series later stained by the Black Sox scandal.
  • 1940: a second championship.
  • 1970 to 2002: Riverfront Stadium, later called Cinergy Field.
  • 1975 and 1976: consecutive titles for the Big Red Machine.
  • 1990: title number five.
  • March 31, 2003: the new riverfront park debuts, a roughly 290-million-dollar project by HOK Sport and GBBN.
  • 2015: Cincinnati welcomes the All-Star Game.
  • 2025: the club finishes 83 and 79, reaches October for the first time since 2013 and falls to Los Angeles in the Wild Card round.

Two details reward a look: The Gap, a 35-foot opening in the seating that shows off the downtown skyline, and the riverboat-style smokestacks in right-center, which light up and fire flames and fireworks. The address changed from 100 Main Street to 100 Joe Nuxhall Way after the longtime broadcaster died in 2007. Schedules are on the Reds website.
