Upcoming Tampa Bay Buccaneers dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
The one Bucs seat rule that matters most
For a Buccaneers game at Raymond James Stadium, buy the home sideline if you can. Seating guides place the Bucs bench in front of sections 106–115, and the sun sets behind that side, so those rows fall into shade first as an afternoon game wears on. The far sideline looks straight into the sun.
That one choice matters more here than in most NFL cities, because the stadium has no roof and Tampa in September and October is hot and humid. The rest of the decision is about height and budget:
- Closest and coolest: home-side lower bowl, sections 106–115.
- Most comfortable: the 200-level club, with indoor space to escape the heat.
- Best value: 300-level sideline seats, if you can handle full sun.
- Most fun: the north end zone near the pirate ship.
Reading the 100s, 200s and 300s at Ray Jay
Raymond James Stadium seats 69,218 for a normal game and can grow to about 75,000 with temporary seating. Its sections are numbered by tier.
100s: the lower bowl
Lower sections run about 30 rows deep. Middle rows on the home side give the best mix of closeness, shade and a view over the sideline crowd. The very front rows are close but lose the far side of the field behind players and staff standing at the bench.
200s: club and suites
The middle tier holds club seats and suites. A raised sideline angle plus indoor club space makes this the most comfortable way to watch a steamy early-season game.
300s: the upper deck
The top tier is the least expensive way to see the whole field, but it has no shade and no cover anywhere. Going higher saves money, not sweat. Sun-side upper seats at a 1 p.m. kickoff in September are the least comfortable seats in the building.
The pirate ship end and Buccaneer Cove
The north end zone is home to the stadium's signature feature: a 103-foot pirate ship whose cannons fire when the Bucs score. Beneath it sits Buccaneer Cove, a fishing-village facade with concession stands. Seats near the ship trade a sideline view for the loudest pregame and scoring moments in the building.
If you want atmosphere, sit near the ship. If you want to read the game, sit on the sideline and enjoy the cannons from a distance.
Which Bucs dates sell out first
The year opens with a short August preseason. The 17-game regular season runs from September into early January, with eight or nine home dates, and the playoffs start in mid-January.
- NFC South games: New Orleans, Atlanta and Carolina fans have short trips, and these games decide the division.
- Big national draws: opponents whose fans travel in numbers lift demand across the bowl.
- Night games: cooler air and a bigger stage make prime-time dates more popular than early kickoffs.
- Late-season dates: December and January bring milder weather and playoff stakes.
- Preseason: the easiest tickets of the year.
Prices usually move most in the final week, once the standings and the forecast are known. Early-season heat can push more seats onto the resale market for 1 p.m. kickoffs, while the shaded home-side sections hold their value. Following the Bucs on the road is easy within the division: Atlanta and Charlotte are short flights and New Orleans makes a natural weekend. In those stadiums, visiting fans tend to cluster in the upper deck and end zones, and those seats go first.
Clutch only: entry, parking and tailgate rules
Raymond James Stadium enforces something rare in the NFL: a no-bag policy. As of the 2026 season, each guest may carry a single clutch purse no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches. A clear stadium bag does not count as an exception. Rental lockers have operated on Tom McEwen Boulevard for anything you cannot bring in.
- Re-entry: not allowed, except for a medical emergency.
- Smoking: banned throughout, including e-cigarettes.
- Payment: concessions and parking lots are cashless.
There are about 10,000 parking spaces on site and roughly 15,000 more nearby. A parking pass does not let you back into the lot once you leave. Tailgating is welcome if you follow the rules: keep to your 10-by-24-foot space, set up behind your vehicle, keep tents and coolers out of the walkways, keep music low and pack up at kickoff. For major events, rideshare pickup moves to the Steinbrenner Field lot across Dale Mabry Highway.

From 0–14 to home-field Super Bowl champions
Tampa Bay was awarded its franchise on April 24, 1974, and kicked off in 1976 as an expansion team, the same year as Seattle. The first season ended 0–14, and the losing streak reached 26 games before the first win. The team spent 1976 in the AFC West and moved to the NFC Central in 1977, which is where its long rivalry with Green Bay took root. Today it plays in the NFC South with Atlanta, Carolina and New Orleans.
Things changed over time. The Bucs won Super Bowl XXXVII after the 2002 season, beating Oakland 48–21 with a defense-first team. After the 2020 season they beat Kansas City 31–9 in Super Bowl LV at Raymond James Stadium, becoming the first team to play in and win a Super Bowl in its own stadium. Through the 2024 season the club had ten division titles, including NFC Central crowns in 1979, 1981 and 1999 and four straight NFC South titles from 2021 to 2024.
Home for the first 22 seasons was Tampa Stadium, nicknamed the Big Sombrero. The current stadium opened next door on September 20, 1998. It has hosted Super Bowls XXXV (2001), XLIII (2009) and LV (2021), and it is also home to the South Florida Bulls, the ReliaQuest Bowl and the Gasparilla Bowl. Its attendance record, 74,512, came at the 2017 College Football Playoff national championship. Hugh Culverhouse owned the team from the start until 1994; Malcolm Glazer bought it in 1995, and the Glazer family still owns it.
Frequently asked questions
Which sections are on the Buccaneers sideline?
Seating guides place the Bucs bench in front of sections 106 to 115. The sun sets behind that side, so it is also the first to fall into shade during an afternoon game.
Is the upper deck at Raymond James Stadium shaded?
No. The 300 level has no shade or cover, so early-season afternoon games there mean full sun for the whole game.
Can I bring a clear bag to a Bucs game?
Not as of the 2026 season. The stadium allows only one clutch no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches, and clear bags are not an exception. Check the current policy before you go.
Where is the pirate ship at Raymond James Stadium?
In the north end zone. The 103-foot ship fires its cannons when the Bucs score, and Buccaneer Cove with its concession stands sits beneath it.
Where do rideshare pickups happen at the stadium?
For major events, the main pickup area is the Steinbrenner Field lot across Dale Mabry Highway.
