Upcoming Toronto Blue Jays dates
Dates and live ticket listings appear here as soon as they are on sale. The guide below covers what to know before you buy.
Blue Jays seat picks at a glance
For most Toronto Blue Jays games, the smartest seat is in the 100 Level on the third-base side, where the Jays' dugout sits and where the rebuilt infield seats now angle toward home plate. If you want the lowest-cost ticket that still shows you the whole field, take the 500 Level behind home plate. If you are going with a group that would rather wander than keep score, the new outfield social areas suit you better than any fixed seat.
- Closest to the home team: lower-level sections between home plate and the third-base dugout.
- Closest to the visitors: the first-base side, a good fit if you are cheering for the road club.
- Best view of pitch location: any level directly behind the plate.
- Weakest value: the far corners of the 500 Level, where height and angle cut off the opposite outfield.
Rogers Centre is home to Major League Baseball's only Canadian club, so the crowd draws from across the country and the schedule runs from late March or early April through late September.
Rogers Centre after the rebuild: 100, 200 and 500
The building opened on June 3, 1989, as SkyDome and later took the Rogers name. A two-phase renovation completed ahead of the 2024 and 2025 seasons replaced most of the seating bowl and brought baseball capacity down from more than 50,000. The published figures do not match: Wikipedia gives 39,150, and Ballparks of Baseball gives 41,500. Either way, a smaller house means fewer seats and a tighter feel than the SkyDome era.
100 Level
This is the lower bowl. The second renovation phase turned the infield seats toward the plate, which fixed a long-standing flaw of the old multipurpose layout, where many seats pointed straight across the field. Rows high in the 100 Level sit under the 200 Level overhang, which gives shade and shelter at the cost of some view of high fly balls.
200 Level
The middle tier holds club seats and suites. It is the level for fans who like to see defensive shifts and baserunning develop from above while staying reasonably close.
500 Level
The upper deck got new, wider seats in the first phase. Behind the plate it is the strongest value in the park. Move toward the foul poles and the steep pitch and distance start to cost you the corners. The Level of Excellence, which honors franchise greats, has hung on this level since 1996.
The outfield, the roof and the sun question
The first renovation phase, finished before the 2023 season, reshaped the outfield. Lower outfield seats moved closer to new walls and were turned to face home plate. The bullpens were raised and wrapped with bleacher seating, so you can watch relievers warm up from a few rows away. Several bar and patio spaces were added for fans who would rather stand and socialize.
- Pick the bullpen bleachers if you enjoy pitchers and want a lively, lower-cost seat.
- Pick a social area for a birthday or work outing where conversation matters more than the count.
- Skip both if you plan to score the game; a fixed infield seat serves you better.
- Consider the hotel beyond the outfield wall, which has rooms that look onto the field, a rarity in the majors.
The four-panel roof is often described as the first fully retractable motorized stadium roof, and it takes about 20 minutes to open or close. On cool April nights and rainy days it stays shut and no seat gets wet. On a warm open-roof afternoon, buy toward the back of the 100 Level, under the 200 Level, or higher up where the deck above blocks the sun.
Dates that fill first at the dome
The regular season gives Toronto 81 home dates. Spring training runs in February and March at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Florida, and the Rogers Centre schedule starts in late March or early April.
- Opening Day and the first homestand sell well, helped by the roof, which makes an early-season game in Toronto a safe plan.
- New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox series bring large groups of visiting fans from two AL East rivals, and demand rises for every game in those sets.
- Canada Day (July 1), when the schedule puts the Jays at home, and summer weekends move faster than weeknights in spring.
- The season after a pennant tends to carry higher demand; the 2025 American League title is the recent example.
For the most choice, look at April, May and September weeknights against teams outside the division. Rivalry and holiday dates tend to hold firm on the resale market, while the quieter dates often slip as first pitch approaches.
Union Station to your seat: transit and gate rules
Rogers Centre sits at 1 Blue Jays Way, at the foot of the CN Tower, and it is one of the easiest big-league parks to reach without driving.
- By train or subway: ride GO Transit or the TTC subway to Union Station, then follow the signed, enclosed Skywalk to the stadium.
- By streetcar: stops on King Street at Peter and John streets, and on Spadina Avenue at Bremner Boulevard, are a short walk.
- By car: on-site underground parking is limited and first come, first served. Downtown garages fill quickly, especially on nights when the Maple Leafs or Raptors play at Scotiabank Arena nearby.
- From the United States: build the border crossing and passport requirement into your plans.
As of the 2026 season, the team's guide limits bags to 16 by 16 by 8 inches and bans hard-sided coolers. Gates open 90 minutes before weekday games and two hours before weekend games. The park is cashless, with reverse ATMs (machines that turn cash into a prepaid card) on the concourses, and re-entry is not allowed without fan services approval. Anyone who appears 40 or younger is asked for photo ID with each alcohol purchase. Rules change, so read the Rogers Centre A-to-Z guide before you go. Reserved Seat orders carry guaranteed entry, so the ticket you buy is the ticket that scans.
Blue Jays history in short
Toronto joined the American League East in 1977 and won its debut on April 7 against the Chicago White Sox. The first seasons were played at Exhibition Stadium. The move to SkyDome in 1989 changed the club's fortunes at the gate, and in 1991 the Jays became the first MLB team to draw more than four million fans in a season.
- 1985: a first division title, under manager Bobby Cox.
- 1992: a World Series win over the Atlanta Braves.
- 1993: a repeat title over the Philadelphia Phillies, sealed by Joe Carter's walk-off home run. Toronto is still the only club based outside the United States to win the World Series.
- 2015: an AL East crown after a 22-year wait and a Division Series win over the Texas Rangers.
- 2020 and 2021: pandemic border rules sent home games to Sahlen Field in Buffalo and TD Ballpark in Dunedin.
- 2025: a division title, a seven-game ALCS win over the Seattle Mariners and a seven-game World Series loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The franchise has retired Roy Halladay's 32 (in 2018), and Jackie Robinson's 42 is retired across baseball. AL East titles also came in 1989, 1991, 1992 and 1993.
Frequently asked questions
Which side should I sit on to be near the Blue Jays dugout?
Sit on the third-base side. The Blue Jays use the third-base dugout, and the visiting team is on the first-base side.
Is the 500 Level at Rogers Centre worth buying?
Yes, behind home plate. Those upper-deck seats show the whole field and pitch location at a lower cost. The far corners of the 500 Level are the weaker choice.
How many fans does Rogers Centre hold now?
Fewer than before the 2023 and 2024 renovations, when capacity topped 50,000. Wikipedia lists 39,150 for baseball and Ballparks of Baseball lists 41,500.
Will I get rained on at a Blue Jays game?
Not when the retractable roof is closed, and it can open or close in about 20 minutes. On open-roof days, seats under the deck above stay sheltered.
When do Rogers Centre gates open?
As of the 2026 season, gates open 90 minutes before weekday games and two hours before Saturday and Sunday games. Check the team's guide before you go.
Have the Blue Jays won the World Series?
Twice, in 1992 and 1993. They won the American League pennant again in 2025 and lost the World Series to the Dodgers in seven games.
