Upcoming Seattle Seahawks dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
Shelter, sightline or noise: choose one first
The quickest way to pick a Seahawks seat at Lumen Field is to decide what you care about most. If you want to stay dry, buy a sideline seat set back from the field, where the partial roof reaches you. If you want the cleanest view, buy the lower sideline inside the 20s. If you want the loudest experience, buy the Hawks Nest in the open north end and accept the weather.
The roof covers roughly 70 percent of the seats but leaves the field itself open. Most of that cover sits over the sidelines. The open north end, the field-level rows and anything exposed to the wind are where rain finds you. In September, that barely matters. In December, it can decide whether you enjoy the afternoon.
The 100, 200 and 300 levels, plus the open end
Lumen Field opened in 2002 where the Kingdome once stood. It seats 68,740 for football and can stretch to about 72,000 for big events. The bowl is a U, closed on three sides and open to the north, where the downtown skyline fills the gap.
- 100 level: the lower bowl. Sideline rows from about 15 up clear the bench area and sit far enough back to gain roof cover.
- 200 level: the club ring, with lounge access and indoor space that earns its keep in winter.
- 300 level: the upper deck. Sideline seats here are high, covered and clear.
- The Hawks Nest: uncovered bleachers in the north end zone, filled with some of the most committed fans in the building.
The roof does more than block rain. It is widely credited with trapping crowd noise in the bowl, which is part of why the stadium has such a reputation for volume.
Rows to target and rows to think twice about
For a rainy December game
Skip the front rows. Wind can push rain under the roof edge onto the lowest seats, and the field-level rows near the north end are fully exposed. Higher rows in the 100 level, and sideline seats in the 300 level, are the safer bets for staying dry.
For the best look at the field
Lower-level sideline seats inside the 20s, about 15 rows back or more, show every formation and route. The 200-level club adds warmth and indoor space, which you will value more in December than in September.
For the atmosphere
The Hawks Nest is about energy, not angles. The view of the far end zone is flat and there is no roof overhead, but you will be surrounded by fans on their feet for every third down.
For value
The first rows of the 300-level sidelines combine height, cover and a lower price than the lower bowl. Avoid the top rows of the upper-deck corners if you want to follow plays at the far end. Published sources do not confirm bench sides, so check the seat map for your game before paying more for one sideline.
Dates that go first at Lumen Field
August brings preseason games, the 17-game regular season runs from September to early January with eight or nine home dates, and the playoffs follow in January. Seattle sells well across the board, so the real difference is which games disappear first:
- San Francisco and Los Angeles: the 49ers and Rams have the deepest modern history, and 49ers fans often head north in large groups.
- Green Bay: a long rivalry and a big national following.
- Night games: prime-time games in this building are famous for noise and draw extra buyers.
- Home playoff games: short sales windows and fast sellouts.
Preseason games and early matchups with smaller-market teams are easier to buy. In December, demand can soften in the most exposed sections, while covered sideline seats tend to hold their value.
Light rail, Sounder, ferries and Pioneer Square
Leave the car at home if you can. Link light rail stops at Stadium and International District/Chinatown stations, with Pioneer Square and SODO stations also within walking distance, and the same line reaches Sea-Tac Airport. Sounder commuter trains arrive at King Street Station, about a football field away. More than 15 King County Metro bus routes stop within three blocks, the First Hill Streetcar runs nearby, and Colman Dock, where Bainbridge Island and Bremerton ferries land, is under a mile away. Details are on the Lumen Field transportation page.
Parking at the stadium is limited to the Event Center garage and the North Lot, so most drivers use private lots in SoDo and Pioneer Square. Rideshare zones are at King Street and Occidental on the north side and Royal Brougham Way and Occidental on the south. Pregame life centers on the bars and restaurants of Pioneer Square and Occidental Avenue; there is much less formal tailgating space than at suburban stadiums, so check current lot rules before planning a cookout.
Bags and payment as of 2025
As of the 2025 season, Lumen Field accepts clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches, including clear backpacks of that size with two pockets or fewer. One-gallon freezer bags and small bags up to 4.5 by 6.5 inches are also allowed. Lockers for bag storage operate near the stadium on Seahawks game days, and every purchase inside is cashless. Confirm the current rules on the clear-bag policy page before you go.
Every Reserved Seat order includes free shipping and no digital transfer fees.
Expansion club to two-time champion
Seattle entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1976. After a single season in the NFC West, it spent 1977 through 2001 in the AFC West, then moved back to the NFC West in 2002, where it now plays the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.
The team has played in five Super Bowls. It lost XL to Pittsburgh and XLIX to New England, and it won XLVIII, routing Denver 43–8 after the 2013 season, and LX, beating New England 29–13 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara in February 2026.
Before Lumen Field, the Seahawks played in the Kingdome from 1976 to 1999 and spent 2000 and 2001 at the University of Washington's Husky Stadium. Two crowd stories define the fan base, known as the 12s (the crowd as a twelfth player; the club retired number 12 for them in 1984):
- The Beast Quake: in the January 2011 playoffs, a 67-yard touchdown run against New Orleans that broke nine tackles set off a reaction picked up by a nearby seismometer.
- The noise records: in 2013, crowds here twice set Guinness World Records for stadium noise, topping out at 137.6 decibels.
The stadium is shared with the Seattle Sounders of MLS and Seattle Reign FC of the NWSL, and it was known as Seahawks Stadium, Qwest Field and CenturyLink Field before the Lumen name. It hosted matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Frequently asked questions
Which Seahawks seats are most likely to stay dry?
Sideline seats set back from the field in the 100 level and sideline seats in the 300 level. The front rows and the open north end are the most exposed to rain.
Is the Hawks Nest a good place to watch a game?
It is a great place to feel the crowd, but not the best for sightlines. The bleachers are uncovered and the far end of the field looks flat from there.
Is parking available at Lumen Field?
Only in limited amounts, at the Event Center garage and the North Lot. Most drivers use private lots in SoDo and Pioneer Square, and transit is usually quicker.
Can I bring a backpack to a Seahawks game?
As of the 2025 season, only a clear backpack no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches with two pockets or fewer. Check the current policy before you go.
What does the 12s name mean?
It refers to Seahawks fans as the team's twelfth player. The club retired the number 12 in their honor in 1984.
When did the Seahawks win their titles?
They won Super Bowl XLVIII after the 2013 season and Super Bowl LX in February 2026. They also reached Super Bowls XL and XLIX.
