Upcoming San Antonio Spurs dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
The Spurs seat that fits your budget
For a San Antonio Spurs game at Frost Bank Center, the safest strong seat is a middle row of a Plaza-level sideline section; Plaza is the arena's name for the lower bowl. For value, buy the lower rows of the Balcony level (the upper bowl) along a sideline. The Charter level, a premium tier between them, is for fans who want amenities and a centered view.
One thing to check before anything else: the city on your ticket. A few Spurs home games each season are played at Moody Center in Austin, and the team spends much of February on the road while the rodeo occupies its arena.
Plaza, Charter and Balcony explained
The arena dates to October 18, 2002, and holds 18,418 for basketball. Tickets are sold by tier:
- Courtside boxes and courtside club: floor-level seats at the edge of the court.
- Plaza level: the lower bowl.
- Charter level: a premium tier with added amenities.
- Balcony level: the upper bowl.
- Suites and boxes: including ledge boxes, super boxes and terrace suites.
Because the arena was built for rodeo and hockey too, its bowl is slightly lopsided. For basketball, that makes sideline seats on any tier the most reliable choice for a clean view. Section numbers and bench sides are not confirmed here, so check the seat map on your listing.
Good and weak Spurs seats, tier by tier
On the floor
Courtside is the closest you can get, and demand reflects it. At floor height, though, the far end of the court flattens out. It is an experience seat more than a viewing seat.
Plaza sideline
A modest rise in the middle rows shows the whole floor while keeping you close to the game. This is the pick for most buyers.
Plaza baselines
Cheaper than the sideline at a similar distance, with a great look at the near basket. Front rows directly behind the hoop can have the stanchion in the way; a few rows higher clears it.
Charter
A raised, centered perspective with premium perks. A good seat for a work outing or a fan who values comfort over proximity.
Balcony
The best value in the building when you stay low and along the sideline. Pay a bit more to escape the top corner rows if you can.
Austin games, the Rodeo Road Trip and peak dates
The NBA calendar runs from early-October preseason through an 82-game regular season that ends in mid-April, with playoffs from late April into June. Two Spurs quirks matter when you plan.
- February belongs to the rodeo. Every February the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo moves into the arena, and the team plays a long run of road games known as the Rodeo Road Trip. Expect few or no San Antonio home dates in that window.
- Some home games are in Austin. The published 2026 to 2027 schedule lists three at Moody Center: October 23 against Houston, then February 26 against Memphis and February 28 against Denver, both during the rodeo stretch.
- Some games are overseas. January 2027 includes two games against New Orleans in Europe, one in Paris and one in Manchester, England.
Schedules change, so confirm the city and date on your ticket. In San Antonio, the toughest tickets are opening night, the Mavericks, Rockets and Thunder, star-driven opponents, weekends and the playoffs. Midweek games against Eastern Conference teams offer the most choice, and resale prices for quieter dates often drift down near tip-off.
Driving to the East Side and clearing security
Bexar County owns the grounds on the east side where the arena stands next to Freeman Coliseum. This is a driving crowd. Parking is priced and sold event by event, so buy online ahead of time as the arena suggests. Rideshare riders use a marked zone in the Pink Lot. If your hotel is downtown by the River Walk, VIA buses are an alternative.
The fall 2026 policy page sets the bag limit at 12 by 12 by 6 inches, and the bag does not need to be clear. Concessions take cards or tap-to-pay; kiosks inside turn cash into a card. You scan in from the Ticketmaster app, you cannot leave and return, and gates generally open roughly 60 minutes ahead. Reserved Seat backs each order with a 100% guarantee. Read the Frost Bank Center arena policies before you go, since rules change.
A black-and-silver crowd
A Spurs crowd stands through big runs, wears black and silver, and fills the building with the Go Spurs Go chant. The best-known fan group, the Baseline Bums, formed in 1973 at HemisFair Arena, where members sat above the visitors' tunnel and became nationally known for heckling. Today its members spend more time on charity and community work than on taunting opponents.
There is no big tailgating culture at the arena. Visitors tend to eat downtown or along the River Walk, then drive or ride east. For road trips, Dallas and Houston are each a few hours by car, which makes Mavericks and Rockets road games a favorite way to follow the team.
Five banners and three home arenas
The franchise started in the ABA in 1967 as the Dallas Chaparrals, played a season as the Texas Chaparrals, became the San Antonio Spurs in 1973 and entered the NBA through the 1976 ABA-NBA merger. Black, silver and white have been the colors since the move.
The championship years are 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014. Seven times the Spurs have won the West, most recently in 2026, a run that ended in a Finals series with the New York Knicks. From 1999 to 2000 through 2016 to 2017 the Spurs won at least 50 games 18 years running, inside a streak of 22 straight playoff trips. George Gervin led the early years, David Robinson joined in 1989, and the title years belonged to Duncan, Parker and Ginobili. Victor Wembanyama, the first pick in 2023, was a unanimous Rookie of the Year. The team has retired 11 numbers.
The team has had three San Antonio homes. It played two decades at HemisFair Arena (1973 to 1993), nine seasons in the Alamodome (1993 to 2002), and has used the current building since 2002, known first as the SBC Center, then as the AT&T Center from 2006, and as Frost Bank Center from 2023. The Alamodome set two marks: the biggest NBA Finals crowd on record, in 1999, and 68,323 fans against Golden State on January 13, 2023, the most ever for a regular-season game. The next move is planned. Project Marvel would wrap a new downtown arena in an entertainment district; public funding won approval in November 2025, and the target date is 2032.
