Upcoming Carolina Hurricanes dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
The Canes seat call at Lenovo Center
For a Carolina Hurricanes game, sit along the side of the rink, row 10 or higher in the 100s, or take a sideline seat in the club ring on the 200 level. Lenovo Center in Raleigh holds 18,547 for hockey. From those seats you clear the glass and boards, see both nets, and can follow line changes as they happen.
- Center ice: the red line, halfway between the goals, gives the most balanced view of breakouts and changes.
- Home-team scoring: the net Carolina shoots at in periods one and three.
- Value: the first rows of a 300-level sideline section.
- Close but limited: the glass, row A.
Home dates start in October and end in April, unless a playoff run carries the season into June.
100s, the 200-level club ring and the 300s
Since opening in late October 1999, the building has been the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena, then the RBC Center from 2002, PNC Arena from 2012 and Lenovo Center from 2024. Old charts and ticket stubs may show any of them. NC State men's basketball also plays here.
100 level
The lower bowl. Per seating guides, sections 101–107 run down one side and 116–122 down the other; the rest fill the ends and corners. Low rows feel fast; rows 10 and up show the game.
200 level
The club ring for Hurricanes games: short sections only a few rows deep (rows A to D in at least one section), padded seats and club access. The arena counts 2,045 club seats, alongside 61 suites and 13 luxury boxes.
300 level
The upper bowl and the least expensive tier, with the whole rink laid out below you. Front rows of a 300-level sideline section often beat corner seats a few rows from the top of the 100s.
Glass seats, the attack end and the right row
- Row A on the glass: you feel the speed and the contact in a way television never shows. The cost is visibility: you lose sight of the puck along your own boards and deep in the opposite corners.
- Row 10 and higher in the 100s: high enough to see over that clutter and still close.
- The end Carolina shoots at twice: most home scoring chances come toward you. One seating guide places it near the club sections around 222–230. That comes from a single source, so confirm on the event map or in warmups.
- Bench side: not confirmed by two sources, so do not pay extra on the assumption that a section sits behind the Canes bench.
Which Hurricanes nights go first, and which stay soft
Preseason games are in late September. Of the 82 regular-season games, from October to mid-April, 41 are at home; the postseason runs from late April to June.
- Division opponents: the Capitals, Rangers, Devils and Penguins come in several times a year, bring road fans, and carry playoff history.
- Fridays, Saturdays and holiday weeks: games around Thanksgiving and New Year's sell ahead of midweek dates.
- Star players and Original Six visitors: a marquee name or an Original Six club (the six teams that were the entire NHL between 1942 and 1967) draws traveling fans.
- Playoffs: a separate market entirely, with resale prices that move after every game of a series.
For the best prices, look midweek, Tuesday to Thursday, at Western Conference visitors during November, January and the start of February. For low-demand games, resale prices often ease in the last hours before puck drop; when a rival is in town or a spring game carries playoff weight, prices tend to rise instead.
Lots open three hours early: tailgating and parking
The arena's address is 1400 Edwards Mill Road, on the west side of Raleigh, with Carter–Finley Stadium and the state fairgrounds as neighbors. The site has around 8,000 parking spaces and most fans arrive by car; and buying parking ahead through the team app or online is cheaper and quicker than paying at the gate. Rideshare works, but pickup after the final horn can drag. GoRaleigh and GoTriangle buses serve the area, with thinner service at night.
Canes fans tailgate like a college football crowd, setting up tents and firing up grills in the parking areas before games, a scene you seldom find at an NHL arena. For 2025–26 the team opens the lots three hours ahead of puck drop and permits tailgating there; the arena issues its own tailgating procedures each season.
Doors, the clutch rule and paperless tickets (2025–26)
Here is what the team and arena published for 2025–26:
- Doors: an hour before puck drop on weeknights and an hour and a half on weekends, which can change.
- Bags: a clutch or wristlet under 4.5 x 6.5 inches is the limit, plus medical and parenting bags that pass X-ray screening. There is no bag storage at the arena.
- Tickets: on your phone; printed tickets will not scan.
Check the Hurricanes gameday procedures before you go. Reserved Seat backs every order, home games and road games alike, with a 100% guarantee.
Inside, Caniacs, as the fans call themselves, have given the arena a reputation for postseason noise few NHL buildings match. Stay after a home win for the Storm Surge, the scripted on-ice celebration the team introduced during the 2019 playoff run. Away from home, Canes fans show up in numbers in the closest Eastern cities, Washington above all since it is the shortest drive, followed by Philadelphia and New York.
Hartford roots, a Greensboro detour and two Cups
This franchise has lived several lives. It opened in 1972 as the New England Whalers in the World Hockey Association (the WHA, a competing league that ran through 1979), joined the NHL that year under the Hartford Whalers name, and relocated south in 1997. Its Raleigh home was not ready, so the first two Carolina seasons were played in Greensboro, roughly an hour and a half to the west; the move to Raleigh came in 1999. Today it is an Eastern Conference team in the Metropolitan Division.
- 2002: a run to the Final that included the comeback in Montreal known as the Miracle at Molson, ending in defeat to Detroit.
- 2006: the first Cup, over Edmonton, with rookie goaltender Cam Ward named playoff MVP.
- 2009: a late playoff rally against New Jersey, remembered as the Shock at the Rock.
- 2020: David Ayres, pressed into service as an emergency backup goalie, wins a game for Carolina on February 22, exactly 40 years after the Miracle on Ice.
- 2023: 56,961 fans fill Carter–Finley for an outdoor Stadium Series game, and Carolina beats Washington 4–1.
- 2026: the second championship, a six-game Final against Vegas closed out with a 3–0 shutout at home on June 14.
Four numbers are retired: 2 for Glen Wesley, 10 for Ron Francis, 12 for Eric Staal (honored in January 2025) and 17 for Rod Brind'Amour.
Frequently asked questions
Which row should you buy in the Lenovo Center lower bowl?
Row 10 or higher on the sideline. Lower rows sit behind the glass and boards, which hide play along the near wall and in the far corners.
What comes with the 200 level at a Hurricanes game?
Club seating: padded chairs, lounge access and sections only a handful of rows deep. There are 2,045 club seats in the building.
When do the parking lots open for Canes games?
For 2025–26, three hours before puck drop, and tailgating is welcome. The arena publishes separate tailgating procedures each season.
Can you bring a purse to Lenovo Center?
For 2025–26, no: the limit is a clutch or wristlet under 4.5 x 6.5 inches, with exceptions for medical and parenting bags that clear X-ray. There is no bag storage.
Who did the Hurricanes beat for the 2026 Stanley Cup?
Vegas. The Golden Knights fell in six games, and Carolina sealed it at home with a 3–0 shutout on June 14, 2026.
Did the Hurricanes always play in Raleigh?
No. The franchise started as the WHA's New England Whalers, became the NHL's Hartford Whalers in 1979, came south in 1997 and spent two seasons in Greensboro before Raleigh.
