Florida State Seminoles Football Tickets

Renovated sidelines: 18-inch seats · 67,277 capacity (2025)

The renovated sidelines at Doak Campbell Stadium now have wider seats and more legroom, which changes where a Seminoles ticket is worth the money.

Upcoming Florida State Seminoles Football dates

Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.

Doak Campbell seats: start with the sideline

For most Florida State Seminoles football games, the seat to reserve is on the east or west sideline between the 30-yard lines. Those sections give the best view, and they gained the most from the renovation completed before the 2025 season: seats widened to 18 inches, wider aisles, new handrails and, in select areas, 34 inches of legroom. If budget matters more than comfort, the corners and end zones are the fallback.

Home games are played at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak S. Campbell Stadium on the Tallahassee campus, with a home slate that typically opens around Labor Day and wraps up before Thanksgiving weekend ends. The renovation reduced capacity to 67,277 as of 2025, down from about 82,300; the 2024 season ran at a reduced figure while crews worked.

Sidelines, corners and ends inside University Center

The bowl is wrapped by University Center, a brick complex holding university offices, classrooms and skyboxes. Skyboxes fill the upper floors of the east and west wings, and the press box sits on the west side. Here is how each area plays:

  • East or west sideline, 30 to 30: the most complete view and the most comfortable chairs after the renovation. These cost the most on resale.
  • Corners: a diagonal angle that reads plays near the goal line well, usually priced below midfield. LED ribbon boards run through all four corners.
  • North end zone: sits under the main video board, which is over 100 feet wide, so you are looking away from the largest replay screen.
  • South end zone: faces that big north board directly, while a 45-foot secondary screen hangs at your back. For replays, the south end is the better end.

Heat, allotments and other fine print

September in Tallahassee is usually hot and sticky, and no shade map is published for the bowl. For a day kickoff in September, bring water and sun protection, and consider an evening game if comfort is the priority.

The athletics department decides where the student and visiting-team blocks go. Check the section on the listing against the current seating map if you want to sit among Florida State fans for a rivalry game rather than next to the visiting block.

The home dates that sell out first

  • Florida: the archrival and the regular-season finale every year. A Board of Regents mandate made the series an annual one, and the host flips each year, which puts it in Tallahassee in alternate seasons. The Gators hold the overall edge, though the record since 1976 is nearly level.
  • Miami: an opponent since 1951 and a yearly fixture since 1966. Through the 1980s and 1990s, this game frequently shaped the national title race, and the two programs combined for eight national championships between 1983 and 2013.
  • Clemson: an ACC rivalry built on years of Atlantic Division races, including the "Bowden Bowl" era when Tommy Bowden coached Clemson against his father.
  • Notre Dame: the largest crowd ever at Doak Campbell, 84,431, watched the Irish in 2014.

Early September nonconference games and late ACC games with little riding on them are the easiest tickets to find.

How Seminoles tickets reach fans

The university's ticket office handles season plans, single games and premium areas, and the order in which buyers pick seats depends on giving to the Seminole Boosters. Students are handled through their own pool. When Florida or Miami comes to town, the school's supply is close to exhausted by renewing season accounts, which leaves resale listings from current holders as the practical source.

Resale prices move with the team. Prices for the rivals, for a Notre Dame visit and for anything carrying conference or playoff weight usually rise in the final weeks; early nonconference games tend to ease. A hot start lifts demand for every remaining home date, so buying the marquee games early is usually the safer play. Reserved Seat orders ship free.

Television partners often lock kickoff times late, sometimes less than two weeks out, so keep travel plans flexible. Schedules and gameday rules are posted at seminoles.com.

Be seated early for the spear

The moment people come for happens minutes before kickoff: a rider portraying Osceola gallops the Appaloosa Renegade to the center of the field and drives a burning spear into the turf. The university's use of the Seminole name and the Osceola symbol carries the formal approval of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Walk in at kickoff and it is already over.

  • The War Chant: begun by the Marching Chiefs percussion section during a game against Auburn. Sources differ on the year: the program's history says 1984, the stadium's history says 1983. Braves and Chiefs crowds picked it up years later.
  • The band: the Marching Chiefs play every home date, plus all bowl and title games and a few road trips.
  • Unconquered: a 19-foot bronze horse and rider by the stadium; on the eve of each home game, fans watch its spear catch fire at dusk.
  • The Sod Cemetery: after a win in a designated road "sod game," team captains carry home a patch of the host's grass and inter it near the practice fields, a ritual dating to a 1962 victory in Athens, Georgia.

Tailgating fills campus and the nearby lots. Lot hours, tailgate rules and bag limits are reset each year, and college stadium entry rules have grown stricter lately, so read the university's current gameday page first.

How the program got here

An early Florida State College team played between 1902 and 1904. Today's program dates only to 1947, the year the women's college in Tallahassee was renamed Florida State University and began enrolling men once more. The stadium followed on October 7, 1950, a 15,000-seat structure that equals about the bottom half of the current grandstands, and the Seminoles won that first game 40–7 over Randolph-Macon on the way to an unbeaten season.

Bill Peterson's 1960s teams earned the first win over Florida, 16–7 in 1964, along with its first trips to major bowls. Bobby Bowden took over in 1976 and stayed until the end of 2009; his teams finished in the AP top four for 14 straight seasons from 1987 through 2000. Florida State played as an independent for decades before entering the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in 1992.

  • National titles: 1993, clinched by an 18–16 Orange Bowl win over Nebraska; 1999, completed in the Sugar Bowl against Virginia Tech, making the Seminoles the first wire-to-wire No. 1 team; and 2013, a 14–0 season sealed 34–31 over Auburn in the BCS title game.
  • Heisman winners: three quarterbacks, Charlie Ward in 1993, Chris Weinke in 2000 and Jameis Winston in 2013. The Biletnikoff Award is named for Seminoles receiver Fred Biletnikoff.
  • The Choke at Doak (1994): 28 fourth-quarter points erased a 31–3 deficit for a 31–31 tie with Florida.
  • Home streak: no losses at Doak Campbell from 1992 through 2001, a run of 54 games.
  • 2023: an unbeaten ACC title team was passed over for the College Football Playoff, something no undefeated Power Five champion had suffered before.
